I know I'm a bit early but knowing that I get to start in January I think I'll go mad just twiddling my thumbs until then.

With Christmas clinic closures I think there's a fair few of us around waiting for Jan to start, so hopefully we can gather here for support in the mean time?

About me - 33 years old (although I turn 34 in Jan!), TTC#1 for two years with unexplained infertility. Am due to start my first ever round of IVF in January (NHS). I've been told I'll do short protocol and in terms of next steps I've got a trial embryo transfer in two weeks' time, and both OH and I have to get blood tests done in Dec. I can order my meds from the pharmacy in Dec as well so got that to look forward to ha.

I'm currently predicted to start my cycle on the 31st of Dec which would mean having to wait a whole cycle due to the new year bank holiday getting in the way. My cycle can vary by a few days though so I'm really hoping CD1 actually comes a day or two later!

Well done everyone who's done their EC! Some great results giving a bit of hope 🥰👏

tulipsandsnow · 14/01/2022 19:54

@BlueSilver23 thanks, felt a bit weird to do things differently I guess and was wondering how often people skip last stim. They had said I'd only skip if they were 'like high, really high- 15000 etc' and then yet called and had me skip it with level 10,000. Ah well we shall soon see how things went, EC in the morning!

thislittlebird · 14/01/2022 20:32

@MollyVanDer it's understandable how you feel but my fingers are crossed for your four x

Good luck to anyone else I've not mentioned who had their EC!

@Gracie2021 Sorry, I just saw this, yeah it's weird now they're here and Monday week will fly by!

Does anyone here have high AMH? I'm interested in what trigger you've been given. Mine is not what I was expecting and don't know if I'm worrying too much or not.

tulipsandsnow · 14/01/2022 20:36

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 between the no 'extra' tests and the stuff you've said on other threads, your clinic really sounds like something else! I suppose switching isn't an option?

@Bluebonnet3 it's tomorrow :)

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 14/01/2022 21:26

@tulipsandsnow I wish, we paid for 2 egg collections and all frozen transfers through access fertility, so tired into it for a whole while longer yet :( x

Bluehawaii29 · 15/01/2022 08:19

Finding it hard to keep up with all the posts haha but good luck @Dobcaty on your fertilisation results today! I know how nerve wrecking it is as we had to do ICSI due to MFI. I had 8 eggs collected and was really surprised when they told me 7 fertilised! Then I was pretty sure it was too good to be true and we wouldn’t end up with blastocysts but lo and behold day 5 came and got told we had 5 really good embryos. Transferred the best one which was a 5AA but sadly didn’t work. We have all BBs left, wanted to just hear if anyone has any success stories with BBs and also on my first cycle I didn’t get ‘implantation bleeding’, just AF turned up 10DPT. Question for those who have pregnant after transfer, did you get implantation bleeding and were there any signs at all it worked or is it just impossible to tell due to meds

Bluehawaii29 · 15/01/2022 08:25

@Gracie2021 hi I was put on the antagonist protocol after I was super sensitive and had developed a polyp from using clomid during IuI last year. Fortunately it’s been removed and my lining biopsy came back ok in September so got the green light for ivf but they didn’t want to take any chances because of that and my AMH level was pretty good, think it was 31 when last checked. Was given ovitrelle 250 for my trigger shot and didn’t go above menopar 220 unit if I remember correctly. Hope that helps x

Dobcaty · 15/01/2022 08:42

@Bluehawaii29 thanks for your comment, sorry to hear that yours didn't work yet!. yes its really just a waiting game now (again😂) I'm up since 5:30am and checking my phone if it has signal/missed call etc. I know they said they call in the morning anytime from 7am. When they usually make the call?

@MollyVanDer @Jennie154 how are you this morning? I had a little bit of cramping last night (and I was very bloated) but looks like today I'm fine and I'm so glad as I have to go to work. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Bluehawaii29 · 15/01/2022 08:46

@Dobcaty I think on a sat you’d probably expect the call by 9 latest. We got ours on a weekday around 10. Yeah it was kinda sad that it didn’t work but was kind of expecting it wasn’t going to work first time. Have FET in less than a month eek! Spoke to embryologist yesterday who is the lead one and she was just so sweet and just her saying we still have 4 beautiful embryos left made such a difference to my mindset x

Jennie154 · 15/01/2022 08:48

@Dobcaty I have just had to take some paracetamol as I’m in a bit of pain but other than that I’m feeling good. I hope you hear something soon.

