November IVF/FET

BambiOnIce80 · 04/09/2020 08:07

... Too soon?! 😁😉

Been waiting on a FET since we were put on July's list and I've heard from our clinic this week that I've to call them when AF rocks up in October for a November FET. We had our fresh cycle in January, had a BFP, but found there was no heartbeat at the 11 week scan in March (MMC) - it's been a bit of a roller-coaster so far this year (as if covid craziness wasn't enough!).

Found having a thread to go through it all with a massive emotional support, so looking for some MN buddies to do it all again with. Good luck ladies and looking forward to 'meeting' you 🍀🙂

@SpyroC woohoo! 🙌 so pleased for you and everything crossed 🤞🤞🤞 thanks for the info re Gonal-F - glad to hear I've got a bit of room for manoeuvre!

@ChicaXS from my experience planned house moves rarely go to plan anyway so I'm sure how you're doing it will work out great in the end 😂 how exciting!

How's the nipple looking @ivfjourney5 ? 😬

Hugs and handhold for you @BambiOnIce80 🤗 I'm sure everything is going fine - a flip out from time to time is totally reasonable, especially after everything you've been through 🤗

Work wise I'm just going to carry on through - I'm in the NHS and we're so busy at the moment 😭 I'm in a clinical/leadership role so will probably try to subtly minimise my clinical work to reduce patient contact. I think it will serve a welcome distraction but I am a bit worried about Covid. We don't have anyone on the ward with it at the moment though🤞

@TheGlitterFairy sounds a bit odd. I'm sure it's okay, try not to worry. Your hormones must be surging at the moment so I expect some slightly odd feelings are normal?

@Birdladybird my best friend had a baby over the summer so I just keep buying stuff for them 🤦‍♀️😂

I've got my scan this morning - feeling a little nervous as it will be the first indication of how I'm responding. Hoping it's all going okay. If they're happy I will start adding in the fyremadel injections tonight as well I think. Hoping a few more follicles might have come out of the woodwork as 4 feels like a very small number! Will update later 😊

Birdladybird · 09/11/2020 07:52

@MGee123 I’m sat waiting for my first scan too. Fingers crossed for us both.

MGee123 · 09/11/2020 07:54

🤞 for you @Birdladybird - hoping it's a good scan day all round!

Birdladybird · 09/11/2020 08:04

@MGee123 thanks. Also having a blood test (done) and waiting for the anesthésie. It’s a long morning of waiting. I think I’ll be starting the fyremadel tonight as well provided all is good, we are synced!

BambiOnIce80 · 09/11/2020 11:06

Good luck for your appointments today @MGee123 and @Birdladybird 🍀🍀🍀

Fantastic news that you're doubly pupo @SpyroC! 🤩🥳🤩🥳 I worked through my previous TWW and it didn't seem to do me any harm but I've decided I'm taking 2 weeks annual leave this time, just so I don't have the work stress and being stuck in front of a computer all day. I want to be able to get up and go for a walk or watch a million comedies if I want to! I appreciate it must be a lot trickier when you're a teacher though and can't just take annual leave 😔 Would your clinic or GP sign you off if you're very worried about it?

Thanks again for your support @ivfjourney5 ❤️ I do feel a lot better about the scan being later than 14 days on the progynova (let's see how long that lasts for! 😂). I do have a session with my clinics counsellor tomorrow, so I'm sure a good rant at her will help keep me calm until scan day 😁 Any word back from your clinic/GP on what they think about the nipple situation?

Oddly enough @Birdladybird I've never been one to look at baby stuff online - I think because after the first few months of TTC with BFN's I just had a bad feeling it was never going to happen for me 😏 We had got a couple of girls names lined up from before we had the MMC, but boys names were proving tricky! Will need to give that a lot more thought if we manage to get pregnant again 🔮

I think very high levels of progesterone can do very funny things to our bodies @TheGlitterFairy, so that could well be something to do with your odd episode so soon after transfer. I'm sure I read last time that implantation happens from about day 3 post transfer - I'll see if I can find the same link 🤔

Good luck everyone waiting for scans this morning and great news @SpyroC... have everything crossed!!

@TheGlitterFairy i will take my final norethisterone tomorrow so should start my period on Friday with baseline scan on Sunday to start the progynova etc... starting to feel a bit nervous! On the funny turn, Are you on utrogestan? I found that made me feel very spaced out for an hour or so after taking it.

@BambiOnIce80, hopefully your rant at at the counsellor helps. Have you also tried mindfulness? Mindful IVF is a good one - the teacher has a lovely Irish lilt 😂 xx

Birdladybird · 09/11/2020 12:08

@BambiOnIce80 I just think I am all round baby obsessed. My DH goes mad at me for getting my hopes up too much but I can’t help it!!

