Hello 👋🏼!! About to embark on the absolutely terrifying process of IVF in June (once my next cycle finishes) and though it might be nice to get chatting to some people going through the same? Meds due tomorrow and bloods booked in for Saturday - Let me know if you are in the same boat would be great to get some support from some fellow infertility warriors ❤️x

@Coops0406 well done!

Coops0406 · 04/06/2021 06:18

@Tealismycolour 9 is good and the weekend is enough time for them to catch up.
I haven't noticed a metallic taste, but I'm on different stims

@Cat028 that's a nice bit of news having your EC date moved forward. Your week and a half will be finished in no time!! When I went yesterday they said they were scanning all day so they must just put you on tablets for as long as they need to time it all into their schedules 🤷🏾‍♀️ it's fascinating!

@PurpleUnicorn01 when are you expecting your bloods to come back? Will you then need to ring them to inform them of Day 1 of your cycle?

Cat028 · 04/06/2021 10:04

@Luan82 was everything okay with the cyst? Did it delay your treatment?

@Coops0406 I was so excited when I got that call. She was like you don't have to but we have an opening. I was like YES!!!! Did you take the norethisterone at the same time every day? Are they strict with timing for it? It's so fascinating. When I had my first scan at the clinic she was explaining everything see could see and showed me my ovaries and womb/lining. So interesting!

Luan82 · 04/06/2021 10:09

@Cat028 it didn't no, basically they said if there is a cyst they can drain it during egg collection so it makes little difference to the protocol - I'm feeling surprisingly Spritely after the first injection last night, lucky enough to live on the outskirts of the city so went for a lovely walk this morning instead of my usual run, I stuck my headphones in and just let my mind wander it was fabulous. !! 🌾🌻🌾🌻x

@Cat028 I took it at approximately the same time as I was working so literally just before I left the house, then lunch then with my evening meal...if I didn't I would have forgotten to take them. I also chopped the packs into groups of 3 so I knew I had taken them for the day...definitely a good tip if you're like me and forgetful! 🤣

chloedancer897 · 04/06/2021 10:35

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me joining. I recognise some of your names from other threads! I've been TTC for #3 for 3 1/2 with no success after having no previous issues. I was diagnosed with unexplained secondary infertility. We just finished trying clomid with no success and have our consent appt for IVF next month. Any advice is welcome, I haven't a clue what to expect at this appointment. They've asked me to bring questions but i don't even know what to ask! I'm nervous and excited in equal measure. Ready for the process to begin now. Good luck to everyone xo

PurpleUnicorn01 · 04/06/2021 11:26

@chloedancer897 welcome! My consent one is next week. I think they are pretty thorough. U got a ton of videos to watch before anyway.

chloedancer897 · 04/06/2021 13:08

@PurpleUnicorn01 yes I have to go through all that. Are you excited?

Cat028 · 04/06/2021 19:04

@Luan82 that's good. It amazes me the things they can do. Aw fab! What a view you have. Very lucky! It's lovely to get lost in a walk sometimes isn't it!

@Coops0406 that's a very good idea!! Thanks for the tip. My clinic told me today that I could take all 3 at once. Which would make it so much easier. I get so easily sidetracked in work as it's so busy!

@chloedancer897 Hi and welcome! The only advice I'd have is as questions pop into your head write them down and don't be afraid to ring and ask if you remember after your appointment.

Ofpalestsilver · 05/06/2021 14:47

@chloedancer897 hi Chloe- . Hope it all goes well for you! It’s scary and exciting all at once!

I’m absolutely shattered today and bloated beyond belief. Very glad to I have no more injections except trigger tonight. My last fyremadel gave me bad reactions - swollen itchy and red.

Coops0406 · 05/06/2021 15:32

@chloedancer897 hi 🙋🏾‍♀️ welcome! Definitely think about things beforehand and write a list...I am always apprehensive in asking questions and then massively regret not asking or pushing for further information. My first consultation for ivf was via video and lasted just under an hour which was great, the consultant explained loads and I wrote quite a bit down...but that was my one and only thorough appointment...the rest have been quite poor really.

@Cat028 that's good they said you can take them in one go! At least you won't forget and can have them before heading to work!

@Ofpalestsilver it's getting closer!! Not long now! How are you feeling about it all?
Let us know what the trigger is like. So far I have had no problems with fyremadel...just getting it in is harder so the OH tells me, I think a slightly bigger needle. But I don't feel anything going in unlike with meriofert, I feel every last bit getting squeezed in 🤣

Ofpalestsilver · 05/06/2021 15:43

@Coops0406 haha yeah I feel the Menopur going in for sure. Feels like I am being filled up with liquid!

