Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

OTD today. Still scared and waiting for some proper symptoms to kick in so that I feel like I have tangible daily evidence that it is still in there and doing ok but feeling happy we've made it this far 😊

Ahhh, congratulations @Nix49816 - this is fantastic news & makes me feel hopeful that this process can work Smile. I’ll keep sending lots of positive thoughts. Xx

Thanks for the warm welcome, @Georgie87B - it’s nice to know there’s someone else at the same point as me! I agree with the nerves - my anxiety has been pretty bad this weekend; worked myself up last night in case I’m meant to be taking buserlin or Bemfola still & spent a good hour panicking and checking online. Overall, I’ve felt a little tired and sore from EC, but pleased it’s done as it was the part I was most anxious about. Had quite a bit of blood yesterday so that worried me too but the nurses said it was okay. How are you feeling lovely?

I’m keeping everything crossed for our little embryos. I’m sure everywhere does it differently, but they don’t want to disturb them so I won’t know anymore about quality & final numbers until I get there on Wed. Xx

Nix49816 · 16/05/2021 09:40

@Flissa7 thank you, that's what I'm trying to think, even if this time doesn't get us there, it does actually work. I'm taking hope from that as it was starting to feel impossible!

DoctorBambino · 16/05/2021 09:47

Haven't caught up on everything but couldn't ignore your update @Nix49816 CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Don't worry about lack of symptoms it's still v early 🤍

StrongEagle · 16/05/2021 10:01

@Nix49816 congratulations!! I'm so so pleased for you x completely understand your caution but this is truely wonderful news x

StrongEagle · 16/05/2021 10:03

This forum is so supportive and everyone shares so much, I love it!

I think this journey would have been much harder without this group. Having people going through the same thing at the same time really really helps x

Nix49816 · 16/05/2021 10:05

Awww thank you all do much for your kind comments, they really mean a lot. It's so nice to be able to share this with you all as we're not telling people yet. It was too hard losing the last one it seems easier not having expectations from people, only told one friend but my parents etc don't even know we're doing IVF yet!

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/05/2021 10:24

@Nix49816 so happy for you!! 🎉😊

esperanzada · 16/05/2021 13:53

Hi all, so glad I have found this chat... I have just completed IVF drugs and had trigger shot last night for egg collection tomorrow morning. This is my first time IVF and will be using ICSI as MFI. I wish I had found this chat sooner as it’s quite lonely and nice to be able to speak with people going through same thing as friends and family are lovely but just don’t understand.

It has been a great insight reading through all your comments and wish everyone all success as I know how difficult this is.

I took my trigger yesterday at 9pm and enjoying an injection free day as I’m petrified of needles however did anyone else have quite a sore stomach where trigger shot went? It’s starting to wear off now but can still feel it Confused

I am trying to get used to all the abbreviations so bare with me lol

Tarsette · 16/05/2021 14:09

@Nix49816 @Crazydoglady123 @mowglika congrats on your BFP’s! That’s wonderful news! I do understand the caution, when I was pregnant with my daughter, I was only able to relax after 12 weeks! But there is no reason being pregnant after IVF should be any more risky than a natural pregnancy. And those work out all the time!

AF just showed up (one day late) so I get to start injections tomorrow I guess! Will have a baseline scan and hopefully can finally get started...

Crazydoglady123 · 16/05/2021 14:23

@Nix49816 bet that was a nice feeling seeing it on the digital!

@VenusStarr where has that time gone! Good luck for tomorrow.

@Tarsette thank you. Yay to af for a change! Good luck with your injections and scan.

Welcome newbies 👋

Coops0406 · 16/05/2021 14:27

Hi @esperanzada welcome! I too am struggling with the abbreviations! A lot of googling has been done 🤣 great that you've managed you're injections and have your day without having to think about it! I'm similar as in first time for ivf too, but only start injections at the end of may so am a bit of a way behind. Hope it goes well for egg collection and look forward to seeing your progress 😊

Bells3032 · 16/05/2021 15:20

@esperanzada welcome and good luck with your egg collection tomorrow. Don't worry the people on here are so lovely and will be happy to explain anything you need

Georgie87B · 16/05/2021 15:34

@Flissa7 ahh egg collection was the bit I was most worried about too.. Im not feeling too bad this morning felt a little cramoing/pulling pain now and again but apart from than not really any bleeding. I find the progesterone (I'm taking crinone gel) is making me a little hormonal but guess that's to be expected. Fingers crossed for good news for you on Wednesday!
Im not sure if I find out how my little embryos are on Monday or Tuesday think I'm getting a call Monday to arrange transfer details.

