Starting this thread early!

We've just booked for our second round to start August 2nd with egg collection September 8th.

I was on the Jan/Feb thread earlier this year.

Come join me :)

Thanks @beachbum85!

Yes, how did you get on today @Goldilocks2528? Hope things weren't too stressful for you!

99pctpractice · 02/09/2021 19:14

Aaah @Nerdalert maybe I need to invest in one of those!! @SerendipitySunshine I find the lubion no worse in the legs as long as you get fat instead of muscle. But wherever i inject it, I find the site is sore for a couple of days afterwards….I didn’t have the same issue with any of the others, so I think it’s just the lubion.

@Goldilocks2528 hope it all went well today!! I haven’t told me work either and found it quite stressful having to gamble on when I’d need time off for egg collection and then come up with a convincing explanation, especially when I had to move it (!) so hope you managed to find a good one for your boss today!!

Jennyhunter · 02/09/2021 19:30

Hi just joined this site, currently on my 2nd icsi 1st was 2006 that failed then 2011 I got cancer and took me 10years to get myself sorted, cut long story short I FET transfer there on 1sept transfer day 3 divided 8 cells testing 11sept.
Today I got cramping could this be implantation or is it to soon.

Also treatment private at GRI Glasgow.
Wishing you all lots of baby dust

Glad EC went well @beachbum85. It's hard not to focus on numbers isn't it, - let's keep reminding ourselves that it's quality that counts and there are so many stories that show it just takes one- like it did for @99pctpractice 's sister! Thanks for sharing that one @99pctpractice , that's so lovely.
It is hard not to worry about quality isn't it? It just seems like it's such an impossible thing for them to test for- at least with the quantities like ovarian reserve, we know straight off what we are dealing with, but the quality aspect seems to be a mystery, especially when you throw in medicated cycles because you always wonder if it's the innate quality of the eggs that's an issue or whether they've been affected by the meds. I think for now I just have to acknowledge Google does not have the answer and put it out my mind for now.
Sorry, rambling on...

KatRee · 02/09/2021 19:39

Hi @Jennyhunter - wow, that's quite a journey you've been on! Congratulations on your transfer and 🤞for a positive result.

Gensola · 02/09/2021 19:55

@KatRee I have literally spent all day googling and reading ancient threads on numbers. I defo need to not do this tomorrow.
@99pctpractice that Lubion sounds so painful - I was planning to ask for it too, as I’m worried about pessaries absorbing in the day when I’m at work and can’t lie down after it.
@Jennyhunter welcome!

2mumsandason · 02/09/2021 20:17

@Jennyhunter welcome to the group - I'm sorry to hear of your difficult journey to get to this stage and best of luck with this transfer!

Did anyone else feel really bloated when on bruserelin? The last few days I've felt really bloated and hoping it's not just me putting on weight!!

2mumlife · 02/09/2021 21:12

@beachbum85 Hey! Yes I'm just starting stims, great memory! Sorry, I fell behind following this thread, and also decided taking a step back from this thread was probably needed - it's hard looking at other people's egg collection numbers when we had a poor response last time, and with this being a freeze-all too decided I didn't need to hear any more about other people's BFPs really. Been feeling a lot more emotionally protective of myself this time around. Things are otherwise good though. Eating so much damn protein in case that makes a difference, booked into 2 accupuncture sessions next week in case that makes a difference, basically just throwing myself into this whole heartedly as I can for the next 10 days. How are you getting on?

MollyVanDer · 02/09/2021 21:28

@Jennyhunter your story, what you've been through, I send you huge positive thoughts.

I'm day 8 of 2WW 1st time IVF ICSI. This forum has been helpful in recent days just to read that others are going through similar yet often very different journeys.

Keep the hope.

MollyVanDer · 02/09/2021 21:30

@Gensola I've done the same with researching numbers and probabilities. Searching google for an answer that it really can't give me, but doing it anyway because it's hard not too! Wish you well

Gensola · 02/09/2021 21:53

@MollyVanDer thanks, good luck with your TWW, I found that excruciating (I had two failed FETs from cycle 1). I broached embryo adoption where you have a donor embryo and donor sperm to DH but he isn’t keen at all. Sad I’d feel a lot better if we had a good plan B but I don’t think we are going to agree.

MollyVanDer · 02/09/2021 22:21

@Gensola perhaps something you could lean on a counsellor to help you and your DH work through? Sorry to hear of your failed cycles. We're you able to try ICSI?

We had donor sperm because I have a DW even then the sperm wasn't good enough so the embryologist had to use ISCI to fertilise.

