@Gigi89x I had my baseline scan on day 3 of my period - that's when I started the oestrogen. Then a week later I had another scan to check my lining was as should be. I was then told to start taking the progesterone pessaries 5 days later and to expect to transfer another 5 days after that. We were told it was important to start the pessaries on that specific day as they would start fertilisation of the frozen sperm and frozen egg (I'm not sure how this compares to having embryos ready). I guess they just want to make sure you have enough progesterone in your system

Gigi89x · 20/03/2022 15:15

@Overlyanxious @Bluehawaii29 thanks both. Im hoping i can avoid isolating again. Found it very depressing last time. it would be nice to see people & have some distractions

Bluehawaii29 · 21/03/2022 06:30

@Millymillymillymillymilly hope you’re good. We made it to our 5th week (5+1 today)— says on my app size of an orange seed! Finally managed to sleep a good amount, fell asleep at 9pm yesterday and slept through till 6am with one toilet break. Still not ready to start the week though. Going to call my clinic today to ask if the scan can be brought sooner because I’ll be 8 weeks on 13th April and I know loads of people having theirs 6-7 weeks so seems strange to wait that long!

Gigi89x · 21/03/2022 10:16

@Bluehawaii29 i'm glad you got some sleep! I hope they can bring your scan forward too! I bet your so excited 😀 i cant wait to find out if your having 1 or 2 👀👀👀!!

Bluehawaii29 · 21/03/2022 10:28

@Gigi89x lol thank you, just waiting for their call back, admin person didn’t want to approve for me until nurses said it’s ok to bring it forward. Lol I see three sets of eyes on your message! 😱😱

Gigi89x · 21/03/2022 10:30

Haahahah that made me laugh @Bluehawaii29 thats just my excitement!! 😂

Bluehawaii29 · 21/03/2022 10:44

@Gigi89x aww thank you! Hope you are feeling better xxx

Gigi89x · 21/03/2022 10:53

@Bluehawaii29 i'm feeling a lot better thanks. Im relieved! Waiting on a nurse to call me today about the scan. The admin lady was hesitant to book me a scan as id be invoiced for it. Im being treated privately so I said thats fine, i would rather get checked out before my frozen cycle.
For some reason she wasn't keen on this as she said it sounds normal.

I had a scare back in January this year where i had an NHS scan due to heavy periods which showed i had a fibroid and i had already purchased my meds for IVF and was about to start. My clinic did a scan July last year when i had fertility assessment and then i didn't have a scan again before planning treatment. This caused me major stress as they had to see if i could go ahead with treatment as they were worried the fibroid was indenting into the uterine wall. Clinic did a 3d scan for this & decided i could go ahead in the end.

I would rather get the ovary situation checked & my fibroid before me purchasing meds again that Don't have long expiration dates!

Gigi89x · 21/03/2022 11:02

@Bluehawaii29 to add to below... in my private scan last July i had no fibroid then in jan this year my nhs scan showed i had one. I was quite surprised they didn't do another scan in jan before i was due to start ivf as clearly a lot can change in that time. By then id paid over 2k in medication. Really frustrated me they don't seem to scan again before starting. Did you have a scan close to when you started your ivf?

Bluehawaii29 · 21/03/2022 11:06

@Gigi89x oh no sounds very stressful! I had a scan before my period started just because I wanted to know if polyp was back because I had a polyp appear during clomid treatment March last year when I was having my first IUI. This really scared me and had to be removed so over half a year went by before we could go for the ivf. The scan I had before my FET reassured me that I’d be ok to go for the cycle so it’s worth doing it in my opinion x

Gigi89x · 21/03/2022 11:09

@Bluehawaii29 that must have been frustrating & stressful.

I don't see why they wouldn't want to scan someone before beginning treatment. It makes sense to me to get an accurate picture of whats going on.

