@LouScot Thanks. I can't stop thinking about her tonight, trying to send all the positive vibes over to Spain.

So we got 8 eggs from our donor but only 4 fertilised. Why am I really disappointed by that?

9 not 8, that was a mistype. They were all mature too

@Kamiros I'm sorry you're disappointed, it's normal to want the best possible. But I really hope you get some good embryos 🙏🏻

I have been checking in, not a great update from me, we had egg collection Wednesday and no eggs 😢 absolutely devastated after all the worry during stims too as I only had two good sized follicles. We got to three but nothing from collection. That will be the end of our NHS funding. Taking a break and then will research into some places and options. This journey isn't easy is it 😔

@HJen22 Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. I feel bad complaining about 4 now, I think I just assumed going with a donor would mean a better result.

Definitely take some time and look after yourself. My second round we didn't even make it to egg collection but round 3 was better so there's still hope. xx

@Kamiros don't be silly, don't feel bad I completely understand!! We all want as many chances as possible when it's so hard going through it, I'd be the exact same. And I know what you mean about using a donor too and hoping for more. I really wish it was a given.

Yeah it was touch and go, they'd spoke about IUI and I stimmed for two days longer. Just no idea what happened. Waiting for a follow up call since I was in shock and just wanted to get the hell out of there on Wednesday. We'll need to find somewhere private and as much as I half want to research now I also know I need some time. I don't think I really processed the first cycle and this one I naively went in pinning all my hopes on it.

When is your transfer scheduled for? Are you out in Spain at the moment? Xx

@HJen22 Yeah its tempting to want to get going again but def take some time.

No we're at home, DH froze sperm out there. I wonder if that might have impacted the numbers actually. We're scheduled for 12th July if we have something to transfer - everything crossed x

@HJen22 really sorry to hear about this round. Sounds like a break and time to recover will be good for you in the long run, then you can move to next phase all systems go.

@Kamiros understandable you're disappointed, but hopefully you'll end up transferring a perfect wee embryo next month.

@Kamiros 9 eggs collected! I know you are disappointed about the fertilisation rate but 4 fertilised is still a good result - remember quality over quantity. Some mature eggs just don't fertilise unfortunately, and all your fertilised eggs might make good day 5 blasts :) When is your next update due?

@HJen22 I'm sorry your egg collection didn't go as planned. Hopefully you can get a review of the cycle, and perhaps consider different protocols or other ways forward. A break sounds a good idea - its such a lot emotionally to go through x

Thanks @LouScot and @2mumlife. We get an update every day except day 4 so at some point tomorrow. Going to be a long few days.

thanks @HJen22 @Kamiros Unfortunately still not clear but unlikely good. There was no obvious ectopic thankfully. There was a small gestational sac in the uterus but no foetal pole seen. She thinks maybe saw start of a yolk sac but unsure. So it’s looking more like it’s going to be a blighted ovum/early miscarriage but we have to go back in a week for another scan

@Kamiros 4 embryos is still a good number. Crossing everything for you. When do you get your next update?

@HJen22 really sorry to hear about your outcome. Having a break for recovery and taking time to look at the options out there sounds like a plan.

@Kamiros I understand you're disappointed, but the quality might be good of those 4. Hope they all develop for you. 🤞🏻

@LT103 Its good they've been able to rule out ectopic at least. I'm sorry though you've still got another week in limbo. Hope you can try to distract yourself as much as possible x

Thanks all- I'm not sure how much we'll actually hear today as never had a day 2 update with embryos from my own eggs but at least they're in touch with us.

So our update today is that one of the 4 didn't divide. Of the 3 remaining all have the right number of cells but only 2 are good quality, the third has high fragmentation so they think it won't make it. Fingers crossed for the 2

@Kamiros Its good you got a day 2 update. Keeping everything crossed for your 2 good quality ones - and you never know about the third, embryos can correct themselves x

Is anyone having communication issues with GCRM at the moment, I've been trying to get a nurse to call me since last Wednesday to get a prescription ordered.

Funny you should say that @Kamiros , I sent a message via the portal today and heard nothing - normally there's something to say they'll get back to you.

Thanks @LouScot. I've phoned multiple times now and I need the meds soon, its quite frustrating. I'll just need to try again tomorrow.

@Kamiros @LouScot I was away to say, I phoned last week just to check something and got an answer right away... might be worth trying that if no answer on portal?
I've noticed one lady is lovely and very helpful and ... one is the opposite 🙂 x

The people I've got on the phone have been lovely but need a nurse to phone me back and process it. I totally understand how busy they must be but its a bit urgent now.

@Kamiros maybe a quick call tomorrow to say you've put an urgent message onto your portal? Hope you get it sorted asap tomorrow x