We’ve just had a call from the embryologist to say that our 1 little egg has fertilised and is looking good.Grin

Dobcaty · 15/01/2022 08:54

Wonderful news @Jennie154! I am so happy for you! 🥰 Hope your pain goes away soon!

NaomiNatNat · 15/01/2022 09:03

@jenni154 that's excellent news! So glad to hear 😃

thislittlebird · 15/01/2022 09:29

@Bluehawaii29 that’s useful to know, we have the same AMH and I’ve been given that trigger too. I have emailed the clinic to check that’s right because I was worrying last night.

thislittlebird · 15/01/2022 09:30

@Jennie154 great news on your egg!

MollyVanDer · 15/01/2022 09:30

Wonderful news @Jennie154 we are all rooting for you!

I'm feeling okay today. Didn't have the best EC experience. Ended up blacking out in the toilet afterwards and have a bump on my face and split lip! Also vomited about 5 times despite having anti-emetic with my sedation. Will probably continue to take paracetamol today.

We are awaiting a call this morning to let us know how many of the 4 eggs are fertilised.

@Dobcaty @thislittlebird @Bluehawaii29 @Bluebonnet3 @Coops0406 @Gracie2021 and everyone else, thank you for your messages of support x

Jennie154 · 15/01/2022 09:41

@MollyVanDer Oh No! Look after yourself today.

Dobcaty · 15/01/2022 09:51

Just got the call. We have 6 very good fertilised eggs 🥳🥳

Dobcaty · 15/01/2022 09:53

Oh no @MollyVanDer look after yourself today and hopefully that bump moves down to your belly area very soon! 😘
Let us know when you got the call 🤞

Appleby11 · 15/01/2022 09:56

@MollyVanDer I was the same after EC. Projectile vomiting everywhere and apologising constantly to the nurses for being a pain 😂

I ended up with a UTI after EC so couldn't have my transfer as I was put on antibiotics. I don't know if it was from the collection itself or the medication. It just seems to have been to much of a coincidence to get one that week. It's made me very nervous about my FET in February though. Has anyone ever had this or any advice on how to try and prevent getting one on the run up to my transfer?

Justawannabemam · 15/01/2022 09:58

Hi everyone.

Just catching up a bit

Well done to those on egg collections.
@Dobcaty 6 is amazing . Fingers crossed they continue and you have some to freeze as well.x

Quick question from me to anyone out there

I'm on day 12 of using bursellin and I've not had a bleed yet. My period would be due tomorrow anyhow . Will that still arrive.? How long were people down regging before they had a bleed ...
Xx

Janefx40 · 15/01/2022 09:59

@Jennie154 and @MollyVanDer great news about your fertilisation. Less good news about your split lip @MollyVanDer !! Hope you feel ok today.

@Bluehawaii29 in answer to your earlier question: Implantation bleeding is rare. It happens to some people undoubtedly - it's happened to one of my friends. But it's not the norm. I've been pregnant twice and it basically feels like you're about to get your period. I spent the first few weeks running to the loo thinking I'd come on. So if feels the same as when it hasn't worked. I suppose if there was a difference for me, it would be that because I was on a very high dose of progesterone so no chance of bleeding in advance, when I had failed cycles I felt nothing whereas when it worked I felt cramping. But I've been on a lot of threads over the years and lots of women just feel nothing at all. That is what makes it agonising...there is really no way of knowing until you take that test

Xxx

Jennie154 · 15/01/2022 10:04

@Dobcaty That is fantastic news. I’ve got everything crossed for you x

Janefx40 · 15/01/2022 10:13

@MollyVanDer I'm so sorry I got muddled and thought you had your call already. Hope you feel better and your call is good news.

Janefx40 · 15/01/2022 10:14

@Dobcaty congrats on your fertilisation x

Bec18x · 15/01/2022 10:31

Just catching up though all these messages. I done my trigger lastnight and booked in for egg collection tomorrow morning. I'm so nervous as not sure what to expect as it's my first round. Trying to keep positive
