Hi,

I'm just starting this thread as i've kept joining previous ones in hope that I would be at the same time but got left behind with the ups and downs of ivf.
After 3 cycles, 2 failed fresh transfers, PGT-A testing to give us 3 euploid embryos and just now getting our results from the ALICE/EMMA/ERA tests, I am now finally in a position to hopefully start FET on my next cycle with a transfer likely to be end of May or early June!! 😍. Would love to have people to chat to who are following a similar timeline.

@ElegantlyJaded interesting! So is it like a normal natural cycle just with a bit of help? Do you just do it for one cycle or a few? Never heard of it so it's all new but super interesting!

@HJen22 ahh, sending you hugs 🥰 sounds like a pants day! The ups and downs and all the emotions are sometimes too much, add on top of that the normal crap we have to deal with. Hope tomorrow's a better day. Ahh, your pup! She will be absolutely fine...I know their little faces just make it so hard! What dog have you got? We have a little ginger, fluffy cavapoo 🐶

@BlueSilver23 haha! Autocorrect comes up with some random stuff! So from your 20 did you get some embryos to freeze? Or have you just had the mature eggs frozen?
My clinic makes you pay £50 for a private prescription so to get norithisterone it wasn't worth it for me! So I just ended up getting all my meds from the fertility place. @Reefy does yours charge for private prescriptions?

@Coops0406 I asked the nurse on Thursday & she said no they don't charge for prescriptions but I'm not convinced 😂

Thornbird80 · 11/05/2022 21:33

Hey ladies!

Sorry @HJen22 you are feeling a bit rubbish, teeth pain is one of the absolute worst to deal with. Your pup will be all good its just that horrid wait of dropping them off and waiting for the call isn't it. Would recommend a surgical suit for post op. The vets should be able to provide one for you.

Hi @ElegantlyJaded welcome. Interesting to read about your treatment plan. Fingers and toes crossed you get the results you are looking for.

I had my first scan today. was utterly wracked with nerves waiting to go in. Ultimately cyst is very much still there at about 6cm (tennis ball size!) she thinks I have follicles on both ovaries but due to the size of them due to time of cycle I need to go back in about a weeks time to check. But oddly when I was waiting my NHS app pings and an appt has been added by the hospital for a gyne in about 2 weeks! So my GP has once again been amazing, I'm hoping they will get it sorted asap so we can get going with whatever treatment the clinic recommends.

@Reefy found all the staff so lovely today. Robert on reception seems lovely and really sweet with everyone today.

Been reading so much about supplements, just wondering what evryone is taking? Feel i'm about to rattle on Multi vit to cover off folic acid, vit D, E, Zinc. Pro biotic, CQ 10, omega 3 and also on double iron tablets as I'm anemic. Wondering if i'm missing something obvious.

BlueSilver23 · 12/05/2022 06:30

@Coops0406 Im just saving eggs right now rather than embryos as I’m doing this by myself and I’m mid thirties so also doing this for later on as well. Plan is aim for perhaps one soonish (if I’m lucky!) and save the rest of the eggs (should I be lucky for there to be any left over!) for a few years later. So I didn’t want there to be a potential situation in ten years time if I’m with someone new and the only option was for another mans embryos! So weighing up the worse rate of fertilisation for eggs rather than embryos I still opted to not freeze embryos just for the longer term issue and for choices. If I was in a marriage and wanting as many kids as possible right now then embryos would likely have been my choice.

It’s all difficult decisions all the time isn’t it?! I still worry whether im doing the right thing! Consultant said if I only want one child that I didn’t really need to go ahead with the second round as I had enough eggs collected and there are still risks associated with ivf but I’d rather go through a second round and have the safety of (hopefully) some more eggs while I’m relatively young. I also have lower than average amh so again trying to get as many out now as I can! 🤣

My clinic doesn’t charge for prescriptions either

BlueSilver23 · 12/05/2022 06:33

@Thornbird80 im taking proceive and q10 as well as iron and folic acid but I’m diagnosed anaemic too. I do wonder whether all these vitamins etc are useful if you don’t have a deficiency but worth trying while we are doing all this I suppose! Q10 is so expensive though!

Reefy · 12/05/2022 08:46

@Thornbird80 sorry to hear the cyst is still there but pleased you have an appointment for a couple of weeks time. Yeah he is great! I take folic acid, vit D & E, Q-10 & selenium A C E. I'm also anaemic but I have B12 injections every 12 weeks so I don't take any iron as don't want to then have too much but not sure if maybe I should. I was recommended by the doctor some tablets called Fertility smart at £50 for a months supply to improve egg quality but didn't make any difference & also after I had taken them I found out it said online you should take them with fertility drugs 🤷🏼‍♀️ I questioned it the other day he said it won't make a difference so was a bit confused why it would say it!

Courtjobby · 12/05/2022 18:51

Greetings from Lanzorote all! Hope everyone is doing well.

Sorry for not reffing posters properly, I see there are some other TESE couples here. We had 3 rounds , 2 regular and one double so 4 rounds total, just doubled up the last one. We bought a few vials of donor sperm and the only blasts to make it were all my partner's sperm ! ( We split 50/50)

@Coops0406 can you see an emergency dentist? I'm sure it's all bullcrap but have read click bait about dental health affecting fertility.

