IVF/FET Jan/Feb 2022

I know I'm a bit early but knowing that I get to start in January I think I'll go mad just twiddling my thumbs until then.

With Christmas clinic closures I think there's a fair few of us around waiting for Jan to start, so hopefully we can gather here for support in the mean time?

About me - 33 years old (although I turn 34 in Jan!), TTC#1 for two years with unexplained infertility. Am due to start my first ever round of IVF in January (NHS). I've been told I'll do short protocol and in terms of next steps I've got a trial embryo transfer in two weeks' time, and both OH and I have to get blood tests done in Dec. I can order my meds from the pharmacy in Dec as well so got that to look forward to ha.

I'm currently predicted to start my cycle on the 31st of Dec which would mean having to wait a whole cycle due to the new year bank holiday getting in the way. My cycle can vary by a few days though so I'm really hoping CD1 actually comes a day or two later!

I’m finding it difficult to keep up with this thread there’s so many of us! I’m reading through a lot of msgs and sorry to read about those that haven’t had the outcome they expected this time and feeling hopeful for those awaiting EC or updates from embryologists!

I had my baseline scan this Tuesday after nearly 3 weeks of synarel and everything is working as it should, lining was 3.3mm which is good apparently?! I started my stims last night, it went so well, the build up was worse than the doing. Is it weird I can’t wait to do my next one tonight??

Drinking litres and litres of water. It’s crazy to think next weekend we could be doing our trigger injection! Eeek! We have 2 x scans next week one on weds and Friday. Really hoping things work as expected, I am on 375iui so highest dose. Will keep posting with any significant updates.

Hey. Have been going through the 2ww so had tired to take a break from on here and try and focus on other things (didn't really work mind you). Have been reading through the posts and seems some of you have got really good number of eggs and fertilisation rates.

@MollyVanDer I hope the meeting goes well next week and they are able to provide you with some satisfactory results.
Unfortunately I think this time has again been unsuccessful for me. Starting spotting yday cramping and lower back pain all night. Still not enough to soak a pad but it is getting heavier. My OTD is tomorrow but caved and took a ultra early one this morning and its very very faint positive (the test is meant to pick up 6 days before missed period so would have thought at 9dp5dt it would be an darker line). So I suspect something maybe started to happen and then stopped. My period arrived last cycle while on crinone and seems to be doing the same again (even though I'm tkaing it twice a day this time). We were on a multi cycle with access so had two full rounds. Unfortunately we had nothing to freeze from either round. So will have to pay for a new round if we want more. Although I think this may be it for us. I'm 37 with an incredible 5 year old, and think I need to focus on that. Won't stop me trying for a natural miracle though.

@Geep given you've had a faint positive I would call the clinic and see if they can suggest anything about the spotting

Just had a call from the embryologist- all seven eggs fertilised and are looking as good as they can for this point. Scheduled for embryo transfer on Tuesday - fingers are crossed. Getting quite anxious about it all now... quick query for those who have had embryo transfer before - do you still have the pessary that morning) it would be approx five hours before the transfer

I was told to take the Crinone before ET, just make sure it will be more than 2 hours before ET.

So I'm currently on 4dp3dt and feeling nothing other than a little bit of sensitive boobs. Is it "normal"? I'm a little bit anxious (of course 😂) that I have sharp pains two day ago and since then nothing

@Dobcaty I've had one successful transfer and one unsuccessful and I felt nothing different. If anything I was convinced the successful one hadn't worked and that the unsuccessful one had🤷🏻‍♀️ i just don't think i can tell.

Just a quick update from me.

I had one 5AA embryo transferred yesterday and we have 4 more good quality for the freezer. I'm so relieved that we have got this far after over 4 years of trying.

Now all we can do is wait.

@PcosSOS wow that’s crazy, exactly the same as my first cycle, 7 fertilised then we transferred one 5AA and 4 good quality frozen. I wish you all the best with your 5AA x

Just a small update, I'm still at supression phase/Buserilin. I'm on
day 8 of Buserilin today is day 1 of bleeding. My down-reg scan has been brought forward by 2 days now on 26th Jan. I have no idea what to expect at this scan, how was it for you and what do they check for? Were you still bleeding when you did it?

