Thanks for the new thread @itsmschanandlerbong. Sorry your news this morning wasn't as you'd hoped, but as the other ladies have said there's definitely still reason to be hopeful, you still have two chances xx

Scirocco · 03/06/2021 23:12

Hi, thanks for the new thread!

Kamiros · 04/06/2021 05:56

Thanks @itsmschanandlerbong

HJen22 · 04/06/2021 09:54

Hi ladies, I was wondering if I could join? I've read your past threads and you all seem lovely, and i've been meaning to join in. I'm currently undergoing, well waiting, for investigations after our first video call with Aberdeen fertility clinic on Monday! Xx

willithappen · 04/06/2021 10:04

I'm gonna stick around with these threads too :)
@HJen22 I am an Aberdeen lady so feel free to ask any questions if you have :)

HJen22 · 04/06/2021 10:07

@willithappen hi 👋🏻 thank you, you replied to my thread about Aberdeen, very lovely of you! And you've had a BFP haven't you ❤️ how are you keeping?

I've been referred for an internal and HyCosy, and the Dr freaked me out mentioning my FSH had been slightly high, which my GP hadn't told me. I emailed asking for the results as I didn't think to ask on the call, and the wait time for procedures. I had thought I'd maybe be able to pay private but is this not an option for these procedures? X

Kamiros · 04/06/2021 10:19

Welcome @HJen22

@willithappen how are you doing?

willithappen · 04/06/2021 12:58

@HJen22 I did get a BFP yeah. Im currently 9 weeks and anxiety is through the roof to be honest. Had a scan at 8 weeks as well and saw heartbeat and everything fine, I'm just struggling with worrying something will go wrong. I don't have morning sickness so I think that adds to the worry. Who'd have thought I'd be asking to be sick! Haha

I had a HyCoSy with Aberdeen as well. It was the only other investigation they gave me before putting on waiting list

2mumlife · 04/06/2021 13:11

@itsmschanandlerbong Thanks for starting a new thread!

@HJen22 Welcome to the group!

HJen22 · 04/06/2021 13:33

Thank you for the welcomes ❤️ I hope elsewhere in Scotland is sunny like we have today!

@willithappen congratulations 🥰 I can totally imagine the worry after trying for so long. But that's great you had an 8 week scan and another soon. You always imagine you'll get morning sickness don't you, however those who I know have had it, it sounds horrendous!

Did you find the HyCosy ok? I think it may be a few months til I get. Dr asked if I wanted internal and HyCosy and I just said yes, I'll take anything. But depending on what they find at the internal they may not to do HyCosy. But I'd rather have both booked and wait a little longer than have one then another long wait for the other. X

itsmschanandlerbong · 04/06/2021 13:34

Welcome @HJen22! I think you can pay for those procedures privately but I'm not sure how much it would cost. A woman I used to work with paid for investigations privately so she was added to the waiting list quicker. At the moment, the waiting list in Glasgow is around 10 months from being added to beginning treatment, not sure about Aberdeen. There might be an Aberdeen specific Facebook group you could join and ask questions. I've found the Glasgow one very helpful.

@willithappen I have heard IVF pregnancies can be so anxiety filled. Hopefully as you approach the 12 week mark that begins to ease ❤️

willithappen · 04/06/2021 13:42

@HJen22 I'm quite bad with pain, but I did manage to get through the HyCoSy. I won't lie it's not easy and there are sharp pains but it's over quite quickly. Take some paracetamol and ibuprofen beforehand :)

My internal didn't show anything, but we went with HyCoSy just to rule out tubes being blocked. We didn't get on waiting list until after the HyCoSy was done.

@itsmschanandlerbong so much anxiety. I don't know if it will ever actually stop now to be honest. I don't 'feel' pregnant and I just want full blown symptoms so I can feel fine. I had to stop myself booking another private scan for tomorrow. I have one booked for 10.5 weeks as it's my birthday on 17th and wanted to tell my mum then. The anxiety of waiting until then again! And to think most people only get two scans through whole pregnancy with nhs. I don't know how we do it.
No one ever really talks about how intense it is those first 12 weeks. I know I need to stop reading the horror stories but can't stop googling everything

HJen22 · 04/06/2021 14:41

@willithappen I wonder why the Dr offered me both on the same day in the same sitting, I hope it's not to do with the FSH. I googled that and it was a bad idea! Especially as I don't know how high it was over what it should be. Damn google 🙈

It must be very nerve wracking but try and stay positive, plenty rest and relaxing. I can really understand that after so long and wanting it so bad it's an anxious time. Right now I just can't ever imagine getting that BFP I so badly want!

