Starting this thread early!

We've just booked for our second round to start August 2nd with egg collection September 8th.

I was on the Jan/Feb thread earlier this year.

Thanks KatRee :) Yes indeed, and no use worrying about the next one in the meantime - that's what I'm repeating to myself haha

Nerdalert · 03/09/2021 13:54

Finally got my appointment for tomorrow morning! 😁 nervous!

beachbum85 · 03/09/2021 14:43

@Nerdalert so exciting! what time are you in? :)

Goldilocks2528 · 03/09/2021 14:50

Hi @beachbum85 congratulation on your egg-cellent news!!! I am so happy for you and have everything crossed. Thanks also for asking about yesterday, and hello to @2mumsandason, @99pctpractice too. Luckily I got to the event about 5 minutes before my boss did, so he was none the wiser! It was a stressful morning. Scan went well though, currently have 4 follies in the left and 3 in the right which is more than I was expecting as I had 2 in each total last time. Start stims tomorrow which will be interesting as we will be driving to pick up other half's son first thing (it's a 5.5 hr round trip) so got to stop at a services on the way for him to do my 2 jabs. As I say... will be interesting. Not quite sure how that will work! If you see a BBC news alert about a junkie shooting up in a services car park, don't worry, that will just be me....

Goldilocks2528 · 03/09/2021 14:51

@Nerdalert Oooh exciting!!!!

Goldilocks2528 · 03/09/2021 14:53

@2mumsandason Good luck for 4pm, let us know how the scan goes x

beachbum85 · 03/09/2021 15:07

Thank you @Goldilocks2528!! Haha I'll be watching the BBC just for you tomorrow Grin
Jokes aside, that does sound like a bit of a stressful start to stimming, but I'm sure you'll manage somehow and it's great you can start and, especially, that you have so many more follicles this time :)

Great to hear you managed to get to the event before your boss too!!

Nerdalert · 03/09/2021 16:19

@beachbum85 @Goldilocks2528

2mumsandason · 03/09/2021 17:21

Had my scan and everything is as it should be - lining nice and thin at 3.1mm 😊 ready to start my stims tomorrow! x

Jennyhunter · 03/09/2021 17:40

Got bit back pain today and talk about eat I can't stop!

Hansoo · 03/09/2021 20:10

I still don't feel anything. No implantation bleeding. Pretty worried. I am 5dtp

KatRee · 03/09/2021 21:00

Same @Hansoo with the no symptoms 5dp5dt
Had a Google though as I'm compelled to do and there are lots and lots of sources saying that's normal, doesn't mean anything, etc. So no need to worry
I guess we wait ...
Hope you are doing ok x

KatRee · 03/09/2021 21:06

@Goldilocks2528 @2mumsandason - hope the stims go smoothly, exciting that you're getting started!

Hansoo · 03/09/2021 22:38

For any lubion injectors out there another thread on this forum suggested Emla cream. It has a small amount of lidocain in and you can put it on the area you expect to inject 30 min before and it helps with the pain.
The pain was so bad yesterday I was crying. Today I used the cream and it was like I had just started injecting and there was mild stinging.
It cost me about 5 pounds from Lloyd's pharmacy. Someone else I read used it for a tattoo and sat with it on his skin in cling film for an hour or so before.

Hansoo · 03/09/2021 22:52

I came across this timeline on baby net

This is what happens in a day 3 transfer :

1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins - the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely implanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

This is what happens in a day 5 transfer :

-1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
0dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst

Morning all, @Hansoo I used Emla cream and I would recommend it. You can also buy the cream with small patches that you stick over the top of the cream to help absorption into the skin. Put it on really thick, use about 1/2 a tub in a 2inch square 30-60 mins before injecting. Although make sure to wipe any cream residue away before injecting so the skin isn't slippery for the needle. My wife works in A&E and she administered my injections with Emla cream beforehand and I had no bruising and only mild discomfort. Also, use alternate sides of your tummy for each day, which aids recovery. I'm day 10 post 5 day blastocyst transfer. Home pregnancy test planned for Wed morning. We are sticking to the full 14 day wait :/
MollyVanDer · 04/09/2021 05:49

Interesting symptom to share for those interested; on day 8 I developed a small cold sore. I did some Googling and this can happen as a result of hormone changes and could be a sign of early pregnancy. However, it could also be just because of the stress of 2WW!
Unfortunately I do get cold sores but haven't had one in about 18 months so I'm hoping it's hormonal changes.

@KatRee @Hansoo do not worry about no symptoms, I've had some mild cramping and tiredness in the first few days and sore sore breasts/nipples day 3 then everything has subsided to nothing until the cold sore arrived day 8. I think our bodies are all different. Hope you're doing okay

Gensola · 04/09/2021 07:15

@MollyVanDer that does sound like a good sign! Keeping everything crossed for you and your DW. Handy that she is a medic, DH had a steep learning curve on the medication!!

@Hansoo I’m so sorry your jabs are proving so painful, I think I’ve seen on FET threads before that they give some people terrible bruises. I hope the cream helps x

Clinic should be calling me this morning to say if any embryos made it to day 3 and to schedule our transfer for Monday, if they are looking like they’ll turn into blasts. Feeling sick with nerves!

Gensola · 04/09/2021 10:16

Day 3 update came through with 4 embryos at 8 cell stage and looking really good. Transfer is scheduled for Monday at 12. Willing at least 1 to make it to then, she said to expect 30-50% drop off.

Nerdalert · 04/09/2021 10:47