I’ve done the trigger three times before and it was fine!

busybee2102 · 05/06/2021 17:52

Hi everyone. I hope you don’t mind me joining. I’m 38, husband is 43. TTC for 3.5 years. On day 8 of stims (Gonal F) of our first real cycle (starting down regs on Xmas eve but cycle was cancelled at first down reg scan due to high BP).

Have 3rd stim scan on Monday and fingers crossed for EC on Wednesday. Very nervous, never had any kind of anaesthesia or surgery before! Had 10 follicles on Friday so fingers crossed we get some eggs.

Very crampy and ‘heavy’ feeling at the moment. Just curled up on the sofa!

Ofpalestsilver · 05/06/2021 18:02

@busybee2102 welcome! How exciting. How much gonal are you taking? The sedation is really chilled, nothing to worry about at all. It’s just like a nice sleep!

busybee2102 · 05/06/2021 18:07

I’m on 300ius of Gonal F - was from the start. I’m not a skinny girl, that’s for sure, which is why they started me with a higher dose.

busybee2102 · 05/06/2021 18:09

@Ofpalestsilver I’m a newbie to the forum so not sure how this all works - I clicked reply to your post but it didn’t mention you or anything!

Ofpalestsilver · 05/06/2021 18:14

@busybee2102 think you have to put the @ in front. I’m not a skinny girl either! Though I don’t really ovulate and haven’t since I was a much smaller person ha. I started on 300 but then went up to 450 a day using two different meds.

Coops0406 · 05/06/2021 19:25

Hi @busybee2102 and welcome! I think you are similar to me with scan on Monday and provisional egg collection Wednesday 😍 great that you had 10 follicle at your last scan too! So far I've only had headaches and backache, and knackered! Time for us all to rest up and be looked after...or at least that's what I'm telling OH! 🤣

@Ofpalestsilver what time will you do the trigger tonight?

Ofpalestsilver · 05/06/2021 20:43

@Coops0406 9pm so very soon!

busybee2102 · 05/06/2021 21:34

How did the trigger go @Ofpalestsilver?

Ofpalestsilver · 05/06/2021 21:40

@busybee2102 All good, thanks. No more injections now. Wow. I’m feeling a bit restless this weekend. No work to distract me so I’m just drifting about eagerly awaiting Monday. I think the next week will be tough. How many eggs? Will they fertilise? Will any be freezable? A friend just had a disappointing cycle so I’m nervous. Will try to take it a day at a time.

Cat028 · 06/06/2021 17:39

@Ofpalestsilver aw bless you! Have you done much to keep yourself occupied? What time is your EC tomorrow? Sending positive vibes your way. Every cycle is different, I now it's impossible but try not to compare yourself. Like you say one step at a time!

@Coops0406 definitely! I'm so forgetful and often distract myself so that makes things a bit easier! How you getting on with the injections?

@busybee2102 hi 👋🏻 welcome!! How are you finding your stims? I feel exactly the same about the EC and anaesthesia but a few girls on threads have reassured that it's nothing to worry about. Fingers crossed they are right! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I started taking my norethisterone today. ☺️ Feeling fine so far!

Coops0406 · 06/06/2021 18:14

@Cat028 did you take all 3 in one go? Not long now until the injections start! Mine are going fine...I have slept most of the day on and off today! I have no bloating really, but just lethargic, headaches and back ache! Looking forward to my scan tomorrow to actually get a bit more info about what's going on in there as worried it's not much with the lack of bloating!

@Ofpalestsilver hope all goes well tomorrow, will be thinking of you on our drive to Chester in the morning! What time are you due in?

busybee2102 · 06/06/2021 19:06

@Cat028 They’ve been ok so far, I’m struggling a bit with period pain-like cramping, particularly in the evenings. I think I’ve come off pretty lightly side-effects wise though. Have my 3rd stim scan in the morning so fingers crossed - I’m a planner normally, like to know what’s happening and when, so the unknown ‘go with the flow’ aspect of this process is what I’ve found hardest.

@Ofpalestsilver All the best for tmw, fingers crossed for a nice batch of mature eggs!

Coops0406 · 06/06/2021 19:53

@busybee2102 hope you scan goes well tomorrow too 🤞🏾