HJen22 · 12/05/2022 19:05

@Coops0406 we have a German Shepherd called Heidi ❤️ she's home safe and sound albeit very quiet and sleepy bless her.

@Thornbird80 thank you, glad to have her back. She's too big for their babygrows, so far she's not licked the wound but if she does we can pop a T-shirt on her. Sorry to hear your cyst is still there, great you've an app with gynae soon though! I take lots of supplements including coQ10, folic acid, a VitD spray, an omega 3 fish oil, NAC and vitC. Only thing my clinic said was folic and vitD but a nutritionist advised about the others.

How is everyone today?

@Courtjobby oh lovely how long are you there for? Me with the tooth issues; I've had two emergency apps now and got the actual booked root canal next week. Funny I was googling that, stress can totally cause teeth issues and I've had before during difficult times. I grind my teeth too naturally which doesn't help! Hoping the antibiotics kick in soon!

LT103 · 12/05/2022 19:49

@ElegantlyJaded thay sounds really interesting. Fingers crossed for you!!

@HJen22 this all sounds awful! You’re entitled to feel sorry for yourself!! Hoping they sort it at next visit!

@Coops0406 think my clinic was £50 for a private prescription but they’ve increased it to £250!! So def wasn’t worth it for me

@Thornbird80 i took pregnacare and coq10 before egg collection. Now I’m just taking pregnacare.

HJen22 · 13/05/2022 08:45

@LT103 thank you, I'm trying not to be as miserable, hoping the antibiotics sick in soon! How are you doing, bloods again today? Xx

Babydust2u · 13/05/2022 09:59

Hi everyone hope your all well, can I join? Just started my norethisterone today so nervous! X3 a day for 10days then I start my overleap at 150 then fermadol.. so nervous this is our first cycle we have gone private the clinic said because my amh is high 59 I'm at risk of ohss 😔 I'm so scared I just want ET day to come they said they will see how I get on the want to try for a fresh but think more than likely I might need FET

LT103 · 13/05/2022 10:09

@HJen22 yup had bloods mon/wed/today and booked for mon/wed next week just in case but I’m all bruised already.

they’re checking for estradiol to go up then fall back down and so far it has gone up but not fallen yet. And looking for a rise in lh which hadn’t happened yet so will see what todays bloods show

HJen22 · 13/05/2022 10:54

@Babydust2u welcome 🥰 I'm a little behind you but start norethisterone Sunday for 12 days! Wishing you lots of luck for your first cycle. This is our second so going into it knowing a little more but still as daunting with the outcome! I hope you don't get ohss and can fresh transfer; fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@LT103 that's a lot of blood tests! Good that they are taking good care of you though and a close eye! Hope you're feeling ok about it and relaxing as much as you can on the lead up x

Babydust2u · 13/05/2022 11:40

@HJen22 awww thank you so much! Have they told you if your going to have a fet or fresh? Any tips ot anything I should be taking? Currently taking pregnacare and folic acid not sure if I should be taking anything else or should be staying away or eating certain foods.. sending you all lots of baby dust xx

VO27 · 13/05/2022 12:07

Hello, ladies!
Could I join this thread? Have been reading previous ones and spotted some familiar names out here, never had the courage to post.
Little bit about myself. I'm 33, this is my second round on IVF (no luck with 3 IUI's ang round 1) Had my EC on monday (25 follicles, 17 eggs, 15 mature, 14 fertillized, 11 startet to develop) and today was my transfer day (had 2 day 4 transferred - had to decide to have 2 transferred literally on the table, horrified..), so the other 9 are still growing, will know by monday if there is anything good to freeze.
Feels so good to share...nobody knows what I am going through...
Sorry, I'm not from England, so my English is not so good, so you are welcome to correct my mistakes, maybe it helps me to improve my language skills.

LT103 · 13/05/2022 13:10

@Babydust2u i had a high amh too though not that high. I had menopur and fyremadel but the aim was always for a freeze all as apparently the drugs I had and the trigger I used have poor results with fresh transfer. It all went well though and didn’t get crazy number of eggs or ohss and got frozen embryos so we’re now doing the FET next week hopefully if my ovaries behave.
initially I was a bit annoyed I couldn’t get a fresh transfer but it was nice to have that month to let my body settle so don’t worry if a fresh transfer doesn’t happen. good luck with it all!

LT103 · 13/05/2022 13:13

@VO27 welcome!!! It sounds like this round is going well so congratulations on making it to transfer and really hope you get some embryos to freeze on Monday!!
i have only told a couple of people but this page is great to share with everyone going through the same!!

HJen22 · 13/05/2022 14:31

@Babydust2u it's planned to be a fresh. We sadly didn't make it to transfer last time so I'm hoping we do this time 🤞🏻 I take a whole heap of supplements but you can easily end up down a rabbit hole with things like that. As long as you're taking what the clinic advise. I just take some more that a nutritionist advised and I stuck with them, and ignored most of the other stuff she said. CoQ10 is meant to be good for egg health and quality though and it's spoken about quite a lot, I take the ubiquinol form.

