Sept IVF/FET

Lemongrass1 · 28/07/2020 14:10

I can’t see a Sept cycle up yet so thought I’d start one. Currently TTC #2. Our March FET was postponed due to Covid and we had a FET in July which sadly resulted in a BFN last week. Had our follow up last night and to our surprise we can try again straight away so signing consents next week and starting down reg in 2.5 weeks. Told the cycle went perfectly and must have been an embryo issue so we aren’t changing protocol but going for double embryo transfer this time. Anyone else looking to cycle/ transfer in Sept? Or am I a bit early/ keen 😂

Just realised, that is a HUGE Message, whoops! :)

@Sian7919

Just realised, that is a HUGE Message, whoops! :)
I can’t keep up with all the messages so I generally just reply to the latest message and hope people think I’m not being rude/ignore them 😂 if my egg collection is likely to be on Monday I reckon the trigger will be on Saturday...I’ve noticed that my clinics online portal hasn’t been updated for Friday (my final scan) on whether I take my final injection. And apparently the trigger injection is to be decided (one is more favoured to prevent hyper stimulation I think). Just hope the trigger doesn’t have to be taken at silly o clock at night. X
79andnotout · 02/09/2020 21:07

Okay cool, good to know ewcm is normal. I don't usually get much in a normal cycle (due to diminishing oestrogen I guess), so I was a bit shocked by the amount!

I've had headaches again today too. The menopur is a beast. I caved and had a coffee as I had a full day of meetings at work and couldn't cope otherwise. I've also reached my saturation point with chicken Kiev's now. I'm looking forward to going back to be vegetarian if this doesn't work!

Ah, looking forward to no injections in the morning.

I stimmed for 11 days total in the end.

AutumnHoping · 02/09/2020 21:12

@Sian7919 I stimmed for 16 days both times. But think that was def on the long side.

ivfjourney5 · 02/09/2020 21:18

@Sian7919 I only stimmed for 9 days, it was meant to be 10 days but I was high risk of OHSS and my eggs were fully cooked so they told me not to take my last dose

@JandL2020 yes that sounds correct, in your final scan they will decide if you're ready for the trigger (which I'm sure you will be given your progress so far!) and they will give you a specific time, then EC will be 36 hours later. I had my trigger at 8pm which was a good time, waking up at 5.30am to get to the hospital for EC was not as nice!! I know somebody else who triggered at midnight, but they then had a leisurely morning before collection.

@79andnotout your comment about chicken Kiev's actually just made me laugh out loud, thanks, I needed a laugh after a long day!

poupou · 02/09/2020 21:26

@pattaz2711. I am sure everyone is fine with you staying on the threat! I hope AF arrives soon so you can move to the next level!
@Sian7919 ! Thanks for asking! I am feeling slightly better but getting very stressed and emotional with everything! And very very tired! Also thirsty! Hahah! Its a process and it appears we all power through it!
Depending on size of follicles stimulation varies! They will Usually stimulate you until they see adequate size (usually 16 mm and above as this gives the best chance of a mature egg for fertilisation)! I stim for 13 days!

Lemongrass1 · 02/09/2020 22:42

Hi all, every time I look on this thread and start to respond there’s more messages and I can’t keep up 😂

@thefishthatcouldwish hope your first day back with the kids goes well

@79andnotout good luck for EC, fingers crossed that your body has chosen the best follicles for a good chance at a pregnancy 🤞🤞

@poupou I went through a few days of doom and gloom on buserelin but it passed and then I went into angry stage pre AF. Currently in the meh stage 🤣 I had my TSH done when first referred for fertility tx in 2017 but not since!

@Havingfaith hope the cramps settled down. I remember having them when having progynova in July and being really unsettled by it

@zebra80 hope you had a good day off

@ivfjourney5 I think we’ve all had something we have fixated on and got overly worried about! I was obsessed with my downreg bleed not coming as was convinced I’d messed things up by doing cycles back to back

@Pattaz2711 I was full of irrational rage from about a week before AF! Hope it means it’s coming soon for you. Maybe worth touching base with your Dr? Seems a bit long to still be having a positive pregnancy test. I did acupuncture a few FETs back but not since COVID. Yes, of course stay on with us if you find it helpful x

@JandL2020 wow that’s a lot of follicles! No wonder you’ve felt a bit rough. Sounds promising for a good EC x

@Unicornpuff congrats on getting thru egg collection. hope you get good news with day 1 update 🤞🤞🤞

@AllySC welcome and hope this new cycle has a positive outcome

@Rumtopf oh no! Did you ever remember what you actually went to shops for?

@Sian7919 good luck for Sun!

I’ve tried to get everyone in but I’m sure I’ve missed some people- sorry!