Wishing you well.

Gensola · 03/09/2021 07:21

@MollyVanDer yes we had ICSI in the first cycle too as DH had a vasectomy 15 years ago so his sperm had to be surgically removed.
My eggs are fine so I think donor sperm would improve things, or a donor embryo, which I would also be fine with.

beachbum85 · 03/09/2021 09:31

All our 6 eggs fertilised!! :)
Very very relieved, of course, but last time our problems came later with embryo development, so I can't help but worry, but I'm just trying to enjoy this update and not think too far ahead 🤞🏼 🤞🏼

Nerdalert · 03/09/2021 09:36

@beachbum85 amazing news!! So pleased for you!! Sending lots of love and positivity for you! Today I get my email to say when ET is...Sat just staring at my phone

beachbum85 · 03/09/2021 09:42

@Jennyhunter welcome and so sorry to hear the difficult road you've had to walk to get here! Congrats on your transfer and wishing you the very best of luck with this transfer xx

@KatRee so, so hard not to worry about quality. We had a 4month wait for our follow-up of our last cycle (and it didn't even happen in the end) and I went crazy Googling all throughout. I think we just can't know... Our embryologists had said it could be a sperm quality issue, but also egg quality, or stim protocol issue, so that's practially everything right there. I think we just have to do the best we can and trust the process, hard as that might be. Having said that, if this time doesn't work either, I think I'll be investing in the The Egg Quality Diet book and go back to It Starts With The Egg, but I feel like it's too early to think about that for now....

@2mumlife glad you're doing well and sorry for pulling you back here when you decided to take a step back, which I totally get! I just remembered that you were around the same time as @2mumsandason :) I ate so much protein too... don't want to see chicken breast for a long time to come... and who knows if it helps but I guess it's worth a try! Enjoy your acupuncture too and take care of yourself over the next 10 days! Keeping everything crossed for you xx
I'm well, thanks, and just trying to keep calm until (hopefully) transfer...

Thank you so much @Nerdalert - lots of love right back to you! I hope that email comes in soon!!

Gensola · 03/09/2021 10:04

@beachbum85 that’s great news! So pleased for you. I feel time is going sooo slowly 😂 I have just arranged to meet a friend for coffee and a walk this afternoon. Can’t wait to hear tomorrow for my day 3 update but also terrified at the same time.

ngy21 · 03/09/2021 10:41

@2mumsandason good luck for your scan today!!! Keep us updated :) Also i don't think i was ever bloated on buserelin. However i feel more side effects on stims (just a warning@) - i imagine since my ovaries are waking up and working overtime to produce more eggs... today is only my day 3 as well lol hopefully will only need to stim 10 days!

@beachbum85 great results and fingers crossed for them to turn into healthy blasts!

@Jennyhunter welcome! Fingers crossed for your OTD

@Nerdalert hope you get your email soon!! Excited for you :)

beachbum85 · 03/09/2021 10:41

Thank you so much @Gensola!
I can totally understand - I'm nervous about Sunday and more so about Tuesday, if we get there.... But nothing much we can do but wait! Coffee and a walk sounds great :) I've planned lunch with a friend tomorrow as a distraction

beachbum85 · 03/09/2021 10:48

Thanks @ngy21 keeping everything crossed!
Sorry to hear about the side effects - stims were worse for me too but I felt they got better after the first few days, so I hope your body will get used to them xx

2mumsandason · 03/09/2021 10:51

Congratulations @beachbum85, that's great news!! I've got everything crossed for you!

@ngy21 thanks...scan is at 4pm 😊 yeah I can imagine stims make you more bloated...I don't feel as bloated today so hopefully it was something and nothing!

beachbum85 · 03/09/2021 11:48

Thanks very much @2mumsandason :)
And good luck with your scan later... let us know!

2mumlife · 03/09/2021 12:41

@beachbum85 Not at all! I think these forums are just tough when you're not seeing the results that others are getting is all, so trying not to let it get to me so much. Its good to see how you're getting on though (had a little flick back as couldn't remember where in cycle you were) and its fantastic all your eggs fertilised. Do let me know how you get o,a and fingers crossed!

KatRee · 03/09/2021 12:43

@beachbum85 - great news ! Do try and enjoy it- another hurdle jumped! x

beachbum85 · 03/09/2021 12:44

Many many thanks @2mumlife! I'll be keeping everything crossed for you too and I'm hoping for great results that you'll want to come back and share :) let me know and very very best of luck xx