Walks helped me take my mind off things during stims, I didn't see any family or friends to shield which made it hard but things are much better now. Things like reading, colouring in, nice food helped me.

@VO27 welcome ❤️ and congrats on your EC, eggs and transfer. Wishing you all the luck. And hopefully some lovely embabies for the freezer come Monday. Always here to chat. It's difficult managing alone isn't it. I told family and some friends last round but decided this round to tell no one but one friend who's going through the same. It was too hard last time having to tell them the bad news. Lots of people know we're doing IVF and have been but not any details this time, live and learn from last time. And your English was perfect 👍🏻

Babydust2u · 13/05/2022 15:24

@LT103 eeeek how exciting!!! Bet you can't wait for your FET when did you have you egg retrieval? If your having a frozen do you have to wait 1 month or isit 2months I know that's true the month off will give the body time to rest and heal..

@HJen22 fingers and toes crossed for you.. thank you I think that's the hardest not thinking about it it's a scary new exciting journey

Random question you do put weight on when stimming? I'm so scared cos my bmi is already high at 36 and I'm scared I'm going to put on more weight I've got pcos and I'm eating healthy but I feel like no matter what I do I can't shift the weight.. I feel like I can just look at food and I put on weight 😫

Babydust2u · 13/05/2022 15:28

@VO27 welcome and congrats!! How exciting!! Eeek imagine having twins or even triplets I was reading a thread on here and a lovely lady at 2 transfered and one split and now she's having triplets.. hope your doing well x

Banoffeepie91 · 13/05/2022 16:29

Can I join? I just had my transfer today so now in the dreaded TWW and would be nice to have some support as this time we haven’t told a lot of people we’re doing a transfer.
Bit about me. This is my 3rd transfer and 2nd FET. Our fresh transfer failed and 1st transfer we had to TFMR at 17 weeks last year as scans showed our son was really poorly. It’s taken a while to feel in the right headspace to have another transfer but I’m trying to keep positive about this little embaby! It doesn’t really seem real that it’s back in me now.

LT103 · 13/05/2022 18:18

@Babydust2u i had my egg collection at the end of March, 24th I think. Then I had my bleed after and this is my next cycle so started with bloods on cd11. Still nothing today so I’m back on Monday for more and hopefully transfer end next week or start following week. The waiting is a nightmare!!

@Banoffeepie91 welcome! So sorry to hear about your last pregnancy, that sounds tough!! Hoping for a nice relaxing 2ww for you

VO27 · 13/05/2022 20:05

@LT103 Thank you! Seems that you are preparing for a natural FET. I had it once myself - it was the easiest one for me, only had Ovitrelle shot and some medication to support..unfortunately didn't work.. Is it your first? You must be exited 😊

@HJen22 Thank you! ❤Really pleased as I haven't practiced my English i a very long time. I remember your story from another thread (issue with the trigger shot), it was terryfying, I would go crazy if that would have happen to me. You are so brave! And you are right, it is really difficult when you have nobody to talk to. Only my partner knows, we decided to keep it in secret until the good news, but still no luck. I had 3 IUI's and 5 transfers in my fist IVF round.. Today was my 6th. Never done it before with a 4 day ones (they are not morulas anymore but not embryos too). So I am really happy to have some good chat and support here!

@Babydust2u I'm good, thank you! Hope you are too! Yes, I have read this thread too, where one lady got triplrts!!! Horrifying to be honest 😱But if it's ment to be twins, I'll be happy. Seems like you are new to IVF. To prevent OHSS you have to drink a lot of licuids. For me it was disaster as I normally barely drink some glasses of water durng the day. I'm not sure if this tips work (but definitely don't harm): 60g of protein daily while on stims (should help eggs to grow), pomgranate juice (good for lining), brasilian nuts (lots of selene and other vitamins), pineapple (rises fertility). Didn't know anything about that my last cycle, so tried everything this time 😂

@Banoffeepie91 seems like we are in the same boat - I had my transfer today too! And now waiting, but all of us are probably used to it..IVF is such a waiting game.

LT103 · 13/05/2022 20:20

@VO27 yes I’m having a natural FET with just a shot of ovitrelle on transfer day. I’m so worried as everyone else seems to have medicated cycles. You’re thee only one I’ve heard who’s had the same but I guess they know what they’re doing 🤷🏻‍♀️ Yes this is my first transfer. I’m being realistic and trying not to get too excited but it’s hard!

Babydust2u · 13/05/2022 20:47

@VO27 yeah new to IVF you all can prob tell I'm so clueless lol I keep watching the injection teach videos but it just doesn't go register no matter how much I read my protocol I still feel like I'm clueless.. aww thank you sooo much for the tips will deffo have to up my water game I'm so bad with drinking water can I have pineapple all the way through to my egg collection or do I have to stop so many days before egg collection? Eeee I would love twins we've been trying for 5 years and I feel like twins would make up for us trying for 5years haha

@Banoffeepie91 hiya! Hope your well and doing okay sending you lot and lots of baby dust xx
