Hi,

I'm just starting this thread as i've kept joining previous ones in hope that I would be at the same time but got left behind with the ups and downs of ivf.
After 3 cycles, 2 failed fresh transfers, PGT-A testing to give us 3 euploid embryos and just now getting our results from the ALICE/EMMA/ERA tests, I am now finally in a position to hopefully start FET on my next cycle with a transfer likely to be end of May or early June!! 😍. Would love to have people to chat to who are following a similar timeline.

@BlueSilver23 yikes good luck getting through all the parades…make sure you’ve got plenty of time. I know how you mean about the follicles, but if it helps when I had my first retrieval, I only had a single follicle on my right side and all the others were on the left (and there were a bunch more that were just too small, they might have grown big enough if trigger had been a day later)

@HJen22 I’m on 225 menopur, so almost as much! So far I feel totally fine, but it’s only day 3. How about you? Any side effects?

HJen22 · 04/06/2022 19:45

@SamTTC I'm ok so far, I've been really busy with days off so it's been good to be distracted even if it's not been ideal timing for having OHs daughter! I'm eating anything in sight though which I swore I wasn't going to do 🙈 I got night sweats last time so probably that to look forward to! When do you have a next scan? Xx

Coops0406 · 04/06/2022 20:59

@Dobcaty snap! AF came 7dp5dt last time yet still had to put those pessaries in! Tomorrow will be my last day of meds as I'll test on Monday morning before I would do my injection so I won't have to do any!

@Reefy how have you been doing since EC? Do you feel okay physically? Have you got anything planned for tomorrow?

@BlueSilver23 my final scans only ever should 4 or 5 in total at the right size yet 16 and 17 eggs came out! 🤷🏾‍♀️ hopefully all will be okay tomorrow. I hope it isn't to stressful a journey back and forth for you!

@HJen22 my OH is okay. I always feel so bad as he's 11 years younger and all his friends around him are starting families but unfortunately he's got me and all my fertility issues...not that we exactly know what is wrong with me!

A question for you all, what would you do in my situation..I have a day 5 expanded blastocyst and a day 6 fully hatched one frozen one of which was from a separate cycle to try to get something for a potential second child. I had paid upfront for a multi cycle of 2 rounds so if I have one more put back in and it doesn't work then my next round is paid for and I'll also have one frozen for when I'm older. Do you think that it would be better to try with the worst embryo and do another cycle or use the best? If it works I lose that extra cycle we have paid for and I will have to pay for ivf again in the future...and will also be older! I'm leaning towards making use of the additional cycle that we paid for but my mum thinks I shouldn't even be thinking like that!

Hi ladies, hope you all don’t mind me joining in! I feel a little bit late to join but I’ve been too scared to post 😬😬 but everyone on here seems so nice and supportive thought it’s either now or never 😂😂

A little bit about me - 4 years TTC with all my medicated cycles and medicated IUIs a BFN 😢 so in the middle of my first IVF cycle, I started down reg on 13th may with burserelin and now on 5th day of stims - menopur 375 UI with my first tracking scan and bloods on Tuesday so starting to get a bit nervous to see what’s actually going on! I’ve had a few twinges either side where my ovaries are, is that normal on stims? No idea lol

im so sorry to hear some of you ladies on here are having a tough time with BFN or stuck in limbo this infertility journey really does suck!

@Coops0406 sounds like we are on similar plans as also paid up front for multi cycle of 2. I think if if I was in your position I’d want to take advantage of doing a fresh cycle especially as already paid for with the hope that there would be some good blasts to freeze for future use/siblings. It’s such I difficult choice to make though!

wishing everyone on here all the best of luck as I know some of you are coming up to OTD, having collections and transfers, literally praying for some good news on this thread 😘😘😘

HJen22 · 05/06/2022 07:27

@Coops0406 I know it's easy to think like that, but he will love you very much no matter the age or what's going on with his friends. I feel the same guilt but in a different way - my OH has a daughter who's 13 and now I'm asking him to start all over again, the hard way. He didn't even want any more kids when we first met.

That is a tough decision. Would you potentially like a sibling? It seems like a good idea to make sure of the already paid for cycle if you can to get some more frozen in the freezer. I can see why you're thinking along those lines. What has your clinic and Dr advised?

@EmzieMurf1987 welcome ❤️ you're in safe hands here, everyone is lovely and very supportive. We are all here for chats anytime. We are on a very similar timeline, today is my day 6 of stims and I've a monitoring scan Wednesday and Friday next week. I'm sorry to hear the tough time you've had so far on this journey 😔 I am sending all the luck for your cycle xx

Reefy · 05/06/2022 07:46

@Coops0406 yes not too bad a bit bloated & a few cramps but I guess that's normal. No having a rest day today as back to work tomorrow. Went out for lunch with my Dad yesterday which was lovely then went & sat in parents garden after so a chilled one then too.
That's a very hard question to answer & I don't know what I would do. So I've got a multi cycle but the catch with mine was I have to use what's in the freezer first before I can do another fresh cycle but I would be wanting to do that first to get as many as possible to try for siblings but everyone is different.

