Hi there, I am just starting ivf, so I can't offer a success story.

But my doctor did say that nowadays with new technologies and everything they have, the risk for frozen embryos has dropped. I hope some lady with more experience will help you out.

Baby dust to all!

Lotusflower1990000 · 04/10/2021 14:59

@dutchessmom thank you so much! Good luck with your transfer and cycle ❤️ Baby dust to you too xxx

Frozen transfers have just as good success rates now as fresh ones do and in fact if you are older frozen has better success rates. Same with blastocyst development- day 6 blastocysts have the same success now as a day 5 so long as they are frozen and put back on day 5 post transfer

@Lotusflower1990000 Hi

I'm wondering the same as you! Need some positive stories to get me through the next month.
Just had a failed Fresh transfer of our 5AA embryo. So dissapointed and really thought it would work for us.

I have 4 frosties and wanted to start FET this month, but they said I had to wait a month.
I'm so anxious of how much chance I have especially if my perfect 5AA didn't stick. What are they chances with with others 😔

Hope you're feeling OK. I'm still so sad and feeling down all the time. Had my negative test last thursday xx

Lotusflower1990000 · 04/10/2021 20:04

@tiggerwhocamefortea thank you so much for this it has honestly given me hope love your name btw! Xx

@Twinmummy15 aww I feel exactly the same honestly gutted and so sad I had a 4AA and this was classed as excellent I only had one frostie from that cycle so I’m putting all my hopes into it if not then a full cycle again :(

It’s so upsetting I have ups and downs and try and stay positive but it’s so hard I had my negative test Tuesday just gone a full blown period :( I have contacted my clinic and have not heard anything so glad you have heard from yours have they said if the would do anything different this time round? Was that your first round of ivf? Xxx

@Lotusflower1990000

I'm so sorry you didn't get your BFP either.

This is my 2nd ICSI cycle.
First ICSI cycle worked first time and I had twins. No frozen embryos though.
So when we decided we wanted a sibling for the twins it meant starting from scratch. My cycle started in Sept on short protocol and ended up with 1 5AA which they transferred and then the 4 frosties.

I was so hopeful it would work 1st time like with the twins and especially as it was graded excellent.

The twins were both average embryos when transferred.

The clinic had so much hope too, so I know they're shocked it didn't stick.

I got my negative test on Thursday just gone and started my period on Saturday. So a few days after stopping the progesterone. How long did it take you to start? @Lotusflower1990000

My clinic have given me a follow up appointment so waiting for that in a few weeks. But only thing they said on the phone is that it's just one of those that didn't stick. No possible explanation for it really.

When do you plan to do your FET with your last embryo?
Xx

want2bemum · 05/10/2021 05:47

Yes I have a friend who is pregnant following a frozen embryo transfer.

It was her second go after a failed fresh cycle so the same as your situation.

She's now 6 months pregnant and all is looking good :)

Twinmummy15 · 05/10/2021 07:33

@want2bemum that's great news! So there is hope out there 💗

Lotusflower1990000 · 05/10/2021 08:19

@Twinmummy15 thank you it’s nice to hear from someone in the same boat

congratulations on your twins that is amazing news❤️

I started my period while taking progesterone which I didn’t know could happen We also had icsi I was on the long cycle I’m guessing the frozen transfer will be a lot shorter cycle I’m hoping to start in my next cycle so early November hopefully same timeframe as you have they given you a date for your follow up? Xxx

@want2bemum that is amazing thank you so much xxx

@Lotusflower1990000

I know, its nice to speak to someone going through it as well. Hubby is very positive the next cycle will work, but I find it hard to be so optimistic.

Yes follow up is in mid Oct so just waiting on that and then will find out more about the cycle for Frozen transfer. Never done one before so have no idea what it involves.

Same, I should be starting mine early Nov too. We can be cycle buddies! Smile

How comes you haven't heard back from your clinic yet? Did they not arrange follow up as soon as you called in with negative test result?

Is this your first ever ICSI? X

Lotusflower1990000 · 05/10/2021 09:01

@Twinmummy15 aww bless him mine is the same he wants to try naturally again and really believes it will happen.

It was my first icsi cycle I really didn’t know how emotional it would be the clinic didn't book a follow up for me it’s really odd I emailed them yesterday so I’m hoping I hear something today if not il be calling tomrrow my clinic is email based due to covid which is the only con to using them.

I’m hoping they agree to a November cycle it would be nice to be cycle buddies it really helps xx

Do you think you will transfer 2frosties? I wish I had 2 to transfer I think I would demand it at this stage 😂 xxx

OP posts:
Twinmummy15 · 05/10/2021 09:07

@Lotusflower1990000 bless! Maybe in this month try naturally... but I'm not sure if ovulation would be normal this month or not?!