@itsmschanandlerbong thank you; when I asked the Dr about paying she didn't really say anything other than I don't think so. So I've asked the reception staff but not heard back. I will have a look on Facebook thank you! After my social media break; sometimes it just gets a bit much!

Comiston34 · 04/06/2021 14:54

@Kitekat81 My LH surged due to starting cetrotide slightly late as we thought the cycle would be cancelled at the 1st scan. I think it's slightly common in DOR/POF women unfortunatly.

I have started Norethiserone tablets about 1hr ago after call saying our screening bloods were back. I wasn't really expecting them to get back so quick so had resigned myself to next month so it's come as a wee bit of shock.. But exciting! I feel like I'm taking it a bit more in my stride this time and less focussed on it. Time will tell!

I've been allowed to use my leftover medication from 1st cycle with Create so saved a packet! it's the small wins...

GemmTryTTC · 04/06/2021 15:32

Yay @Comiston34 fingers crossed!

Anybody else felt/feels exhausted with stims? I've done two days twice daily 150iu menopur, one tonight and fyremadel/menopur from tomorrow, and I am feeling exhausted and a bit bloated, not sure if it's all stress/psychological or if it could be from stims that early on! I have the first scan on the 9th and I can't wait to know how things are going!

2mumlife · 04/06/2021 15:46

@GemmTryTTC I felt tired on the fyremadel first few days. I was on menapur and felt fine on that.

itsmschanandlerbong · 04/06/2021 15:48

@willithappen I can't imagine the anxiety. Just let yourself feel however you feel and don't beat yourself up for it ❤️

@HJen22oh I know that feeling well, I often take social media breaks, it definitely helps!

@Comiston34 oooh that's fantastic! What a lovely surprise!

@GemmTryTTC I felt the exact same for the first few days, also felt a bit like I had brain fog. It did ease, but then the bloating intensified 🤣

I'm feeling much better today. I was feeling pretty low and overwhelmed yesterday. I got up early this morning, went for a long walk, listened to a podcast, caught up with a friend, made a healthy meal plan and went to the shops, then showered and have chilled on the couch watching Greys Anatomy since. I definitely underestimated how much of an impact starting this has had on me.

GemmTryTTC · 04/06/2021 17:16

Thanks @2mumlife! I start fyremadel tomorrow, we will see how it goes!

@itsmschanandlerbong Yes, we have some brain fog situation going on too haha!

willithappen · 04/06/2021 18:02

@HJen22 my first visit was pre Covid so it was in the clinic and they did the scan/weight/smoke test etc that day there and then. We then spoke through my past and decided HyCoSy from there so I was put in the list for that for two months later :)

@itsmschanandlerbong thanks. It's so hard when it's all I can think of

Kitekat81 · 04/06/2021 20:35

@Comiston34 that's fantastic you could start this cycle! And amazing news you can use your leftover medication 🙌

Argh not good about the lh surge though. That's my biggest fear at the moment, that I'll get down to Manchester and they'll pull the plug after the first scan 😬

@HJen22 don't worry I don't think the suggestion to do the scan and hycosy on the same day has anything to do with your FSH, it's just for convenience I think! Ideally you want your FSH to be less than 9 or 10. Mine was 10.7 so slightly high.

@itsmschanandlerbong glad you've had a good day today!

@willithappen glad to hear that things are still progressing well with your pregnancy, though sorry that it's such an anxious time for you!

Scottishrunner · 04/06/2021 21:32

Hi everyone was wondering if anyone who has had treatment at gcrm could offer any advice. Was wondering how long after the nurse planning appointment treatment normally starts? Not trying to rush the clinic but wondering how much notice you get for letting work know etc.

2mumlife · 04/06/2021 21:34

@itsmschanandlerbong I found my first fresh cycle really overwhelming. What I did get as drug effects @GemmTryTTC was the most hideous emotional/hormonal rollercoaster, really between egg collection and up to a maybe 2 or 3 weeks after BFN. Some of it was emotional but I think a lot of it was going totally off the rails on hormonal interference. I'm dreading doing a fresh cycle again - I'm hoping this FET works though and I wont need to face a fresh cycle until a baby #2

Kamiros · 04/06/2021 22:35

@scottishrunner We were only a few weeks after our nurse planning. I wasn't expecting it so it was a bit of a shock. When is / was your appointment?

Scottishrunner · 05/06/2021 08:21

Thank you! Probably getting a bit ahead of myself as we have just finished the online consent forms and will contact GCRM on Monday to arrange the nurse planning appointment (I’m assuming there will be a wait for this). Organising my annual leave can be a bit tricky so just trying to get an idea of timescales to make things slightly less stressful!
