TTC WITH PCOS

Hi everyone!
Just thought I'd make a thread for anyone TTC with pcos. I have not formally been diagnosed with the condition but pretty sure I am due to my irregular periods and the way my ovaries look on a scan.
I came off the pill August last year and had regular periods and then they just completely stopped in January. I had to have a tablet to induce a period in the end.
Anyway it's been a while now and hard to try and conceive when you know you probably aren't even ovulating.
Any body in a similar position?
Also anyone has any tips/ supplements that might help?

Thanks 😁

@justanothercyster - congrats. We're you on any supplements or medication?

Sorry I haven't replied my app doesn't seem to want to give me notifications anymore!

@Catconfusion thank you, I was very surprised! Praying everything is ok, I have an early scan booked for Monday as I'll be 7 weeks on Sunday.

@Sunshine3013 I wasn't but dh was prescribed some supplements to help with the morphology issue and I assume it worked. I'd just been taking the seven seas vitamins and I don't know if it's coincidence but my cycles were shorter since taking them..

Hi All, I also have PCOS, and I know it's hard, but hang in there. My bmi was 37 when I started my ttc journey. I knew I had to loose weight in order to conceive. I went on the Cambridge diet and lost 3 stones in 3 months.

I had a concoction of supplements and metformin. I conceived on my first round of Clomid after losing 3 stones with my daughter. I did the same you have my son.

Hang in there, one doctor told me to have my kids by 26, otherwise the chances were too slim. I had both my kids in my 30s.

Good luck.

Hi all, hope you don’t mind me jumping on here. I’ve read through the thread, and have seen some lovely BFP news for fellow TTC ladies with PCOS, everyone seems so lovely and it would be really helpful to speak to others in a similar position.

I have PCOS and we have been trying since January 2020. I was on the pill for years and came off December 2019, took 6 months for my periods to “return”. I say that because I’ve probably had about 6 or 7 since June 2020, all completely varied cycles. I’ve been referred to Gynae and had bloods taken, need to get another set done, DH going for SA, plus scan as haven’t had a recent check on my dermoid cyst due to covid restrictions. Seeing Gynae for an update again in October and the next step is Clomid if needed.

AF (3 days - very short for me) finished 2 weeks ago today, but I had spotting yesterday and a little today, which isn’t like me at all (normally once my period ends it can be up 6-8 weeks until the next one and rarely ever spot) and generally feeling odd. Has anyone had something similar?

It’s a pain with irregular cycles (as I’m sure many of you also understand) as no idea when ovulating.
TIA x

Hi Ladies,

Would like to join this thread as well, hope it's ok. I suffer from PCOS and have been trying to conceive since Nov 2019... had 3 preg losses in between 😔 first one was a MMC in Jan 2020 ..conceived naturally without any meds. Last two were more recent ones, at 5 and 4 weeks in Feb 2021 and May 2021.. started taking metformin from March of this year to see if that would make any difference.. I lost about 5 KGs or a stone, however was never overweight to begin with and my cycles have reduced from 33/45 to 28 days now..DH suffers from low motility and is on antidepressants so not sure if that's a factor...currently on cd 26, feels like AF is on its way as got a drop in BBT 😭 sorry for the long post just wanted to vent here ... not sure if it's ever gonna happen for me
