Egg collection this week- anyone else?

Currently on day 9 of stims and hoping to have egg collection Friday.

I'm Day 14 of stims and triggered tonight. Egg collection is Wednesday!
How you feeling?

Wednesday for me. Trigger shot due in 15mins. Feeling nervous really, as of this morning I had 5 follicles on the right and none on the left. My AMH is low (6.8) so I should have been prepared, but I just assumed that the meriofert would have worked magic...
As they say, it only takes one egg 🤞🏻

They say quality over quantity though and they can grow from now until egg collection. Good luck. I'm so nervous ! Never had anaesthetic or anything like that before! X

@swirls3468 I'm nervous about the sedation too! But they have said it will be like drifting off to sleep and then waking up 15mins later none the wiser.
I woke up so early today that maybe I'll be so knackered tomorrow I'll drop off of my own accord!
I'm at a service within a hospital so my DH will have to wait in the car (apart from doing his bit!). I'm trying to be a bit brave as I know it upsets him to think that he won't be able to be with me while I'm waiting to go in.
I'm trying to keep my happy hormones up to encourage more follicles 🧘🏻‍♀️

12 days stims, trigger shot yesterday and egg collection on Wednesday!
I had couple of sedations before so nothing to worry about ,it is really very nice nap.

@Veex21 I'm feeling ok! Just a bit nervous. Just want it over with now. I feel rather sick every day as well and bloated as hell. I just keep telling myself it will all be worth it 😆

@Veex21 I'm feeling ok I think. I also want it to be over. Keep telling myself that nothing lasts forever, so even though I'll be nervous on the 65 mile journey (😬) tomorrow morning and while I'm waiting to be sedated, I'll soon be on my way home.

For various reasons we are embryo banking at the moment. I have low AMH (6.5) and a baseline of 6 follicles. Last time was fairly similar numbers. I had 7 retrived, 6 mature, 5 fertilised, 4 blasts and 3 passed pgs testing. all AA or AB.

so now to hope we can repeat at least that

@Bells3032 💐 for your wait. I hope you get the results you want. My AMH is 6.8 so similar to you. This is my first round so I feel a bit clueless about what will actually happen once they see how many eggs I have, or how I will cope with the results.

Just got the call out of 6 retrived, 5 were mature and 4 have fertilised. next update is thursday. so same pattern as last time with one less egg

This sounds really promising. I've heard it soo many times about it's about the quality of eggs. also AMH can't predict everything. My AMH is in the 70s so they were worried about over stimulating. But my left ovary hasn't responded half as much as the right and there were 2 follicles that had grown to the right size. We will see how many eggs I'll get tomorrow! Will be interested to find out.

I feel like I have grotty period pain but hopefully that will ease in a bit.

Well done ! I had my egg collection this morning too and we are also paying extra for the special incubator. I can't wait to hear how many fertilise. Rest up! I just feel very sore and groggy from the anaesthetic x

@swirls3468 you too 💐 I feel like I have really sharp period pain that is worse when I walk around. Luckily I woke up and came to really quickly from the sedation. Just so tired now, not surprised though as I was up at 6.15am and probably only got 6 hours sleep. Not enough for me!

How is everyone doing?

I had my egg collection today. Quite deflated about the results.
My first ivf cycle they got 28 eggs. Today's retrieval just 6. I have pcos and I had lots of follicles during scans so not sure what happened.

Hoping to get some good news tomorrow about fertilisation.

2 of my 5 eggs had fertilised on day 1. Hoping they'll make it until day 3 tomorrow and then day 5 transfer on Monday 🤞🏻 This is all we get on the NHS, so if neither of them make it to Monday we'll have to get the credit card out and start again. Will cross that bridge if we get to it 😬

@Dbop100 that's great 💐 it's so hard isn't it to stay in the moment and not be thinking ahead. One of my friends is having IVF and she said the best thing to do is treat your body like you will be having an embryo transfer. Try to ring fence the stress and worry for later, so your blood pressure isn't through the roof for 5 days.
Might be easier said than done!

Congrats on the eggs! Praying they keep growing. You've put the thought of wine in my head and I wasn't gonna have one. Thinking stupid things like it will hinder the transfer etc. Let's be honest. It's not gonna make a blind bit of difference. So here I am sipping a nice glass of cold white wine. Doing something for ME! IVF has taken over my life these past few weeks so this feels good!

@CurbsideProphet yes so much easier said than done! I wish I knew the magic button to stop being stressed. You're right all you can do is take things as they come day by day. We just don't know what's going to happen but my gosh I wish the time would go quicker!

@swirls3468 🥂 cheers! I think after all the waiting and the shots and the egg collection we've bloody well earned it. Also surely whilst the eggs are out this is a small window where a glass or two definitely won't hurt and the mental health benefits of relaxing with my husband outweigh any risk.

Anyone else had their day 2 update? Just heard both of ours have 4 cells each and are looking great, feeling hopeful we can get to day 3 but slightly dreading the drop off after that. Might have to distract myself this weekend and do some DIY!