I've had my transfer today and got another 4 for the freezer so far but may be some more tomorrow. This is going to be the longest 2 weeks now but I'm keeping everything crossed 🤞🏻

@NaomiNatNat I'm on day 18 and bleeding. Got a scan on 25th

From the last cycle. On the scan they are checking to see that the burselin is working and your ovaries are doing nothing. Then they'll start stims which will start them back up and running. After the 25th I've got a planned scan on 31st and then on 4th which if everything is working properly I'll get my trigger to do on Saturday night for collection on Monday 7th . That's the plan anyhow.

I feel a bit bloated atm but having a good heavy bleed which is good stuff plenty of lining coming away . But I'm feeling tired, had migranes and I could sleep for England!

How are you feeling ? You getting on okay with the injections.

I have my 2nd FET on Monday. Would really appreciate any success stories for 2nd time FET.
Failed fresh in Sept 2021 and failed frozen in November 21.
Really hoping this is the one! 4BB is our grading. X

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing OK ❤️, I had my first baseline scan yesterday and I had convinced myself they had me on too low meds, but the nurse said lining is looking good and she showed me on a graph where my follicles are and the bar they have to reach too. It was stil abit away I thought... But she said another scan Monday, continue with same dose, possible one more scan and if everything is heading right direction maybe EC next Thursday or Friday 🤞 trying not to get too excited!

@Vslightlystressy fab news! I did have the pessary as you have to continue on every 12 hours so just did it as normal. I know a lot of consultants tell people after EC to do it the back way, I think maybe so there isn't too much messiness on ET day!

@Dobcaty from people who have ended up pregnant through IVF, they always told me not to pay attention to the signs as they can be similar either way. Or there can be no signs and still be BFP. It's so hard not to notice everything though and google! 🤦🏾‍♀️

@NaomiNatNat I've no idea about the buselerin but I imagine the scan is just to make sure it has done its job. Hope it goes well next Wednesday

@Dobcaty on my first cycle I found the tww really hard. I had all the symptoms that somewhere on google it pointed to possible pregnancy. I ended up spotting 9dp5dt and my ODT was negative. I told myself that when I'm on my next tww I'm going to ignore all the symptoms and just enjoy the moment of being PUPO, let yourself dream of the possible, sleep, and be happy. There was research around being happy helping so we watched loads of comedy standup.

@Coops0406 oooh good luck keep my fingers crossed with the update🤞🤞🤞. I'm on day 7 of Ovaleap injections.

Can I ask is it normal to have ovary discomfort aswell? I've been feeling it last couple of days bizzarly if I walk fast lol but this morning I feel even just general moving about they r definitely abit uncomfy... Esp the left! That one did have more follicles so I guess makes sense 😂

@Geep thanks for your well wishes. It sounds like you're really feeling the pressure. I've two friends who had unexplained second child infertility. Both tried IVF. One was successful on IVF and the other conceived naturally 6 months after a failed cycle, which she put down to being more accepting of having one child and enjoying sex with her husband after much sex scheduling! Both happy endings. I wish you a happy ending too x

@Frenchiepupmama I think it's absolutely normal! This time I didn't actually feel much apart from bloating but I think my ovaries were hiding. Last time however I felt like they were moving with every step I was taking towards the end...I was only stims for 9 days. So probably just the follicles growing 😊

@Justawannabemam I have pretty much the same symptoms as you, headaches, bloated, tired (2 hour nap at noon yesterday), good heavy bleed, cramping and dizziness this morning. I was told my 2nd scan is on 7th, 3rd scan on 9th and EC on 11th. Good luck 🤞💕

Anyone else due to test soon? Based off online info and the fact that everyone calls it the tww I thought I would be asked to test 2 weeks post ET but I had transfer on Sat 15th and told to test Wed 26th which is 12dp5dt (counting ET as day 1) just sooner than I expected really. X

@Newbee33 my OTD is 14dp3dt, so its on the 31st Jan. I think they calculate the 17 days from the EC as my OTD was already in the calendar before I started the injections. At the moment I'm holding off the urge to test (bc of the trigger and fact its still too early 5dp3dt today) but I'm sure I will struggle from next Monday to not POAS
