ivftake1 · 19/10/2020 22:00

Anyone else on loads of medication that's not licensed for use in the uk?

ivfhope3 · 19/10/2020 23:16

@ivftake1 I didn't even look at mine 🙈.. I trusted them actually i didn't even think. That's bad isn't it xxx

It's totally fine, just some of the best ivf drugs are licensed in Europe but not here but that's probably a cost thing for the drug companies. It costs loads onto get licensed here. Doesn't mean they're not safe.

Trigger shot done. Can't sleep now!

No injections tomorrow which is nice!

ivfhope3 · 20/10/2020 07:02

@ivftake1 good luck lovely xxx

Line this morning was slightly darker but still very faint. Hope it all keeps progressing x

Freezerbump · 20/10/2020 08:28

@Mctm123 exciting times!

Mctm123 · 20/10/2020 09:33

Thanks @Freezerbump I’ve just realised the tests I’m taking are the standard FRERs not the testing early ones! I wonder if that’s why the line is so faint. Does anyone know the sensitivity of these tests? Xx

Raggity19 · 20/10/2020 09:55

Ok so we’ve got 4 embryos and booked in for a 5 day transfer on Saturday. I can’t believe it. I’m shaking. I had worked myself up for no fertilisation again. I know that it still doesn’t mean we’ll get pregnant but this is such a massive step for us just getting an embryo.

One thing I’m confused about - surely they don’t know the quality of the embryos? So how do they know they’ll survive to day 5? Is it not a bit risky?

Mctm123 · 20/10/2020 15:05

That’s good news @Raggity19 fingers crossed for Saturday! They don’t grade them yet. If it’s the same as my clinic you will get a call on day 3 to tell you how they are getting on and then when you go for transfer hopefully on day 5 they will tell you the grades. If an embryo looks more like to survive in you rather than at the clinic they can suggest putting it in on day 3 x

Roo45 · 20/10/2020 15:24

Ah so good you have 4 @Raggity19! Good luck for transfer.
Can I ask you all what your clinics advised for self isolation? Mine said 72 hours before egg collection I work with patient facing services but work are very supportive and I'll be working from home 2 weeks prior to collection but now I'm wondering if I should be isolating for the whole process? 5 weeks seems quite a long time though, but at the same time I don't want to risk our cycle getting cancelled X

Roo45 · 20/10/2020 15:27

And congrats @Mctm123 ☺️

Mctm123 · 20/10/2020 16:04

Thanks @Roo45 I sadly can’t feel happy yet as I’m so worried with it being so faint but to be honest I don’t think I’ll ever be able to relax after all the losses! X

The clinic didn’t advise us to isolate but we have just been following the normal guidelines and I have been at home quite a lot as waiting for a redeployment job to start with work which luckily is at home for 12 months x

Yeesh.. day 7 of stims today... tummy suddenly starting to feel bloated, like a cross between trapped wind and pre period bloat, and quite tired, feels like there's definitely something going on in there..

Just realised I don't have enough gonal to see me through.. I have first scan (at day 10, does that seem late?) on Friday when I run out of gonal... then another scan booked for Monday with a view to have a collection on weds..

So that's going to cost me at least another 800

Not that I have a choice really so it is what it is I guess... just would have thought they'd have given me enough the first time!

Great news @Raggity19 how long were you stimming for?

Raggity19 · 20/10/2020 16:31

How are you feeling @Mctm123 ? They said they wouldn’t even check them between now and then (unless I’ve misunderstood) as they don’t want to disturb them. But what if it gets to Saturday and they haven’t developed?! I’m quite confused.

@Roo45 we weren’t told anything. We didn’t even have a single Covid test?! I at least expected one before egg collection....

@Freezerbump that’s annoying!! But all be worth it...was stimming for 11 days xx

ivftake1 · 20/10/2020 16:55

@Freezerbump I'm so bloated too, I stimmed for 8 days in the end, trigger shot last night and the injection site for that is sore today!

ivftake1 · 20/10/2020 16:56

@Freezerbump what do you mean first scan at 10 days? When was your last scan and bloods?

Freezerbump · 20/10/2020 17:21

@ivftake1 hiya, I had a downreg scan last weds to make sure I was ready for stims, now no scan until day 10 of stims.. I'm sure they know what they're doing but just anticipated more monitoring really.. I mean, I may have no follies so buying another load of gonal when by Friday there may be no point continuing seems a bit daft?
Ughhh maybe I should just trust in the process or something..

Yeah you do have to trust in the process and my protocol is probably very different to yours (I assume we all have completely different protocols actually). I have been scanned every other day since day 3 and then every day for two days, yesterday and the day before.

I'm high ovarian reserve though so they are being careful of OHSS