Have Covid swab and downreg scan tomorrow. Feels a bit weird to have a bit of progress after so long. A bit nervous now having got used to the status quo of jabbing myself with buserelin every morning and carrying on

I'm also finding it hard to keep up with the messages - hope good vibes to everyone is ok and I'm not being rude if I miss anything.

Good day today but the menopur is starting to kick in - I was shattered and had a big nap on the sofa this afternoon, and now can't sleep. Got a very light work diary for the next 10 days or so though (luckily I work for myself) so should be able to schedule many naps :-)

@Sian7919 glad it's not just me who's tired with it - I think I'm just on menopur only although going for a scan next Monday (day 8) so presumably they might adjust the menopur or give me something else then if I need it...? Good luck for Sunday - and thanks for the mention of the haramaki, I'd never heard of them before and think they look really cosy anyway so might treat myself :-)

@Lemongrass1 hope the scan goes well tomorrow! My clinic doesn't seem to be doing any covid swabs etc which at least is one less thing to stress about and wait for a phone call for I suppose.

Hope everyone else is having a good night's sleep! x

ivfjourney5 · 03/09/2020 06:27

@Lemongrass1 good luck with the scan and swab today!

@zebra80 hope you managed to get to sleep before too long. I did the exact same thing the other day, had a danger nap around 5pm as I literally couldn't keep my eyes open, bedtime arrived and I was wide awake for hours and hours. I'm glad you've got lots of upcoming napping time, it's good to take care of yourself

HavingFaith · 03/09/2020 08:09

@Lemongrass1 hope your scan goes well today and the Covid swab isn’t too bad!

Not sure if anyone else has scans etc today, but if you do, I hope everything goes perfectly!xx

AutumnHoping · 03/09/2020 08:40

We have lift off... starting Progynova this morning. Awaiting first scan date

misty20 · 03/09/2020 11:27

hi everyone, hope you don't mind me jumping on.
Ive just started my Bemfola 2 days ago and have my first scan tomorrow. this is my second IVF cycle, first was on the NHS in 2016 and resulted in one top embryo and my miracle son as I call him :)
much more nervous this time but trying to keep positive.

Good luck to you all starting IVF journeys :)

AllySC · 03/09/2020 11:31

Me too! I had an accidental nap on the sofa yesterday afternoon and didn't go to sleep until 2am last night!

Thank you everyone for the lovely messages. AF has arrived today so our cycle has officially started...

Hope you're all doing ok x

Rumtopf · 03/09/2020 11:46

I can't keep up either, I'm not being rude I just have zero attention span at the moment. Thank god I work for myself and am only making face masks and cutlery rolls today!

Our clinic doesn't swab for Covid, although I'm tempted to have an antibody test as I was ever so poorly in Dec last year and think that's what it was. I've such a headache today and am so tired I was in bed at 9:30 last night.

Hope everyone has a good day!

79andnotout · 03/09/2020 11:55

Today is the first day in ages I haven't had a headache, it was so nice not having to get up and do injections this morning! I had to double trigger last night which was a bit stressful but it went okay.

I had a zoom meeting with my boss yesterday, as he said he'd noticed I have been a bit off recently (I haven't told anyone at work about the IVF). He said I'm a very valued member of the company and they don't want to lose me, so I am to propose a pay increase that would keep me happy. Ha! There has been loads of crap at work and I guess he thought I was applying for other jobs, when I've actually just been a bit distracted with IVF. So at least if I don't have any success with egg collection tomorrow, at least I'll have got a payrise out of this.

I'm getting swabbed for covid everytime I go to the clinic. It's not that bad. I'd rather someone fiddle around with my tonsils than my vagina.

Eggling · 03/09/2020 11:57

Also struggling to keep up with everyone's news - there's lots of us here! So hoping it's a lucky thread for us all.

I have my day 10 scan tomorrow morning and woke up really anxious that it's going to be another cancelled cycle. I had a mild cramping feeling yesterday (not sure if that's the oestrogen or just my imagination, or if ur means anything). My last scan where my FET was pushed back the dr saw a cyst on one of my ovaries, she wasn't concerned and said it wouldn't affect implantation but I'm fretting that it'll stop us going ahead! I hate all the uncertainty in this process, it's not good for my control freak nature.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Eggling · 03/09/2020 11:58

@79andnotout a pay rise is brilliant! Here's hoping you get a double whammy and gave a successful cycle too 😊

HavingFaith · 03/09/2020 12:00

@79andnotout that last comment about fiddling with your tonsils made me laugh so much! Just the joke I needed 🤣🤣
Congratulations on your pay rise!! What a result!
Glad your triggers went ok and best of luck tomorrow!xx

@AutumnHoping and @AllySC yay to you both for getting started! Hope the meds are kind to you!xx

@misty20 welcome xx

poupou · 03/09/2020 12:09

@79andnotout ! Congrats for the pay rise and totally agree with fiddling with your tonsils over your vagina!
Best of luck tmr for @Eggling @HavingFaith and apologies as i am sure i am forgetting someone that has a scan tmr!
Last day on Noretheristone and trying to remain calm with all my anxieties!

