Starting this thread early!

We've just booked for our second round to start August 2nd with egg collection September 8th.

I was on the Jan/Feb thread earlier this year.

Come join me :)

@Gensola that's exactly the same as me, couldn't walk, was bent over double in pain. But in my first cycle it didn't happen. Weird. What stage are you at now? x

@foodiefil not too bad at all! Ours is Sunday so very glad to have the day off and we also plan to go to the beach if it doesn't work :)
I'm OK thanks - busy day at work today so I haven't had time to think about it much but when I do I'm just really worried that I have no significant symptoms or anything that hints that it's worked. And I know that's normal but I just really want to have morning sickness or something unusual Grin
What about you? How's the wait going?

foodiefil · 15/09/2021 17:20

@beachbum85 Symptom spotting is the bane of my life. It really doesnt mean anything though that you haven't but i know exactly what you mean you want a SIGN. I keep poking my boobs. Nothing. I've got a bad head. But most things can be related to progesterone anyway :( i'll be thinking of you on sunday

@Novavee that's great news that your missing follicles have reappeared, and your scan went well! It's only normal to worry and this is only the beginning of it... it'll be worry throughout pregnancy, then birth.... then newborn.... never ending. It's only natural! I am a worrier myself too and i came into this journey very naive. Since having my first scan i think it's brought me to reality a bit more. But so happy you get your EC on Friday too!

Yours is before mine, i trigger tonight at 11:30pm, so EC is Friday at 11:30am.

@2mumsandason did you get your call for trigger time yet?

beachbum85 · 15/09/2021 17:38

@Novavee oh, I missed your earliest post! That's great news! I'm so glad you had a good experience today and can go into your EC with your mind at ease :) sorry about the freeze all but hopefully you can transfer not too long after xx

As @ngy21 said, it's normal to worry. I'm not even a worrier usually and this process has me worrying all the time... I don't think there's any way out of that but I hope the trigger goes smoothly for both of you tonight and @2mumsandason and that you enjoy your med free and scan free day tomorrow :)

Gensola · 15/09/2021 17:56

@foodiefil my OTD is Friday, we had a 5AA fresh embryo put back. I tested yesterday in afternoon using a normal test not a FRER and it was negative so I am now very worried, even though I know it was stupid time of day, wrong test and too early. Waiting now until Friday morning when I’ll just test with the clinic test - planning a bottle of wine and a hot bath if it’s a BFN!!
We do have a frostie but this will be the third failed transfer for me if it is BFN so I think I’ll have to have some tests before trying again, the usual blood clotting, immune s etc. I certainly will be insisting that they change something, I get frustrated by their attitude of oh let’s just wait and see. It’s easy for them to say that while collecting our money for endless failed transfers!

2mumsandason · 15/09/2021 19:02

@ngy21 and @Novavee eek, very exciting! I had my call and triggering at 8pm tonight so EC is 8am on Friday morning - apparently it's the first of the day!

Thanks @beachbum85 😊

Thanks @Lotusflower1990000 - glad your EC went well today...hopefully mine will go smoothly too!! 🤞

foodiefil · 15/09/2021 19:18

I’m really sorry - I hope it’s not but I understand you’re worried. But that sounds like a good plan if it isn’t what you want. It definitely helps to think if it’s not this time what can I do that I haven’t been able to do for a while. Or where can I go. It’s our second go and we’ve never had any frosties so if this doesn’t work it’s the full round again, private too 😞

@beachbum85 @Novavee Thanks both. Will pop back in tomorrow with an update. Feeling ok about the waiting to know. Feels a bit easier with it being a freeze-all as all I can do at the moment is focus on recovery after EC anyway, and trust that those little embryos are doing what they should be doing.

2mumlife · 16/09/2021 08:31

@Gensola I understand its frustrating. I had a BFN with a 5AA fresh transfer before and a chemical with a 4AA. Even with what appears to be a very high quality embryo, they aren't always viable. I was told even at my age (32) there is about a 30% chance of an apparently healthy looking day 5 blast not actually being genetically viable, and that percentage increases with age, which is why some choose to go down the PGT route to prevent multiple failed implantations

foodiefil · 16/09/2021 11:52

I don’t know if I’m getting a cold or covid but for the last 2/3 days I’ve had a bad head, sniffly nose, some sinus pain and today I woke up feeling dizzy.

Could this be the hormones? Has anyone else felt like this? Really don’t want to be sick right now!

OP posts:
beachbum85 · 16/09/2021 15:00

I haven't @foodiefil sorry, but I really hope you feel better soon and it turns out to be nothing!