Oh gosh, yes that's weird and also tough not actually being able to speak to someone.
Fingers crossed you can start in Nov.

I am not too sure how many they will chose to trnasfer. I assume they'll look at the grading for the ones left and then decide if there is any one in particular which is better than the rest and if so just do that one. But if there are 2 similar they may suggest 2 x embryos.

I'll be happy to go with their expert opinion. Just would be happy with 1 baby that sticks.

You never know you're 1 could be the one that's meant to be and you didn't need any of the extras, you just don't know it yet.

Xx

MeAndZig · 05/10/2021 09:53

Hi OP, sorry to hear about your fresh cycle. I was in the exact same position as you, I had a fresh unsuccessful cycle and only had one embryo that was suitable for freezing. That embryo has now been cooking for 32 weeks and I’m due next month. I, like you, also bled whilst on progesterone which I mentioned to my consultant. He put me on lubion twice a day along with 2 x cyclogest. Best of luck - i hope my story gives you some positivity , it can happen x

Lotusflower1990000 · 05/10/2021 10:49

@Twinmummy15 I think your right my hormones will still be all
Over the place but no harm in trying I suppose lol I’m sure hubby wouldn’t mind 🤦🏾‍♀️

Yes absolutely just for that one stick would be an absolute dream honestly please keep me updated with your journey ❤️ Hoping I can start a frozen cycle in November with you fingers crossed xx

@MeAndZig your message has honestly made me cry and feel relieved that there is hope congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️ Such amazing news I will definitely mention this to my nurse and see if I can get the same! thank you so much xxx

Twinmummy15 · 05/10/2021 11:04

@Lotusflower1990000
Will definitely keep you updated on here when I start and I'll let you know what they say at my follow up in a few weeks time.
Keep me posted too on your journey! Fingers crossed for both of us and November is our month ❤

Galgal15 · 05/10/2021 11:22

Hi, i had an icsi cycle. On day 5, one blast was suitable for transfer. Second blast was not quite good enough to transfer but they said they'd leave it to develop to day 6. On day 6 it looked good so was frozen. Day 5 fresh embryo transfer resulted in BFN, frozen day 6 was transferred a few months later and is now my 2yo DD.

Lotusflower1990000 · 05/10/2021 14:09

@Galgal15 thank you so much for your story it means a lot to hear your success story ❤️ Xx

@Twinmummy15 definitely baby dust to us both xxx

MeAndZig · 05/10/2021 14:35

@Lotusflower1990000 thank you so much and I’m glad it’s given you some hope. I have a short luteal phase, so that, coupled with the fact I bled before OTD led to my consultant suggesting I take lubion up until OTD. If you have any questions at all on it feel free to message me. Wishing you all the success xx

Lotusflower1990000 · 05/10/2021 16:02

@MeAndZig thank you who much I’m going to suggest the lubion to my clinic before my frozen transfer I definitely will thank you for your support ❤️ xxx

I never had a fresh transfer due to OHSS, but my FET worked. Physically, I was in such a better place for my FET. The process of stimulating and egg collection can take its toll. I'm not saying that's why your fresh didn't work of course, but I do consider the opportunity to give your body a rest a benefit of a FET. Fingers crossed your remaining embryo is the one 🤞

Lotusflower1990000 · 06/10/2021 10:31

@Holskey I was told I was at high risk of ohss for my failed fresh transfer as I had 19 collected but when they checked me the day of transfer it had cleared up I wish I had waited now I think your right my body was in pieces as I was so bloated and in pain thank you for your story I can’t wait to go back for fet I am going to ask for a few extra tests too fingers cross our little frozen is the one thank you for your story ❤️ So glad you had your bfp xxx

OP posts:
Twinmummy15 · 06/10/2021 15:23

@Lotusflower1990000 hey I'm OK! Getting through each day. Keeping busy, but keep looking at my embryo pic and then getting sad again 😞
It's booked for 20th. So a few days behind yours. That's lucky you got a quickish appointment.
I had to beg for mine to be in October. Otherwise they apparently only had November free.
Let me know how yours goes? X

Lotusflower1990000 · 06/10/2021 18:16

@Twinmummy15 I’m the same really trying to keep busy so I have no time to overthink anything aww bless you :( sending you a virtual hug I was surprised they first said the 21st but then I said to them I want the earliest appointment it didn’t matter which doctor as we only spoke to them once for the consultation then we had all nurses I will let you know how it goes xx