@esperanzada welcome to the group!! Best of luck with EC tomorrow! I know it's easier said than done but don't worry it's over and done with before you know it 😊 let us know how you get on! 🤞

@Tarsette so pleased AF arrived and you able to get started with injections! 🎉

Sounds like lots of exciting times in the group with lots of things happening next week can't wait to hear everyone's updates! ❤️

Flissa7 · 16/05/2021 15:45

Pleased you’re doing okay, @Georgie87B - I’m also feeling quite emotional & teary, but I wasn’t sure if that was the Cronine gel, the anxiety of hoping all goes well in the next few days, or a mixture of everything! What time is your transfer on Tues, hun?

Good luck for EC tomorrow, @esperanzada, and well done for getting this far if you’re terrified of needles! I also had a real fear but something about being injected constantly seems to have taken the edge off of it!

Sending lots of luck and positive thoughts to everyone in the coming days ♥️.

Georgie87B · 16/05/2021 16:34

@Flissa7 ahh glad I'm not the only one feeling emotional youre right it's probably everything all rolled into 1 and the progesterone not helping! 🙄 Not sure exactly on a transfer time yet should know more when I get a call from the clinic tomorrow 🤞 from this week my clinic is starting to allow partners in for transfer so my OH finally get to feel a little bit involved which will be nice.

Flissa7 · 16/05/2021 17:25

@Georgie87B nope definitely not just you! Fingers crossed for great news when the clinic call tomorrow & yay to your OH being allowed to join you for ET! Sadly mine can’t, so he’ll just have to sit in the car and wait! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Xx

Hoping4baby21 · 16/05/2021 17:42

@esperanzada welcome!! Good luck for your EC tomorrow.

@VenusStarr good luck for your EC tomorrow aswell!

@Nix49816 that must have been an awesome feeling seeing it on a digital!

@Louweeze welcome! I've not used ovaleap before but I'm starting on it tomorrow for my first cycle. Only 150iu but I have a high AFC and I'm doing mild IVF. The consultant said they have seen good results with it and also people needing less stims to get similar results. I looked into some studies which also back that info up. How have you found it so far? Any side effects?

An update: AF has shown up and she graced me with her presence before 12pm which is unusual for me. Stims officially start tomorrow!

strawberrysummer19 · 16/05/2021 18:12

Hi everyone!

Lovely reading though all the messages

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend

I'm having my 2nd scan tomorrow where I will have been on day 5 of stims - can anyone let me know what they will be looking for at this stage ? Obviously how my eggs are responding to drugs - do you know if they would potentially book EC after scan 2 or maybe one more scan?

I'm so excited but also anxious as I've only had baseline scan on Wednesday

Also I'm starting fyremadel injections tomorrow too Ive been told x

strawberrysummer19 · 16/05/2021 19:28

Also does anyone have any experience with fyremadel injections themselves ?

I've just read the packaging and it is saying something about testing the needle and if it draws blood to disregard and use another ?

Bit worried about these ones x

Louweeze · 16/05/2021 19:37

@Alexm06 ahh we're stim buddies! Have you had any side effects yet? I'm worried at the lack of side effects that it's not doing anything!

@VenusStarr very similar AMH levels then. It's good to know how many eggs you got. Our consultant was very honest and said we wouldn't get many eggs but I have no idea how many to expect?! I'll be so disappointed if we get none but from what I've read that hardly ever happens.

@Nix49816 ahh congrats! It's so encouraging to know that this process does work for so many!!

@Hoping4baby21 no that's what I'm worried about! I had a headache the day after my first stim injection but nothing since then! Did you have many side effects from your stims? I've read about mild IVF and how it can be beneficial if you have a low AMH. Oddly I have a normal AFC I don't know much about how AMH and AFC are linked but I assumed if one is low the other one is too but clearly thats not the case!

Is anyone on any special diet? I'm trying for the mediterranean diet but it's sooo boring and I keep falling off the healthy wagon and eating cake!!

Aprilia123 · 16/05/2021 19:40

@strawberrysummer19 Not part of this thread, just hopping in (doing a cycle end of June) but I had the exact same thought about fyramedel so I asked the nurse the other day for this cycle, and she said not to bother with the pulling the plunger out to check, just inject it - because you’re only doing thigh or stomach you’ll only hit capillaries (I hit one or two last time, tiny bit of blood, no I’ll effect).

Alexm06 · 16/05/2021 19:49

@Louweeze nope no side effects yet! Which I guess is a good thing. I didn't get any on my last cycle either but I'm on a higher dose this time so was expecting some. Just have to wait a see haha.

@strawberrysummer19 I used fyremedal on my last cycle and the same again on this one. I've had different nurses both times and none of them have said anything to me about the blood. The only thing with fyremedal was it was red and itchy after I injected but that stopped on like day 4.

strawberrysummer19 · 16/05/2021 20:07

Thank you @Aprilia123 thank you @Alexm06
That's good to know thank you x
