I know I'm a bit early but knowing that I get to start in January I think I'll go mad just twiddling my thumbs until then.

With Christmas clinic closures I think there's a fair few of us around waiting for Jan to start, so hopefully we can gather here for support in the mean time?

About me - 33 years old (although I turn 34 in Jan!), TTC#1 for two years with unexplained infertility. Am due to start my first ever round of IVF in January (NHS). I've been told I'll do short protocol and in terms of next steps I've got a trial embryo transfer in two weeks' time, and both OH and I have to get blood tests done in Dec. I can order my meds from the pharmacy in Dec as well so got that to look forward to ha.

I'm currently predicted to start my cycle on the 31st of Dec which would mean having to wait a whole cycle due to the new year bank holiday getting in the way. My cycle can vary by a few days though so I'm really hoping CD1 actually comes a day or two later!

Thanks all for the well wishes.

Good Luck to everyone in the TWW!

@Bec18x Fantastic news you've got one in and 4 for the freezer too! Good luck with your call today.

@Newbee33 My clinic test 16 days from egg collection. I was surprised too but I guess it makes sense in terms of 2 weeks from ovulation (EC). I'm up for anything that makes this time a little shorter but still gets an accurate result.

@Dobcaty my 0TD is the same - 31st Jan!

Newbee33 · 22/01/2022 10:51

@Dobcaty Thanks, based on that sounds the same as you then 👍. I think I will hold off on testing maybe just do it the day before as I am up at 5:30 for work and don’t really want to do if half asleep, also would rather deal with bad news over night then going straight to work. I think I am due on this weekend (hard to know really though with all meds) but just hoping I get through the weekend without coming on. Yeah the fact that the trigger is HCG puts me off testing early x

Newbee33 · 22/01/2022 10:53

@PcosSOS Thanks, yeah definitely happier with a shorter wait too, I was just a bit concerned if it was a bit early but sounds right now 😊 x

PcosSOS · 22/01/2022 11:00

@newbee Totally, I was a bit confused by it too. I'm so torn between caving and testing early and then really not wanting a false result. I think I'm going to try my absolute best to stick with only testing on the suggested day.

Coops0406 · 22/01/2022 12:59

Just had our day 3 update. All 7 embryos doing well, 4 graded good, 3 graded average and none graded poor which is great.
Next update on Monday 🤞🏾

@Newbee33 our clinic has OTD at 11dp5dt, so same as yours as ET is day 0 for them. So they usually do transfers on a Monday and OTD is the Friday of the week after.

Newbee33 · 22/01/2022 14:49

@Coops0406 Amazing news on embryos sounds like they are all doing well 😊. Thanks yeah sounds like OTD is right then xx

Frenchiepupmama · 22/01/2022 17:29

@Coops0406 fantastic news 💞

Jennie154 · 22/01/2022 17:46

@Newbee33 I think clinics make up their own rules about OTD. I had EC on 14th and haven’t got my blood test until the 5th of Feb! Out of curiosity I have been testing everyday to see how long the trigger would stay in my system. Today was the first day of no trigger.

Aimz40 · 22/01/2022 18:58

Hi everyone,

I just did one of my bemfola injections and it leaked out of the injection site, I don't know if I did it too fast or what, but It was only 150iu and it ran down my leg so don't think I actually got any of the medication.

Has anyone else experience this happening with the pens?

Coops0406 · 22/01/2022 19:10

@Newbee33 @Frenchiepupmama thank you 🥰

Justawannabemam · 22/01/2022 19:52

@Jennie154 when was your transfer ? I think I might do that this time round

Jennie154 · 22/01/2022 21:29

@Justawannabemam My transfer the was 17th

Newbee33 · 22/01/2022 21:49

@Jennie154 Ah I hadn’t thought of that yeah would be interesting to know x

tulipsandsnow · 22/01/2022 22:42

@Coops0406 congrats on great day 3 results!

tulipsandsnow · 22/01/2022 22:46

update, got day 6 results yesterday, again like cycle 1 no 'excellent' grade blasts, and actually nothing higher than 4BB, but enough of a number that should get a few euploids so its good news. Last time they were quite fast with the PGT-A results, much faster than they said they'd be anyway.