@EmzieMurf1987 welcome. Sorry to hear about the failed IUIs. Yes I wouldn't panic about the twinges all normal, some people get it some don't. I hope you are finding the stims all ok.

SamTTC · 05/06/2022 08:28

@Coops0406 regardless of if you end up having enough for a sibling or if you just want as good of a chance for one child as possible I’d have another retrieval as soon as possible. A few months doesn’t make a huge difference, but still, you always want as young eggs as possible right? So I’d have the free retrieval sooner than later.
Like @Reefy i can also only have another retrieval once I’ve used all my frozen embryos, which is why I was so fixated on having my last embryo transferred last cycle- my clinic is closed in the summer so I’d be looking at a three month wait until my second retrieval…luckily it worked out.

welcome @EmzieMurf1987! twinges totally normal, it means the eggs are growing. :)

@HJen22 we really are on very similar timelines again! I start antagonist (Fyremadel) on Tuesday and then have a control scan on Thursday. Do you know roughly when your retrieval will be? My cycle is 27 days long, so it’s likely to be around the 13th.

Coops0406 · 05/06/2022 10:31

@Reefy @SamTTC I think I'm thinking the same. One of the embryos was from a separately paid for cycle so that's not involved in the multi cycle...I only got 2 embryos from that so if the next one they put in doesn't work then I move onto the next cycle in the multi cycle and that 3rd embryo stays frozen...that was me trying to forward plan too by paying for an additional cycle now rather than in a few years.

@EmzieMurf1987 welcome! I hope the injections are going well!! Twinges are good, sounds like the ovaries are doing their thing and the stims are working!

@HJen22 my friend was similar..her husband had other kids and had had a vasectomy which she had been okay about...and then decided she wanted kids so they went through ivf and have their 3 year old girl now.
I'm going to speak to the clinic tomorrow when I give them the official BFN. I'm also hoping to start my next FET on my next AF, although I'm not sure if that's allowed

Aw thank you everyone for the lovely welcome 😘😘 so nice to speak to others going though this journey too xx

@HJen22 i am also day 6 of stims too! So looks like we are on very similar timelines depending on how we progress with stimming. Are you planning a fresh transfer this round?

@reefy sorry to hear your feeling bloated and uncomfortable it’s the worst! Hope you enjoy your rest day today. Stims are going ok at the moment, I’m just a bit concerned by how high my dose is 😬😬 but I guess I just have to trust the professionals.

@SamTTC thank god what I’m feeling is normal! Hoping it doesn’t get any worse but also having some lower back pain today and I’m at work so trying my hardest to take it easy as possible 😂😂 like you said though hopefully it’s just egg growing pains - honestly I’m surprised as at this point questioned whether I even had any eggs 😂😂

Reefy · 05/06/2022 13:39

@BlueSilver23 I hope EC went well today! 🤞🥚

BlueSilver23 · 05/06/2022 16:29

@reefy Thank you! Back home and got 12 mature eggs in the freezer. It’s less than the previous round and again there were a few immature ones that couldn’t be frozen but happy enough. So 26 mature eggs total tucked away for safekeeping! Any updates on your little warrior embryo? 💪 How are you feeling?

How is everyone else doing? Haven’t been keeping up properly over the past couple of days!

I’m definitely a bit crampy and in a bit of pain but doing ok. Made it out of London without getting ambushed by a parade float! 🤣 Now for Burger King….

BlueSilver23 · 05/06/2022 16:31

Also, has anyone had experience with the cetrotide rash? I have a almighty large raised red itchy sore welt over one side of my stomach, which hasn’t had any cetrotide injections on for several days now but doesn’t appear to be improving but getting worse. Any ideas on how to treat it?

Reefy · 05/06/2022 16:32

@BlueSilver23 that's a great number! No update for today it will be tomorrow day 3, I hope it's still going. Just had a rest day today on the sofa as OH is at work all day so trash tv for me! Glad you got out of London ok. Enjoy the Burger King & rest up!

BlueSilver23 · 05/06/2022 20:10

@Reefy Thanks. Definitely feeling it this time round pain wise and can barely walk about but no bleeding so far which is something. So a few days of sofa and trash tv for me too I think! Trying to not be disappointed that it’s fewer eggs than last time despite being on extra stims and stiming for longer. Wondering if this cycle was just a lower AFC cycle (they never checked before starting) and if that is the difference. Or now winding myself up wondering if it represents a lowering of AMH/AFC in the last few months 🤷‍♀️ I think I need to stop overthinking it and catastrophizing and be grateful!

do keep us updated @Reefy

Hope people managed to have a decent weekend despite all the ivf woes.

Reefy · 05/06/2022 20:12

@BlueSilver23 they have never checked mine apart from my first cycle. Don't beat yourself up about it I know it's hard not too isn't it. Take care rest up. Yes I will let you know.

SamTTC · 05/06/2022 20:24

@BlueSilver23 thats a great number! It varies cycle to cycle and there’s no real pattern as far as I’ve been told. I’ve had 3 afcs counted and they were 16, 26, 13. Sadly the middle number was in my FET cycle.

