IVF August/September cycle buddies

Starting this thread early!

We've just booked for our second round to start August 2nd with egg collection September 8th.

I was on the Jan/Feb thread earlier this year.

Come join me :)

So ET happened this morning. There was one pretty good one, a couple ok, and one not great. Because of my age, etc, they said we could transfer up to 3. We decided to go for it, expecting a super slim chance of all 3 catching, but hoping one might make it. Tues I have a blood test to check I'm on the right amount of progesterone. And my official test date will be Thurs 9th with a blood test. So I'm officially in the tww, although in my clinic they say the two weeks to testing starts at egg collection as day 0, so i suppose I'm already part the way through.

Hi all, had a busy few days so just catching up on all of the posts. Looks like there has been a lot going on!

Glad to hear there is some good progress going on after EC's and that people are starting to prepare for EC at the beginning of the week!

I've still been having a few side effects to the bruserelin, but not too bad on the whole. With my scan being on Friday, I'm really hoping I'm ok to start menopur on Saturday and get things moving to the next stage. Seems to be taking forever!!

Had embryo transfer this morning, current have a wee embryo on board! Hoping to also have 1 to freeze, they want to give it a bit more time and will let me know either later today or tomorrow 🤞🤞

@2mumsandason glad to hear the side effects are manageable and I hope time flies till Friday for you :) do you have anything planned for the bank holiday? that makes the week feel a lot shorter for me

@TanBr sounds like things are going well - really exciting!! did you test today as well? It must have been so hard to have no news for 5 days... I bet you're glad that bit is over now!

I hope everyone else is doing well too and having a great long weekend! I must say I'm glad we're off tomorrow as it makes it easier with the extra scan and also meeting some friends makes the time pass quicker... hard to think of much but IVF though and not sound like a broken record...

BeechBum85, I didn’t test yesterday. Official test day is tomorrow so I have that one to do. I have a clear blue to use it sounds daft but I’ll probably use it before the heartbeat scan. After the last time I have kept it all pretty quiet in too scared to tell anyone if been doing it all. Though I do keep telling the dog he’s going to be a big brother and the cat a big sister. There response is can I get a biscuit?

Progress scan this morning: 25 follicles of which 6 are over the 18-20mm mark so nurse thinks I’ll be triggering tonight for egg collection on Wednesday. I am a bit annoyed as I really wanted a fresh transfer and my clinic will make me have a freeze all if they take 25 eggs, so I hope that some follicles are empty.
Last time I had 25 eggs of which 22 were mature but they were really poor quality so I was hoping for fewer eggs of better quality

We are just en route to mine. Had the call from the lab and they say
1 embryo going back in. Its a 5aa grade and you cant get better than that. Theres a second embryo they are freezing which is 4bb. A third embryo that is making slower progress but may still be able to be frozen. The fourth one died.

Just had my transfer. They suggested putting two back in so I thought if that was their advice then it was worth going for it. Neither were quite as well progressed as they might have liked, but good quality, so they were hopeful that one would stick. Hopefully we’ll have one more to freeze, we’ll find out tomorrow. If we do, I think we’ll go for the pre-screening. Has anyone else done that?

I have my first DR scan tomorrow, very excited and nervous at the same time as I'm not sure how well I have responded to Meds, but if all goes well means I can start stims 😬😬😬

My discharge information was literally nothing. Live life normally was their advice

Hansoo, mine gave me a list of food to eat/not eat and to stop running. When I speak to them I’d (because it’s going to be +), I want to start up short and slow. It really helps me keep the weight off, cos I love love my food.

@hansoo the nurse just told me not to do anything that would make me second guess myself. Which I thought was pretty sound advice…

I’m triggering tonight and egg collection 8am Weds!

I've been a complete mess the last couple of days. Since Saturday morning's chat with the embryologist, I was so scared I was going to end up with nothing to transfer. Happily they had one blastocyst waiting for me today, now safely inside. They think there could potentially be one more by tomorrow, which would be great, but just so relieved to get one for now.

Afternoon everyone.

EC went well, uncomfortable and not something I'm looking to do again if I can help it but hopefully totally worth it. We have 14 eggs and less than 24 hours before our call from the embryologist to see how many embryos we get!! Got everything crossed for a day 5 transfer!!

Congrats to everyone who are PUPO right now and congrats to all those with successful scans and ECs booked in!!

I did a big girl (happy) cry in theatre when the Doc said we had 14 eggs! Wasn't expecting that many at all! Now to wait on quality! 🤞🏼🍍😊

I'm now on the couch with a hot water bottle!

Thanks @beachbum85 - we've had a pretty chilled one, just seeing family really. Been starting to get really tired - last night I fell asleep at 7.30 and didn't wake up until gone 8am this morning!!! Yet somehow I am still tired today...god knows how that is possible! 🙈

Congrats to everyone who has had their EC's and ET's! It must be such a mixture of nervous and excited emotions - I'm guessing more nervous! You have all done a great job so far and has helped to reassure me of what's to come!