Bit nervous about doing a FET next month on the cycle following egg collection, I did this last cycle (resulted in chemical), but had way more eggs collected this time. Anyone successfully done a FET immediately after EC even when they had lots (>15) eggs collected with no issues? Just thinking there could be lots of leftover follicles (aka cysts)

Bec18x · 23/01/2022 00:47

So I have 6 embryos in the freezer!

Also what were peoples progesterone level at transfer? Mine was 47 and my clinic have said that it's on the lower side so I've been prescribed some cyclogest on top of my other meds. She said it's not too much to worry about at the moment. When I've googled it I can see it should be above 30 but my clinic said they like it to be around 100 so just interested to know what other clinics say

Geep · 23/01/2022 20:17

Thanks for all the best wishes for OTD. It was yday and still had a very very faint positive. But have continued to bleed so not expecting anything. Spoke with my clinic and I'm to keep on with progesterone. Will test in a day or 2 and if negative (which I suspect) can stop all medication.

Bluebonnet3 · 23/01/2022 22:34

Best wishes for all those who are PUPO! And looks like there are some good numbers of frosties being made! I don't have much to report. I had a scan on Fri which showed I'm on track on my duo-stim second round, and i have another scan tomorrow morning. Today is day 7 of stims. EC in about a week possibly?

@Aimz40 I haven't used the pens but when the nurse showed me how to do the injections she suggested waiting 5-10 seconds with the needle still in and plunger fully depressed before taking it out, to help minimise the medicine leaking out the needle prick site. And inject slowly if possible.

slowresponder · 24/01/2022 08:33

@Bluebonnet3 can I ask if you’ve tried duostim before? I’ve Never heard of it and just googled and think it could be suitable for myself. I’m on my second official cycle (1 cycle in between was cancelled due to poor response). This time they collected 5 eggs but only 1 fertilised. All my tests came back as “normal” but I just don’t respond well to treatment which means I’ve probably got diminished egg reserve.

Just tryin to look in to options for next if this little embryo doesn’t stick x

Mochii · 24/01/2022 10:03

I’m waiting for my period to arrive so I can start FET and of course it’s a day late already! I’ve already tested so I’m not pregnant. So frustrating!

Does anyone know when in the cycle the drugs usually start for FET? I need to have a day2 scan to check that my cyst isn’t producing hormones, but this is all I’ve been told so far

Bluehawaii29 · 24/01/2022 10:08

Hi guys hope you are all well
Just sharing what my consultant reply was about taking aspirin: ‘ the last 2 Cochrane reviews have shown no evidence of benefit. The recurrent miscarriage team still sometimes recommend it in that situation, or if there are thrombophilia's, but there's no evidence for IVF.’
She also said Risk of harm is very low so I have no problem if someone wants to take it. so now I’m still not sure what to do? Help

womaninkent · 24/01/2022 10:43

@Mochii the drugs start in the first two or three days of the cycle for FET. For the first one they started after a baseline scan so I think day 1. This cycle they started day 3 because the clinic couldn't confirm until they we could go ahead.

womaninkent · 24/01/2022 11:05

@geep good luck. Got my fingers crossed for you.

IVFGotThis05 · 24/01/2022 11:52

Hi

Thought I would join this thread as I should be starting my first FET in February at some point when my cycle shows up ! After an unsuccessful fresh transfer in November! I don't know much about the FET process.. only that I will be taking a lot of pessaries which isn't fun! I'll have a little read through when I get a chance to see where everyone is up to ! :) Any hints, tips and tricks for a successful FET is welcome :)

dragonleo · 24/01/2022 11:58

@Bluehawaii29 I am in the exact same position as you re the aspirin. Came on here looking for info. I am doing my first ivf cycle and currently 2dp5dt. I emailed to ask my consultant about aspirin (prior to this had 3 miscarriages) and he said there is definitely issue with the quality of the evidence but it wouldn't do any harm if I wanted to take it. But I've also read it can cause miscarriage/affect implantation. It's an impossible decision!