My scan went well. I have 10 follicles on each side, she didn’t say what size they were but that they were good. I start taking my second injection tonight. She pre warned me it would hurt, I wish she hadn’t Confused!! Also saw the anaesthesiologist who told me I would be under a light general for the collection. Everything is so difficult in French Grin I think that’s why I don’t ask too many questions afterwards!!

TheGlitterFairy · 09/11/2020 12:15

@BambiOnIce80 , @BonTon and @MGee123- thanks for the thoughts on the funny turn yesterday. Does seem strange.
I've been on the intramuscular injection once a day for 9 days now (9th day today - counting them down!), no pessaries - just the jab, so a really high dose already. Perhaps this coupled with other things going on raised the level higher which caused it. Will watch out for any more but that was the first one / only one I've had in all this crazy journey so far. Maybe I'm just too stressed and need to chill!! I've decided that symptom spotting is crazy and I need to not do it. We'll see how long that lasts!!

@BambiOnIce80 thanks for the link - that's really interesting to see all of the different stages from the transfer - fascinating really!

@BonTon it'll feel good to come off the norethisterone and have the baseline scan! Totally ok to feel nervous about it after all the build up and thinking about doing it!

ivfjourney5 · 09/11/2020 13:25

Thanks all for the well wishes about the nip, the GP said it's a cyst and has given me some cream, hopefully it does the job!

@Birdladybird I was on fyremadel when I was on stims, it does sting a bit and it gave me a rash for around 30 mins but it does clear up after a while, you've got this 💪🏼

PineappleC · 09/11/2020 16:24

Wow so much to catch up on!

@mgee123 yes there are about 4 specialist companies. It was actually very easy and quick (once I'd done a load more bloody forms)! Hope today's scan went well!

@BambiOnIce80 yes so far so good! But I have thought that for both previous cycles so something in the back of my mind is just waiting for the screw up/issue. Trying to be positive though! I totally know what you mean about being stressed out about every little thing. I think sadly after a MMC it just is a bit harder to relax. I am going to try and take more tine for myself to just chill out this time.

@chicaXS no I'm not on Progynova. Hopefully I will be doing a natural cycle, so no real drugs at all 🤞 Hope the house move is going well and that you can start making it a home properly soon.😊

@TheGlitterFairy congrats on being PUPO! That much be such a nice relief and really hope you get some good news very soon 😊 Progesterone result sounds great!

@ivfjourney5 thanks for the tip, I will do! Taking 1 per day was fine, and just today I have started on 2 so hopefully will be okay!

@spyroc congrats on being PUPO! Everything crossed that it works out 😊🤞

I had my progesterone blood test today. I'm still on the monitoring cycle so hopefully, if the result comes back okay, we will be doing a natural cycle starting next week 🤞🤞 The embryos made it to the new clinic this morning too, a huge weight off my mind!! I just really hope the new clinic are much better!

PineappleC · 09/11/2020 17:45

Just had the call from my clinic, my natural progesterone level at 6dpo is 50nmol 🎉🎉 This is only a monotoring cycle but means that all my own hormones are fine so we can go ahead with the natural FET cycle as soon as my period starts! 😊🎉 Really relieved as my body did not respond well to any of the medication when doing a medicated FET - it didn't absorb any of the drugs right!

MGee123 · 09/11/2020 18:48

Oh my goodness @Birdladybird I'm so jealous of your 20 🙈😂 I always knew we wouldn't get great numbers because of my low AMH - I have 4 follicles growing nicely and 4 more which might still catch up. In my head I'm going for quality over quantity 😂 I have another scan on Wed to see how they're going and adding fyremadel in tonight. They were happy with how things are going so I'm pleased, all things considered! 😅 It's fun being in sync! Have they given you an idea re date for egg collection?

Great news about your bloods results @PineappleC , and that your embryos have travelled safely. Sounds like you're off to a good start for this cycle!

Ive started eating everything in sight the last few days and am so thirsty - has anyone else had this? I'm telling myself I'm preparing my body for the embryo which doesn't exist yet 🤣🤣🤣

SpyroC · 09/11/2020 18:51

Thanks everyone 😊

@TheGlitterFairy That is likely the progesterone causing the sweats. I must say I noticed it with my ectopic but it's probs my too early for it to be hcg related. I was ok going back in the end, to be honest I think the anxiety about covid is greater than the actual risk of it itself. I just need to remain calm 🧘🏻

@MGee123 that's what I've decided on work wise too. Today I had my glasses (I can't see the kids work at the back of the room without them and I can obviously not get close to them), visor and mask on for hours. It's already left red marks on my nose bridge. But I agree it's a good distraction. I hope your scan went well. X

@Birdladybird I avoid baby stuff like the plague. Too me it would be like torture. But whatever floats your boar, if it feels nice, then why not. Wow here you don't meet the anaesthetist until the day of the procedure. Congratulations on your scan. X

@BambiOnIce80 They'd let me work from home if I wanted but I've decided I need the distraction. I'm much better off mentally in school as working from him is sooooo dull. Your plan sounds 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 though! X

@PineappleC that's double good news! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 that a great progesterone level mine only got that high on letrozole, naturally it's around 30. It's all sounding very positive 😊 does that mean no progesterone support if it's a natural fet?

