@conall we initiallyvwent through the NHS a few years ago and it took about a year before we could be seen. Then because my bmi we couldn't proceed. Fast forward 5 years and we are going private with GCRM and we're on a call last night. I'm sure he said their waiting time just now is about 5 months but we have our initial assessment on the 12th April to follow up with a consultation 2 weeks later. I think the wait times for private are generally shorter but I don't think going looking into both will do harm either way.

Lots of people do that and choose whichever comes first.

We are looking at the fertility plans for payment as I'm not keen on paying 6k for 1 cycle when I could pay 7k get a couple of cycles and unlimited FET. We cannot afford to do this a 2ndbtime so this is all or nothing with everything crossed.

Definitely speak to your GP/Gyno/NHS for clarity though. Xx

conall · 17/03/2021 19:26

Thank you @Ttcforever2021 this is definitely something that we will need to think about it. I've just got my BMI under but it's taken me 3 years to do so definitely ready and I don't want to wait too long with the NHS. I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you! The option for unlimited seemed great when I read up about it last night but from the price list it said 9K and my eyes were nearly watering! Glad to hear your able to get it a bit cheaper but definitely still a lot of money so wishing you all the luck!

LabradorMum · 17/03/2021 20:15

Hey @pixelflower @willithappen, how are you ladies? Well the cetrotide was a nightmare, I couldn’t get all the liquid back into the needle and some leaked out before I could get the other needle on, what a mare!!

pixelflower · 17/03/2021 20:41

@LabradorMum I hated the Cetrotide the first night. The different needles really muddled me up, had to check it every night which was which.

Tomorrow is our official test date but timing was better for tonight. Sorry if test talk upsets anyone, but I never actually joined in the monthly chats so it's really only people on this thread that know where I'm at. So tested a few hours ago and it was positive, kinda in shock right now.

LabradorMum · 17/03/2021 20:45

OMG @pixelflower that’s amazing news, couldn’t be happier for you ❤️😍

@pixelflower oh my god!!!
This is amazing news! I feel I could cry tears of joy for you!
How are you feeling? Any symptoms?

Ahhh so chuffed for you! 😍😍

pixelflower · 18/03/2021 07:36

Thank you everyone, can't believe we've finally got this far.
@willithappen it's so hard to tell what's the progesterone, nerves or actual symptoms. Apart from sore boobs that's kinda varied I've not really had anything at all. Felt a bit sick at points yesterday but that's usual for me when I'm nervous. Actually nervous to take the official test this morning, which seems stupid when I got a strong line before the time last night.

GemmTryTTC · 18/03/2021 08:50

@pixelflower congratulations!!!!! That's amazing :) Gives me hope!

willithappen · 18/03/2021 09:50

@pixelflower have you taken your official one now?
Ahh honesty I am so over the moon for you!! Let's hope this is a lucky lucky thread!

pixelflower · 18/03/2021 10:18

@GemmTryTTC Thanks, glad it's helping give you hope 😊

@willithappen I have. Not as strong as the first response last night but definitely two lines there. Been on the phone to the clinic and got my seven week scan booked. Almost started crying just typing that 🤦 Thank you, I think I'm still in too much shock to be over the moon myself 🤣 Hope it's an extremely lucky thread! 🍀🤞🍀💕

LabradorMum · 18/03/2021 10:54

So exciting @pixelflower, so happy for you it’s amazing to go through all of this online together and get brilliant news like this ❤️

willithappen · 18/03/2021 12:20

@pixelflower your 7 week scan must be pretty soon? Are you 5 weeks now (I think it works out?)

pixelflower · 18/03/2021 12:36

@willithappen 5 weeks on Saturday I think. Scan is the 5th of April, and he gets to come in with me 😍 We haven't walked in there together since our first appointment over a year ago now.
@LabradorMum can't believe us three have been comparing appointments and chatting for four or five months now! How are you getting on?

LabradorMum · 18/03/2021 12:58

@pixelflower so exciting that’s no time at all, can’t wait to hear how you get on!! I know it’s bizarre isn’t it. I’m good no bad affects at all occasional twinge but nothing like what I thought it would be like hope that doesn’t mean it’s not working 🤦🏼‍♀️

pixelflower · 18/03/2021 13:26

@LabradorMum it's such a long wait till that first scan to see how it's working. I didn't really feel anything till near the end so I'm sure the meds are quietly working away 😊

LabradorMum · 18/03/2021 13:34

@pixelflower that’s made me feel better I thought I was maybe doing something wrong. Have my next scan on Monday so fingers crossed something is growing lol

willithappen · 18/03/2021 18:01

@pixelflower amazing! That's so good he can come with you! Ahh can't wait for that for you! Hopefully I'm on my FET meds by then!

@LabradorMum the only thing I felt was bloating and that obviously only largely came on toward the last couple days. A bit of pressure in my ovaries also (but I did have 17-20 follicles in each side so felt a lot. Even then it wasn't too bad. I had one or two nights where it took me a while to sleep because I wasn't comfortable with it.
I also worried that I wasn't feeling anything with it. I was able to get on with my day completely fine after always

itsmschanandlerbong · 20/03/2021 11:21

@pixelflower fantastic news, congratulations! Gives us all hope that this process works ❤️

I had my ART appointment on Thursday, I was so anxious about it, just made the BMI requirement 😅😅 I've lost almost 1 stone in 5 weeks, so I'm just going to keep trying to lose weight. Consents appointment on the 8th then I can book in after that. It's all becoming so real!

Paige2207 · 20/03/2021 11:47

Hi @itsmschanandlerbong that’s amazing news about your BMI and 1 stone loss! Well done you! 😊

May I ask what ART is? Seems some of us are going through different treatments and finding it all really interesting..and I’m a tad nosy 🤣

I had my baseline appt again on Tuesday there, Transfer booked in for Thursday next week. Off the busrelin now - thank god! And still using Progynova & started pessaries yesterday..not the nicest but I’ll live haha!

Hope everyone is doing well! How are you feeling @pixelflower? Gorgeous day again 😎 x
