First cycle of IVF - buddies please!

Hi everyone,

Been on the conception boards a fair bit but this is first time on the infertility section.
Bit of background - 28 and been TTC for two years for first child. Had one miscarriage about 10 months ago at 5 weeks. Had all our fertility checks and no major issues have been identified. Consultant suggested IVF for us so we are currently in that process.
Nurse consultation is 2nd July and then hoping it’s not long after then!

Looking for some buddies to keep me going through it all as hate all kinds of hospital things and to stop me over thinking about!

Embryo has been doing it’s thing and I’m booked in for 11am tomorrow for transfer. Get a call at 9am for the grading - honestly can’t believe it

I’m going to be the devil on your shoulder and I will almost deffo be testing from like 7-8 days post transfer 😂

Embryo is a 5AB and apparently started to hatch (??) so all good news. They said was a little slow to get there but is pretty much textbook perfect now.
Think I’ve started to develop a bit of OHSS in the night though so need to let clinic know when I arrive

@LS2020 amazing news! What a relief that must be. Deffo let the clinic know about OHSS as they may think it's too much of a risk and have to keep the embryo frozen and book you in for a fet instead. Fingers crossed that's not the case and you can get the transfer done! Sending loads of positive thoughts!

@dogmam they didn’t seem worried at all, said it sounded like progesterone side effect instead and probably sore from EC as I wasn’t experiencing any thirst or peeing issues so all steam ahead.. just waiting around now ☺️

No problems with the injection. I didn't even feel the needle going in.

Update guys today is my OTD and we have a faint second line on the HCG25 cassette the clinic gave.

The first response was much darker? What does this mean why is the official tester so faint! Im scared to be excited just yet, will call the clinic tomorrow.

@hopingfor congratulations!! 25 is quite strong if you’ve only Implanted recently. First response tests to 10 so if that’s stronger that makes sense. I would check your line progression on the first response tomorrow but it all sounds good ❤️

@hopingfor to put into perspective a 25mIU is a digital so it get a line on it at all is really good!

I’m okay, I think I’ve had constipation/gas as a side effect of progesterone which has been pushing on my ovaries causing ridiculous amount of pain. Think it’s finally starting to ease off and only just sore now so hoping I’m on the mend. Worried the pain means my immune system is firing on all cylinders which is not good!

@LS2020 it took me a few days to recover from the twinges and pain from collection... I'm feeling ok! still hasn't hit me yet!
The clinic just called I'm booked for a scan 7th sept!

@dogmam sorry been back in work this week an sooo tired I've told close family and my work but that is it.

@hopingfor yes I was the same and then had this constipation and I’ve gone back to square one.. arent our bodies joyful ?!
That feels so soon for me, I guess that’s because my test day is the 3rd so I only see it as a TWW basically!

Thanks @tmc2021 dreading being in work tomorrow. I’m in theory only in Monday, Tuesday but there’s absolutely no cover in the team back end of week so probably going to have to log on from holiday home on Thursday and Saturday.. boo!

@hopingfor congratulations! A line is a line and as @LS2020 said, the first response is much more sensitive. I read that some first response (not sure if FRER or FRRR) can detect 6.3 mIU/ml. Does your clinic do a beta test as well? Or is it just waiting for the scan now?

@LS2020 congrats on being PUPO! Enjoy this time while your little embaby snuggles in. Having to log into work might not be bad if it keeps you busy and helps pass the time until OTD.

@Bryterlayter1 yay on starting stims. I'm glad your finding it easy and painless. Do you have the pre-filled pen type or are you mixing your own meds?

@dogmam how are you doing? Any sign of the elusive AF?

Spent the evening completing consent forms to take to my appointment tomorrow. I'd forgotten how many they had given us to fill. Baseline scan after lunch, so we'll see if my lining is behaving. We'll also be shown how to do the stims and mix the cetrotide. I'm sure I should have twenty questions but cannot think of anything.

Any advice on anything important to ask the nurse?

@hopingfor Congratulations 💛 your tests sounds very similar to mine. A lines a positive no matter how light or dark ☺️ It won’t have sunk in yet but enjoy every moment.

@Novavee true, although we’re away away so gonna be annoying taking all my work stuff with me and trying to find WiFi etc ugh!
Can’t think of too much at that stage, tbh the hardest bit was feeling reassured you’re doing injections right as all we got was a video guide. You have so many appointments you can always ask a q at the next one. Good luck today!!

@Girlwholifts honestly I’m a nightmare, my RHR has gone up two days in a row and now I’m sat googling threads about testing 4dpt 😂😂