Lemongrass1 · 03/09/2020 12:13

Hi all just a quick update to say scan was fine so starting progynova today. They are now only doing swabs if you are having egg collection so I didn’t need one in the end. Lining scan next Fri and then hopefully ET the following Fri! X

79andnotout · 03/09/2020 12:19

Ha, thanks guys.

Glad to hear your scan went ok @Lemongrass1. Not long till transfer now!

@Eggling I have had some months where I've just been keeping an eye on womb activity, and there is so much that goes on in that region, and it's so hard to tell bowel from womb. I'm sure it's fine, so don't stress. Good luck for tomorrow.

Congrats to those just starting the meds. There's so much build up to IVF and then it's over and done with in the blink of an eye. It's crazy.

ivfjourney5 · 03/09/2020 12:38

@AutumnHoping, @Lemongrass1 and @AllySC glad you've started 😊

@misty20 welcome! Let's hope this round is as successful as your previous!

@79andnotout success on the pay increase! Good luck for tomorrow 🍀

A few of us have scans tomorrow, hopefully it will be good news for all x

AutumnHoping · 03/09/2020 12:52

Thank you @HavingFaith and @ivfjourney5.

Excited but the worry starts too that the protocol may not be right 🙈

@Lemongrass1 we could have similar dates!

UnicornPuff · 03/09/2020 13:03

@pattaz2711 have you asked how long they would expect you to still have hCG in your urine? I cant see any reason anyone would not want your to stay in the thread. Its all about supporting each other through an s**t process!

@AllySC welcome. I am sorry you have to start a fresh cycle. At least you have a plan to improve your outcome.

@ivfjourney5 I wouldn't worry too much. Before you start stims you have a scan that confirms the buserelin has done its job.

@Rumtopf at least it wasn't a completely wasted journey! Hope the brain fog is clearing!

@JandL2020 when will they decide if it will be a freeze all? And how do you feel about it?

@Sian7919 the haramaki looks amazing. How did youbhear about them? I always feel the cold and it just suddenly seems to have gotten really cold!
I stimmed for 9 days both cycles. I think it can be variable from cycle to cycle though.

@Lemongrass1 thats brilliant news. Plus no swab! I get one weekly at work and it is not pleasant. Working from home has been quite nice to not have to be swabbed all the time!

@zebra80 thats good you can keep your diary light. I have been working from home through stims so not full hours as I can only do a small percentage of my role and have really benefitted from naps and lie ins. Back in tomorrow and I am really not looking forward to the alarm at 5.30 tomorrow 🤣

@AutumnHoping yay! When do you think your scan will be?

@misty20 welcome. I think I have read somewhere that the success rates after a IVF pregnancy are really good. I have everything crossed for you.

@79andnotout thats amazing. A pay rise is a very good way to start the day! How are you feeling being injection free today! I felt really odd and like I was missing something the day before collection! Good luck for tomorrow. What time do you think you are scheduled for?

@Eggling sorry you are stressing about your scan tomorrow. I have been taking all the supplements from it starts with an egg and one of the supplements is melatonin before bed. I can honestly say even if it didn't improve my egg quality I have been able to sleep rather than lie awake worrying! I hope the scan shows everything as it should be and you can have a couple of days off worrying.

Sorry if I have missed anybody. We seem to be in the stage where everyone is doing something!

We are lucky and get an update everyday except day 4 when they can't really see much. The 7th egg with a potential to mature didn't mature. All 6 of the mature eggs have fertilised. They were able to use spermslow although due to the concentration of sperm it was not an easy procedure. I dont really mind how hard it was just that it happened 🤣 Then tomorrow they should be able to tell us a little bit more about quality and a decision on a day 3 or day 5 transfer.

Rumtopf · 03/09/2020 13:36

@79andnotout that fair made me laugh, congrats on the pay rise and good luck for tomorrow.

@UnicornPuff brilliant news on 6 fertilised! It feels like such a relief at each stage.

I'm due for my 1st stim scan tomorrow too, hoping all is well as one side is a lot less active than the other and I only got 6 eggs last time. I've been taking melatonin too which seems to have helped me relax, I've certainly been sleeping a lot better than normal.
The brain fog is well and truly here, but nothing I have to do is arduous and dh finds me entertaining when I can't find the right words for things, so at least we can laugh about it!