Bluehawaii29 · 21/03/2022 11:11

@Gigi89x I know it’s very strange how they don’t pay attention to these kind of things especially if you have a past history of something going on. That’s why I argued me case to the consultant that time and she was kind enough to book us an extra scan

Bryterlayter1 · 21/03/2022 11:11

@Gigi89x I know my clinic (private) scans on first or second day of your cycle before starting meds to ensure no polyps, cysts etc. It's definitely done by some clinics, worth asking about before your next cycle?

Bluehawaii29 · 21/03/2022 11:14

They were just gonna start me on the femadryl injections and oestrogen tabs from day 1 of cycle and first time they were gonna scan was baseline one after 12 days of so. Imagine if something had gone wrong from my first cycle and they wouldn’t have known

Gigi89x · 21/03/2022 11:47

@Bluehawaii29 @Bryterlayter1 it makes sense doesnt it! Im surprised a lot of clinics don't check things out before the cycle starts!

The nurse just called me and I'm going to discuss with the consultant of what happened with my ovary pain & book a scan. Annoyingly she said i might be starting in may which isn't ideal as I'm going abroad in mid June 😫 . But don't yet know how long my cycle will be as the consultant needs to tell me what type il be having.

LuckyNovember · 21/03/2022 12:18

Dears, is anyone else on this thread stimming? How's it going? Mines going a bit slower than last time, but looks good... maybe EC on Friday 🤞🏻

IVFGotThis05 · 21/03/2022 12:40

Hi I have a quick question..

How do people feel about flying before 12 weeks? I can't find a real guidance that actually says if it's okay or not. I might as my clinic should it come to that. But I would really like to book a holiday for start of June. I will likely be doing another FET in April. I'm unsure of what to do.

As far as i know it's fine @IVFGotThis05 ... I will have to fly for work 2 days after upcoming transfer, so I'm also quite invested in the replies you'll get 😬

LuckyNovember · 21/03/2022 12:55

And actually, it must be fine, people who do their treatment abroad fly home after 🤷🏻‍♀️

IVFGotThis05 · 21/03/2022 12:55

@LuckyNovember I have just looked on other forums and there was lot's of replies to a lady who asked last year, a lot of women had travelled all the way from a day after pregnancy test up until 32 weeks with a few flying quite often in the first 10 weeks too which is quite reassuring ! :)

Overlyanxious · 21/03/2022 12:56

@IVFGotThis05 I think it's ok - short haul is always better then long haul but just keep moving. I went on a flight last week - however I haven't had a scan yet so not sure if everything is ok or not. I think double checking with the clinic or GP would be good, but I think lots of people fly in the first trimester. I think it's the third one where you should really avoid it

Justawannabemam · 21/03/2022 12:57

@IVFGotThis05 I e read quite a bit about this too. I think your fine upto about 32 weeks.
I've got a holiday planned for June, and if me and the trips are OK we will be going . It will be my last one for a while.

LuckyNovember · 21/03/2022 12:59

Looks like you're going on holidays @IVFGotThis05 🥳🏖

Excellent call @Justawannabemam , get it in while you can!!

Millymillymillymillymilly · 21/03/2022 13:15

@IVFGotThis05 I think it will be ok? I’m going away during the Easter holidays and I remember doing some research before and I didn’t see any particular concerns that made me think twice.

@Bluehawaii29 Definitely try to move your scan! I’ve even enquired about getting it done privately before the one with my hospital LOL. I’m too keen to know!!! Nervewrecking it has been! Keep thinking should I go back and do another blood test but then seems too over the top. I really need to calm the f down (pardon my French🤣)

Bluehawaii29 · 21/03/2022 13:38

@Millymillymillymillymilly yeah I missed the call so now waiting again for call back argh, I am chatting to ladies on this peanut app and one is only 4 days ahead of us and already had a scan and seen the sac and everything. Just no heart beat at the mo but at least she got to see it. 8 weeks is ridiculous, I’m going to ask for at least 7 week scan. I still do pregnancy test every day and line still darker than control line so that keeps me going x