@2mumlife glad you're doing well with the wait... I have everything crossed for good news tomorrow and hope you're feeling OK after EC xx

Thinking of you today @Gensola and totally understand your worry. Keeping everything tightly crossed for a happy surprise tomorrow but, yes, I'd totally push for more tests and a different approach if this transfer doesn't go ahead as planned xx

@Lotusflower1990000 I hope all went well with your fertilisation update xx

Gensola · 16/09/2021 17:21

@foodiefil sorry to hear you feel unwell. I think the hormones can run you down and make you more susceptible to things for sure.
@2mumlife thanks, it’s so frustrating and I am starting to worry that there’s something wrong with me, since embryos don’t seem to hang around. I guess we always had known we’d do three cycles if needed and I just have to play the long game.
@beachbum85 thank you! Looking forward to testing tomorrow so I can have clarity and also, wine if it’s bad news!

foodiefil · 16/09/2021 17:34

Thanks both @beachbum85 @Gensola I think that’s it, just a toll on your body, it’s probably thinking what’s going on.
Will be thinking of you tomorrow too @gensola xx

Lotusflower1990000 · 16/09/2021 20:34

Hey @beachbum85 I had 6 fertilised which I am really happy about but trying not to get my hopes up as you just never know how are you are itching for Sunday to come this is test day for you right ? Hope you have had a lovely week so far xxx

Baby dust to everyone waiting I found this article about eating McDonald’s fries after transfer and the comments under it have made my day www.onehangrymama.com/how-mcdonalds-french-fries-can-help-your-ivf-cycle/

Xx

Gensola · 17/09/2021 06:33

BFN sadly, as I suspected. At least we have one good frostie so this cycle isn’t over. I will be asking clinic for thrombophilia and immune protocol and hoping to do aFET before Christmas or Jan at latest. Love to you all and thanks for your support and kindness 💜

Gensola · 17/09/2021 07:16

Not to be one of those people who can’t accept reality but my bathroom has a really dim light and DH just noticed that there is a faint second line on the test when he took it to kitchen to throw out. I kept my negative tests from transfers one and two for ages and they were stark white, they never had evap lines so now I’m wondering if this is positive and I just didn’t see it?

beachbum85 · 17/09/2021 07:24

@Gensola I can easily see a line - not sure it has colour to it but there's something there! How long after you took the test did that show? I'd run and get another if it were me...

Lotusflower1990000 · 17/09/2021 07:26

@Gensola I can see 2 lines too the 2nd is faint but it’s definitely there I agree with @beachbum85 I would take another xxx

beachbum85 · 17/09/2021 07:33

@Lotusflower1990000 that's great! Glad you're happy and hope they keep going strong :) xx
Yep, OTD is Sunday for me and we took the day off to have another long weekend and continue hoping it worked 🤞🏼 I are the fries, so.... [Grin]

@Novavee @ngy21 @2mumsandason good luck with EC today!! xx

@foodiefil hope you're feeling better today xx

Gensola · 17/09/2021 08:06

@beachbum85 I’m not sure, it could easily be an evap line, I wish I had taken it into kitchen within 3 mins to check as bathroom light is really dim. The other alere tests I did for FET 1 and 2 were completely white tho even days later.
I think I’ll ask the clinic what to do.

foodiefil · 17/09/2021 08:36

@Gensola I can see something. It’s similar to what happened to us in our first round, clinic said to test again in 2 days. It’s excruciating because it isn’t a definite answer and the hope remains!
@beachbum85 thanks lovely I do 😊 xx

@Novavee @ngy21 @2mumsandason good luck with Today ladies sending you lots of love ❤️ xx

99pctpractice · 17/09/2021 10:03

Good luck everyone who has their egg collections today!

@Lotusflower1990000 congratulations on 6 fertilised!! That’s a great figure - fingers crossed they all develop well.

@Gensola good luck for testing today!! Thinking of you.

I had my post-cycle consultation with the consultant yesterday. She said it is almost certainly down to chromosomal abnormality of the embryos that we didn’t get pregnant. She’s going to slightly modify my medication for the next round, which will hopefully start in October, but it pretty much sounds like we just have to hope for good luck and a good egg. I’m 40 and at my age she said that if they do PG testing then they would only expect 1 in 6 embryos to be genetically normal and unfortunately I have low AMH so not enough eggs/embryos to be as selective as would be ideal (or for it to be worth doing the PG testing). Anyway, we’re going to give it a couple more goes and then see where we are (financially as well as emotionally….!). She’s hoping for more eggs next time but I’m just hoping that we have something to transfer again…

99pctpractice · 17/09/2021 10:05

Sorry, I totally missed your photo @gensola - that definitely looks like a faint line to me!! Do you have a frer you could do, they might be able to pick up more than a regular test !!