As for me, I quite enjoyed being back in work today. I'm quite achey though, back, knee and right ovary all hurt! I think I was probably tensing up during the transfer. Who knows why my right ovary is twinging when it's solely been the left post transfer 🤷🏻‍♀️. Maybe I should be super positive and assume it's a super speedy embryo implanting! 😂 ...no I've not reached that stage of 🤪 yet, I'll save that for next week of course!

Birdladybird · 09/11/2020 18:52

@PineappleC that’s great news about your bloods Grin

@MGee123 no idea about egg collection but I have to go back on Thursday morning for another scan. Maybe Sunday/Monday? I only have 5 days worth of injections left including tonight’s? Did they give you a date for collection? X

MGee123 · 09/11/2020 19:59

@SpyroC if you have any say in it you can safely ditch the visor to make life a bit more bearable - a mask is the most important thing, at all time indoors when you're around other people if possible. Visor/goggles only really add anything if there is a risk of bodily fluids ending up in your eyes 👀 The virus is airborne so biggest risk by far is breathing it in compared with other forms of transmission. You do acclimatise to the masks over time, it gets a bit easier 👍 I'm trying to convince my husband of the above currently! (Also a teacher)! I've been banging on at him to wear a mask all the time at work for weeks but with no success until the school made it compulsory 🙄

@Birdladybird I have another scan on Wednesday and they said egg collection may be Monday? She muttered something about Friday or Monday but Friday sounds far too soon! 😱😬 Will depend on how things look Wed though I think.

That fyremadel injection stung a bit! My stomach feels quite lumpy where it went in as well. So with that in mind maybe egg collection on Friday isn't such a bad idea 😂

Birdladybird · 09/11/2020 20:10

@MGee123 ouch!! It didn’t hurt when I did it and I thought I’d gotten off lightly but now it’s stinging like a b*tch. I used to have a needle phobia but this is definitely helping me get over that!

ivfjourney5 · 10/11/2020 07:52

@BonTon I'm another advocate for the Mindful ivf meditation app, his voice is amazing isn't it 😍 I drift off to sleep before the 10-15 mins is even over 😂

I hope everyone has a good day today! x

BambiOnIce80 · 10/11/2020 09:49

Thanks @BonTon and @ivfjourney5, my counsellor mentioned the same thing about the mindfulness app (she also has a lovely Irish lilt! 😄). She did warn me that it's a bit like marmite, depending on if you can get into mindfulness or not... she said the look I gave her when she said the mindfulness course she went on started off with getting them to "consider the raisin" (🤨) suggested I may not get on with it! 😂

20 follicles is mega numbers @Birdladybird! Sounds like egg collection could be very soon for you if they're at the right size 🤞

I'm the same @PineappleC with the waiting for the screw up/issue, but I also need to try and chill! 😏 Excellent news on your progesterone 👍 When is AF likely to show up for you?

I'm eating everything in sight too @MGee123 and I'm only on oestrogen pills! 😳 I think I put on at least 3kg from my fresh cycle (and embracing the whole 'eating for two' thing a bit too enthusiastically after the BFP 😬), but mind over matter doesn't really work when hormones are in charge! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Glad everything went well with your return to work yesterday @SpyroC 👍 My job isn't normally a work from home one either, so I get what you mean 😏 I am surprised by how quickly the last two weeks have gone though - long may it continue! I had right ovary twinges after transfer during my fresh cycle too and then when I got the BFP I was certain that the placenta would be developing on the right. I asked the doc at the 7 week viability scan and she said "no, it's implanted at the back left but you do have an impressive cyst on your right ovary" 🤦🏻‍♀️ And I thought I'd got it all figured out! 😂

How's being 4dp5dt going @TheGlitterFairy? Any more funny do's?

Still plodding along with the progynova at my end and still getting sticky CM. In more exciting news, our designer has confirmed that the joinery work for the living room project will be starting on the last week of November, so that should hopefully tie in nicely with me being on leave for ET 🤞 Not exactly a relaxing thing to have going on in the background, but it'll be nice to see the room starting to take shape after weeks of it being an empty shell 😎

Afternoon ladies.

Just came back from the scan and my lining is a whopping 8.1mm! Finally something on my side haha! I used to having scans with bad news so since starting treatment this has been the first cycle that’s started with a positive. The better news is my transfer is now Monday which is excellent. I start the cyclogest and lubion tomorrow and my transfer is Monday. It’s my first ever transfer so I know I’ll be a wreck during The TWW but I’ll try and distract myself lol. Fingers crossed I’ll get a thaw as I only have two frozen embabies!