Babydust2u · 05/06/2022 20:55

Hi girlie's! Hope everyone is well been so busy with the long Bank Holiday been enjoying spending time with the family had to travel with meds for like over 5hours was so worried but had like 4 ice blocks in a cooler bag and it was alright.. How was everyones bank holiday? How's everyone getting on? happy Sunday back to reality tomorrow xx

Babydust2u · 05/06/2022 20:57

@HJen22 how you getting on with your stims? x

HJen22 · 05/06/2022 20:58

@SamTTC ah cycle buddies again ❤️ they thought 13th June too! Last scan will be next Friday and hopefully trigger the Saturday!

@EmzieMurf1987 hopefully a fresh! Our first cycle we didn't make it to transfer but I am really really hoping to this time 🤞🏻 will yours be fresh?

@BlueSilver23 congrats! 12 eggs is great!! I hope you have had a restful day, and glad to hear it wasn't too chaotic getting out of London! I get a rash from certotide too but it tends to go away not long after, I'm not too sure what you could try, perhaps icing?

Did my jabs myself tonight without OH supervision as he was away, and I hated it! My friend was here for moral support but there was a bit left of stims so I was worried i'd not done enough one of the other days (why did they give one vial for 4 days, it's a stress!) then the cetrotide took ages to get back into the syringe, and I felt like some didn't come out so I had to restab, it bled and now very bruised. So all in all not fun! I don't want to do anymore myself!! I need my OH nurse to take over again! I think I'm too shaky and causing bruises xx

HJen22 · 05/06/2022 21:00

@Babydust2u hello 👋🏻 how are you getting on? Ugh fine haha apart from the actual injection administration part; see below haha. I feel ok other than I've had some night sweats and sore head! How was your weekend? Glad meds were all fine in the cooler, honestly things can be such a stress can't they!!!

Babydust2u · 05/06/2022 21:09

@HJen22 oh no I'm so sorry to hear your having a nightmare with your meds I know what you mean I feel like some of them you need to proper stab it in like my overleap goes in straight away but with my fermadol I need to proper push it in.. try to inject yourself 90degrees straight that way you'll have less brusing I've been lucky I only have the one bruise that was from the first time I done the fermadol and I couldn't get it in...I'm okay thanks got my day10 scan tomorrow but they said more than likely I'll have to cont on meds as I'm not quiet at the stage they wanted me to be on on my day5 scan I had like 3 or 4 follicles that's were 10mm and think I had like 4 at 5mm.. my ec was ment to be on weds but I'll find out tomorrow when it will be.. how long have you got left of stims? Have you had your scan yet? X

HJen22 · 05/06/2022 21:17

@Babydust2u I'm just a bit of a worrier and I didn't do any last time or pay much attention! I'm hanging up my nurses hat as of tomorrow and giving the job back to OH for sure! Yeah sometimes I don't stab hard enough either! It's just weird doing it to yourself isn't it! A lot can happen in a few days, hopefully your scan tomorrow shows lots of growth! And you get your date for EC. I've a monitoring scan Wednesday which will be day9 and then another day11 on Friday! Really hoping it goes well, I find the monitoring scans daunting! Xx

Babydust2u · 05/06/2022 21:32

@HJen22 I honestly think it's the needles too uno the overleap ones are so thin and sharp where as the fermadols are abit thicker I've had to do mine since day1 due to the hubby feeling light headed the sight of needles leaves him in sweats bless him.. bet you can't wait for oh to come back.. also are you standing or sitting when doing stims? I've noticed when sitting it stings alot more than standing.. awww thank you so much I hope they grow but I've told myself it is what it is and accepted it that I may need to do extra few days.. hope your scan goes well and you have alot of growing follicles I feel like when they do the scans it's alot more relaxing when you have a nice nurse.. I once had a abrupt nhs nurse when I was going through my fertility tests with nhs and she was so abrupt and made me even more stressed out... luckily my nurse I had on my day5 scan will be the same for my day10 tomorrow and she was lovely.. try not to think about it too much and relax yourself xx

HJen22 · 05/06/2022 21:41

@Babydust2u oh your poor hubby! What a shame! Needles aren't so fun! Yeah it's just today he is away as was driving his daughter back down to England but it's a long drive for him, they left at 8.30 this morning and he's still not back.

I do them sitting. When we did them before I kinda laid slouched on a seat flat and they were better. It's hard to get a good view I find when doing them myself. Probably hence the bruising. Thank you ☺️ let's hope for some good growth for us both 🤞🏻 yeah a lovely nurse makes all the difference, I'm glad you had a nice one and it will be here again. I haven't had the same one twice yet since beginning last cycle but they have all been nice. Can tell it's just the norm for some of them and I talk slot to overcompensate my nerves 😂😂 xxx

Babydust2u · 05/06/2022 21:46

@HJen22 eeee you should have seen him when he got hos bloods done he had to lie down on the chair for a few mins and he got proper sweaty haha! Remind me again where anouts are you from? Any idea when he will be back? Its a long drive.. deffo try doing it tomorrow standing and let me know how you get on its alot more easier and find it less painful xx
