A thread for those who are undergoing infertility investigations / IVF in Scotland 🙂

Probably not the most original @willithappen but it's helping me, so thank you for triggering the thought.

Won't lie, I'm petrified for tomorrow! So scared of OHSS. Gonna have an early night I think (if I can - my head is over thinking like mad)

@willithappen how did you get on with the trigger? Been thinking about you today and how you're feeling. Does your partner get in with you for this? Feel like they've been very aware of the potential of OHSS for you and done everything they can to minimise the risk so I'm hoping that you'll be fine. An early night sounds like a good idea, even if you get a broken sleep hopefully you'll still get a decent amount. When are you in tomorrow?

@pixelflower it was okay yeah! I had buserelin as my trigger as it's meant to lessen any OHSS side affects so it's been alright so far, not felt anything different or worse. It's mainly just in my head!

No partner doesn't get in. He has to wait in the car until he is called for his sample and then he'll have to wait until they call him to come get me for us to go home again.
No food after midnight so can't eat anything before tomorrow. I'm at 9.30am for egg collection but have to be at the clinic for 8.30
Praaaying for this to be quick and home and as painless as possible. Just over thinking the OHSS risks. I haven't even paid any attention to worrying about how many we'll get or how many will fertilise either!
How are you feeling?

@willithappen That's good that no ill effects from the Buserelin.
I thought that would be the case but was hopeful, would be better for the nerves having him there.
Ah, I'll probably be in and away before you're there if they're as quick as Monday.
Hopefully they can reassure you about that tomorrow.
I'm overthinking but also trying not to think about it if that makes sense 🤦 Trying not to go in with expectations as don't really feel much different to how I did on Monday so not sure there'll be much of a change.

@pixelflower what time are you in?
I'm kinda glad my partner won't be there for all of it as I think he will stress me more
I don't think he realises how much of a toll this is taking. Tried to tell him I was worried about tomorrow and his response 'well you wanted to do all of this' ughhh

That's lucky then. Bloody men! Sometimes mine will stress me out more by trying to distract me and saying everything will be fine. Sometimes you just need to get it out. Maybe he's worrying more than he's letting on? Mine asked yesterday about the chances of this working and think he's been scared to look. I'm going with there's no reason it won't work so I'm not going to worry about statistics.

Was just thinking how crazy this whole thing is as when we first got our dates through it seemed both of you would go for egg collection before me but not it's switched. Can't predict anything with this!

Yeah men are ridiculous. I just think because he hasn't had to do much during this it's not affecting him as much?

Fingers crossed for no OHSS @willithappen. Relaxing early night will definitely help!

I know it’s bizarre, I will be looking to you both for answers lol. I don’t think most men get the whole IVF 🤷🏼‍♀️

Trying to relax and not think about it. I want to sleep just now also but it's only 7pm and I don't wanna be asleep that early lol

Have I mentioned how excited I am for this just to be over right now? 🙈😂 this time tomorrow when I'm back lying in bed again I'm just gonna feel so relieved (OHSS potential symptoms aside)

Not too bad, @LabradorMum. I'm pretty much symptom-free so far. Just really want that first scan done so I have some reassurances that thing are progressing as they should. It's such a long wait (3.5weeks after OTD). Nearly there though, 10 more sleeps so just need to keep the mind occupied. What's the next step for you?

@jonrik I bet you can’t wait, it’s more waiting again isn’t it after all the time you’ve already waited, but when the scan is done you can start to enough being pregnant. I start norethisterone on Monday for 8 days then first scan on 12th.

@itsmschanandlerbong Thank you. Honestly I can't believe how quickly time has passed. It doesn't seem long ago that we were doing consent forms.

@willithappen it really is so unpredictable.
Think we think differently and men genuinely don't understand how they're coming across sometimes. It's harder with this cause you can't moan about it to your friends/colleagues and have them share in the exasperation.

@jonrik thanks. I'm in for another scan to check my follicles, and hopefully get a date for EC. How are you?

@pixelflower I actually got quite a good sleep surprisingly!
Woke up naturally at around 6am and do have a little bit of cramping right now I'm not sure if that's normal or not.
Sat in the car outside just now, so I'm already earlier than the hour early they ask you to be lol

How did you get on? You'll be in there now as I type!

@willithappen glad you got a good sleep. I left about 8:35 and was thinking you were in! It's so weird.
I'm all set for Friday! Woop! Just need to wait for the call to confirm the time. We're actually down for ICSI, I assume because of the original sample since never got a repeat one. Don't know if they decide on the day 🤷🏼
