failed fresh ivf one frozen? has anyone had success with the frozen embryo?

hi all I have just had a failed fresh ivf transfer we had one frozen from the same cycle just wondering if anyone has had any success with the frozen? From an unsuccessful fresh from the same cycle xxx

@lauradxoxo I felt exactly the same I don’t think I’m going to tell anyone about the frozen transfer for now as I need some time to not worry about it until I have my plan.

I agree with @Franca123 I think personally if you feel comfortable and if it’s before injections why not I drank before my injections and then during I had a few events where I just said I was on anti biotics so I couldn’t drink if anyone asked lol

@Katy75 that’s is amazing ❤️ I love hearing these Success stories really gives me hope I asked my consultant for more changes but she said we can’t change too much as if one doesn’t work we won’t know what the issue is. I just wanted more done so I have the best possible chance Xx

Hi @LucyLocket2021 my top embryo was 4AA which failed and we have one frozen which is 4AB which is good but not as great as a 4AA which worried me a little a grade 6 is amazing!! Have they changed anything for your frozen transfer? Xx

Hey! Wanted to give you an update... I managed to get my follow up slightly earlier and had it yesterday.
I should be due to start in my November cycle if it doesn't start early as I have to wait for an appointment for consent forms etc before I can and that's booked in for Early Nov. Fingers crossed itall times well.

@lauradxoxo sorry to hear your fresh transfer didn't work either. It is so heartbreaking isn't it!

My cycle for FET is only approx 4 weeks.
Start meds in cycle day 1 and then transfer usually happens day 22/23 apparently.

@Twinmummy15 awww that’s great your getting started!! Are you doing a natural or medicated FET? Xxx

@lauradxoxo I'm doing a medicated. But there isn't any down regulation. So basically should start estrogen tablets on day 1 of period. Then introduce progesterone roughly cycle day 15. Then about 6 days after should be ET. Then obviously the 2WW.
I'm not sure why there is no down regulation 🤷‍♀️ but trust that they know what they're doing. I have a 4AB to transfer.

When will you be starting? Xx

@Lotusflower1990000 fingers crossed you get to start earlier too! I hope our 4AB embabies are the ones that are meant to be!
My only worry now is that if my 4AB isn't successful, then you'll be disheartened! I hope and pray I can give you positive news xx

Thought I would give you another update.
I have had my appointment with the nurse to go through specific details. Now jsut need to call the clinic on day 1 of cycle. Hoping it will be 4th/5th Nov. My clinic seem to offer a blood test for official test day instead of doing a home pregnancy test for FET cycles. Anyone know why this would be? For Fresh it was just a home test. What is the reason for the blood test? I'm curious! Xx

Hi @Twinmummy15 that’s not long away at all!! I have no idea why It’s a blood test my clinic haven’t mentioned it to me I wonder if I will be the same! This is my first frozen cycle so really unsure on the process! I have my first appt on 1st November so I will ask then and let you know what they say :-) xxxx

@Twinmummy15 ohhh that’s so odd did they say you could do a test at home if you wanted? I honestly hate pregnancy tests lol because I haven’t seen a positive:( how many days pass transfer will you have the blood test? Xxx

Hi am I ok to join, so on Wednesday I got my BFN from my fresh transfer. I started bleeding on 8dp5dt so kind of had a feeling I was out, I stopped cyclogest on Wednesday and bleed came yesterday (thursday). My clinic have said I can have a FET straight away so can start after this bleed as long as it all times with Christmas which hopefully it will as my bleed has already come. So hopefully my next period will be end of November and I can start meds, not sure if I will have to down reg or anything as still waiting on a review after failed cycle. I was really bloated and sore after egg collection I couldn't move out of bed until the morning of transfer so I don't feel my body was ready. It was a grade 10 embryo as care grade 1-10 as I used caremaps so feeling a little heartbroken it never worked. We have 3 embryos in the freezer not sure on grades, good luck and baby dust to use all 🤞❤

Hi @Chel93 yes of course ❤️ Oh no I’m so sorry I had the same as you with my fresh and started bleeding 7dpt it’s so heartbreaking as we had a good grade embryo too what date are you booked in for you follow up consultation? Someone has started a November/December FET group too I’m going to tag you now xxx

@Lotusflower1990000 I had faint positives at 6dp5dt upto 9dp5dt but they didn't get any stronger then when I started bleeding I new I was out. I think I mustn't of had enough progesterone I'm going to see if they can test me on day of transfer next time 🤞 the clinic have just rang I have my follow up on Wednesday so hopefully get the go ahead for next cycle 🤞have they yes please thank you x

I've been following this thread and wanted to pop on and wish you all well. I had a chemical pregnancy after my fresh cycle in June, I bled at 7dp5dt but then tested faintly positive that then faded.

In my review they decided to add in lubion (I also did the Endometrio tests to get my receptivity window). I had my transfer early last week and I'm pleased to say my FET worked with a good initial hcg number. A long way to go, but I do feel more hopeful about this one.

If anyone has bled, please do ask your clinic to review your progesterone support / check your levels. Best wishes to you all.

@Chel93 sounds very similar to me it’s so heartbreaking they don’t check something so small that makes such a difference I’ve asked to have it all checked before my transfer on the day I’ve tagged you in the nov/dec let me know if it hasn’t come up I will send you the link to the theard xxx

@Chel93 welcome! So sorry about your failed transfer your journey Sounds very similar to mine and @Lotusflower1990000 we both bled around 7dpt.

I had my first appt today to get my prostap injection which is my down reg. I mentioned this to my consultant and she said she would up my progesterone levels this time by adding in lubion injections so hope this helps!!

@Lotusflower1990000 Hi sorry I've been quiet I had a very heavy painful period so took a few days to myself, I got the tag thank you so much @lauradxoxo it's heart breaking I really didn't realise how hard this journey was going to be.
I have my app with the doctor in the morning to discuss what could of went wrong and when we can go again, also going to ask about having my progesterone checked this time

Can someone please talk me down? I had my FET transfer last Wednesday and am absolutely itching to start testing.. can’t be a good idea this early

I really felt like there was no hope with this cycle all along; but in the past day or so, I’m starting to feel like it could happen.. and then I’m thinking it’s just setting myself up for disappointment - what a head wreck

@Lotusflower1990000 didn’t want to read and run. We had 4 transfers of 4Aa and 4BB transfers. First fresh ended in a chemical pregnancy. We had 2 failures and another chemical with our frozen embryos. Embryo 5 didn’t survive the defrost so we threw in one of our last half thawed 3C quality embryos. He’s now a 4 month old baby boy and perfect!
Frozen embryos can work brilliantly and you’re 4AB is such good quality there’s every chance it’ll work.
We added clexane which we think made the difference in case there is any undiagnosed clotting issues going on. Micro clots in the placenta can cause early losses/chemicals. They can do a thrombophilia blood panel and the C4M2 test for clotting genes. Ours were negative for clotting disorders but they said it couldn’t hurt to try. Got everything crossed for you xxx
