A thread for those who are undergoing infertility investigations / IVF in Scotland 🙂

I always go before I leave but still needed 🤣 Probably cause I was up all night and nerves.
Thought I'd check about the door cause sure there's another usually. So many people with baby carriers so if you hadn't thought I'd warn you.
Actually got hit with a baby announcement just after we left. Actually had to laugh, if I saw that on TV before I'd have thought what's the chances ? 🤣

Booked an appointment for scan and bloods with GCRM for next week then have a consultation with a dr mid March. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Nervous and mainly sad. I’ve been really struggling with the emotions of it all at the moment. Had tried to look into maybe having some counselling as I’m not really coping but felt a bit overwhelmed when I had a look. I feel so sad and angry that we might have to go down the route of ivf to have a family. I am a little excited that we’re making a positive move. Will be good to get some more information and advice at least.

Glad you're all set @pixelflower. I was on Gonal-F when I had DD and the pen injection things were actually totally fine. DH did mine though! Do you have a schedule of what the plan is over the next few days and weeks?

I'm so sorry you're struggling @Rosie189. It is really tough and feeling sad and angry is totally normal. Glad you've made your appointment for scan and bloods and hopefully this time next month you'll have your appointment.

I got a copy of our referral in the post on Monday. Felt sad but then had to laugh when the Dr referred to us as a pleasant couple - quite concerned he has mixed us up with someone else

@Rosie189 I've been there, and sure I will be again. Think it's a type of grief and you go through all the stages. Right now I've accepted that this is what's happening and there's no reason that we won't finally get what we've wanted. If it weren't for Covid I'd have been keen for counselling but I'd prefer it in person.

@florafoxtrot I'm on 150 of the Gonal-F for now and add in Cetrorelix from the 15th. I'm back 19th and 22nd for scans and hopefully EC after that 🤞 I'm on holiday from the 22nd and husband has taken most of that week off so hopefully doesn't get pushed back.
I'm pretty sure ours said "pleasant couple" too 🤣

I have to go in for an extra scan on Friday on top of the others because I have 34 follicles so they want to keep an eye on that
Start stims tomorrow 😬 bit overwhelmed with it all but I'm sure it will be fine!

@willithappen would that be the day that they usually do but aren't right now as standard? I was actually surprised at how easy it was to do the injection. Probably helped that husband was in the car waiting for me so couldn't faff. Went for it and was in and never felt a thing. I'm working tonight and actually feeling ok about being able to quickly nip off and do it.

@pixelflower no it's one that would happen just slightly before then :/

@willithappen ah. I wouldn't worry too much. I think you must not be too high. I had 27 so I'd guess your on the lower end of needing the extra scan, if that makes sense.

Yeah hopefully everything ends up okay! Staying on the positive side :)

@pixelflower I think I was doing the first jab right as you posted good luck! Thank you! I didn't do this one myself 🙈 so more panicking for tomorrow when I do it myself and then Wednesday when it's the next injections!
How are you getting on with yours? When do you add in the second one?

Are you going to have to do it from tomorrow? Can't get someone to do it? I keep having to do mine quick which I think helps.
I start the second ones on Monday, not looking forward to it as I'll be at work.

Yeah the second one looks more intense. I have already forgotten how she said to put it together so that's what panics me

I can feel a bit of pressure on my left ovary at the minute but not sure if it's from this or not. A bit gassy

If you can I would, no need to add extra stress if you don't have to.
I think I'm ok, getting odd feelings around there but not sure if I'm just hyper aware. I was a bit mad at the start of work last night but that was obviously nerves about injection as was fine as soon as it was done.

@pixelflower what time have you been doing yours? I'm doing mine around 7pm
Looking forward to weekend being over so I can go back to working and being distracted because I keep thinking about it non stop yesterday and today and analysing every little feeling I have haha

@willithappen I've been doing mine about 8:30pm. I'm off work from Wednesday and don't know what I'm going to do with myself 😶 Will be glad to be off though, I had some concerns about being there my last shift.

@pixelflower oh no what happened the last shift? I guess it's good to be off and get a bit of relaxation though!
Just done my second one now. Thinking I might try doing it myself tomorrow. Now I'm panicking about the other one haha.
Honestly can't wait until egg collection is here and over already.

How is everyone doing, all ok I hope? I’ve been off this past week and had time during shifts to catch up on how what’s happening! Massive congrats to you @jonrik!! Exciting news and gives us all a bit hope am sure! How are you feeling?

@pixelflower and @willithappen how are you doing? I started suprecur nasal spray last Monday and other than bloating and a yukky aftertaste in the back of my throat..all good so far! Got baseline appt booked on for 25th so really hope all goes to plan!

Trying to keep myself calm and relaxed doing loads of walks..not easy with the crazy weather we’ve been having but during my breaks at work been exploring Edinburgh lots which has been nice!

@willithappen just unpredictable patients, almost got a foot to the stomach. Think it's good I'll be off when I'm closer to EC. Before I started EC seemed so far away and now not so much, but I know what you mean. Part of me hopes on Friday they'll say I'm ready and won't have to wait till Monday, but husband couldn't get the Monday off work so later in the week would be less stress.

@Paige2207 That's good you've not had too many side effects. Hope all goes well on the 25th 😊
I've been terrible about going out for walks the past few days. The snow wasn't so bad but the wind I hate.

Hi @Paige2207 all good here, aside from the over thinking of absolutely everything haha. How are the sprays?

@pixelflower oh gosh a kick there doesn't sound good. My partner leaned on my stomach earlier and it was quite uncomfortable. Again I don't know if it's a side affect or if I have just become super cautious of that area now. I do think I have a bit of bloat going on though!
Are you in on Friday for another scan? I'm on Friday too! That will be my first monitoring scan that they brought forward by three days. I'm also hoping I get EC earlier than expected. My friend who has had a transfer I'm so jealous of her being passed this part. Dreading EC haha. I'm SUCH a wimp

@willithappen mine gave me a hug from behind earlier and hit a funny bit. So hard to know if it's coincidence or not. Have found I've got less appetite than usual, which isn't a bad thing 🤣
Yeah, plan is I'm in Friday and Monday at the moment. Thread should be busy Friday! 🤣 How's your friend doing? I think that's the but I'm dreading, being back to waiting 🤦

@pixelflower I'm the same! My appetite has completely gone. Forced some food down me earlier just to keep myself going

Maybe we'll bump into each other Friday! 🙈 what time are you in? I'll be eyeing anyone I see wondering if it's you lol. I only saw one other person last time I was in though.
She's good! She's really taken all this in her stride so far and absolutely smashed it. I believe she has two in freezer also and waiting on an update tomorrow on another two. It's a full 15 days after transfer that they have as her test date. Don't think I could wait that long!