I can tell the next month is going to be an emotional ride. I love this group though it’s keeping me sane ! X

BambiOnIce80 · 10/11/2020 12:18

Ooooh, that's very exciting news @ChicaXS! 🤩 I am even more jealous now that I don't get a lining scan until this time next week! 😂 Less than a week away until transfer too! With all your exciting house buying stuff going on, I'm sure it'll fly by 🤞

OP posts:
ivfjourney5 · 10/11/2020 13:58

@ChicaXS that's amazing, I'm so happy it's such a good thickness for you!

TheGlitterFairy · 10/11/2020 14:06

Afternoon everyone.

@BambiOnIce80 thanks for checking in! I can safely say that at 4dp5dt I'm not as chilled as I would like to be but I think I could be worse!!! No more funny turns which I guess is a good thing. Time does seem to be going very slowly though BUT a week today we'll know so 7 more sleeps and counting. If I look for symptoms, they're there but of course could all be progesterone related so who knows. Trying to keep busy at work and not wish my life away!

How're things with you? Seems as though the meds are working for you with the CM/ symptoms you have which is good! Good to get your living room project up and under way! We have builders doing a loft conversion currently so it's not that relaxing here either!!! Good for distraction though!

@ivfjourney5 pleased you got sorted with the GP - hope you're feeling better now!

@PineappleC fantastic that the embryos reached your new clinic safely and great news on your progesterone levels too! Thanks re PUPO!! A relief for sure, as only the 2nd transfer we've been able to have in 3 years so a long time coming!! Fingers are crossed!

@MGee123 Great news on your 4 follicles that are growing well with the 4 that may catch up! I was very thirsty on stimms too and just kept drinking lots of water. Exciting to have the EC on Monday!! Will you have another scan before then or that's set now?

@SpyroC pleased that all was ok with going into work yesterday post transfer - great to hear. I suspect you're right about the progesterone causing the funny turn the other day. I've one tube blocked by surgery and the other from the endo so hopefully wouldn't mean ectopic as don't think anything can get own either of them......will message the doc again I think if it happens again though just to check in. Are you managing not to symptom spot?!

@Birdladybird that's an incredible number of follicles!! Think the most I had was 7 or 8! Good to get that scan on Thursday and see how they're all doing!

@ChicaXS congrats on your lining! Wonderful news!! I know what you mean about all the appts being negative and so when you have a good one it throws you a bit! Amazing news of your transfer on Monday too!! Fingers are crossed for a safe thaw!

indigocloud · 10/11/2020 16:00

Hello all! I'm still fairly new to this forum but thought I'd share some updates here for fellow Nov IVFers. Just got the call from my clinic today (d+3 from egg collection), which was a much anticipated call as the last I heard from them, they'd said that of the 7 follicles/eggs collected, 5 had fertilised. So I was just waiting to hear how many cleared the next hurdle. Today, I learned that all 5 seem to be coming along nicely and are rated Grade 1. My transfer will be d+5 so the day after tomorrow.

Obviously, these are still early days and there're loads more hurdles to clear before we can say it was a success, but just wanted to share this little bit of upbeat news. x

SpyroC · 10/11/2020 18:54

Thanks for the advice @MGee123 I saw it last night as was a little less stringent with the visor. I like both as it stops me from rubbing my eyes and makes me feel as if there is an extra layer. My throat is slightly sore as I have to talk extra loud for the kids to be able to hear me. 🙈 I don't mind the mask alone at all really, I quite like that it keeps me warm and hides my bad skin 😂 most staff in my school wear only a visor even though we've been told they're less effective. I've noticed our SLT have now switched to masks though which is a good sign! Our jobs+ivf+a pandemic = a pain in the but! 🤞🏻 if we are careful we'll be fine.

@BambiOnIce80 😂 I was thinking a cyst initially but then it moved from left to right 🤷🏻‍♀️ it's probably just my ovaries settling down. She said the flushing process uses a bigger needle. I am not one for mindfulness either, I tried the app and it lasted for 2 days 😂.

Great news! @ChicaXS I am on the dreaded cyclogest and lubion too. It is definitely an emotional couple of weeks. I love the first week of the tww, it's a nice little pupo bubble ☺️. Week 2 on the other hand 🤪🤪

@TheGlitterFairy I'm only 2dpt so I'm still in the pupo bubble which I love. It's when I start to get my standard endo pains next week that I'll start to go 🤪. I'm hoping the lubion keeps it at bay. Are you managing to stay sane? Are hot flushes linked to ectopic then? I didn't realise that I thought it was just the hcg/progesterone when I had it!

Welcome @indigocloud 🙂

All is good with me. Work is actually making me largely forget I'm pupo during the day which is good! X
