Hi, we are starting a FET this month after a bit of back and forth with the clinic. Start downreg on Fri with ET hopefully first week of July. Wondering if anyone else cycling around the same time? X

Thanks SnarkWeek, I think I'm nervous because it is an unknown zone for me and you aren't in control at all. I'm not sure if I have PCOS to be honest. The clinic didn't say anything about that. I actually had to google the symptoms. It's the first time I've had my amh etc checked. Also had FSH checked, it's 7.5, not sure if it makes any difference. I'm totally new to this. I already had pregnancies with no problems in the past but now have a new partner and we have a male factor so will be having icsi.
So I'm now waiting for my AF in 2 weeks time to start menopur. Sooo nervous.

RosettaR · 30/06/2020 13:51

@SnarkyGorgon good luck with your scan tomorrow. I'm right there with you on the ewcm, it is a bit disgusting. Tbh I'm hoping it's a good sign - I have low AMH and antral follicle count, and Dr Google tells me ewcm is a sign follicles are growing! My biggest fear has been that I will have a really low number, or none, when I have the scan tomorrow.

Thanks for the reassurance girls. I think I need to chill basically!

KittyFoster · 30/06/2020 18:02

@80sm I’m sorry, I’m new to this and must have confused you

Re the AFC and AMF, my understanding is that they are required When deciding the treatment plan and dosage/medication so do not worry too much about it.... with a high AMH, the dosage will be low I suppose

my doctor was also concerned about the risk of OHSS and in fact prescribed low dosage and a different trigger injection to lower the risk ( I have now used the same injection but a much higher dose for the FET down regulation). My Amh was 21 and after 9 days of stimms, they retrieved 21 oocytes of which 18 were mature. I felt completely fine afterwards ( in fact we flew back home on the same day). Make sure you drink plenty of water ( I drank 3 liters daily during stimms and ate lots of protein). Since I knew about the risk of OHSS I thought it would be safer not to risk and decided to freeze all embryos. My period came a few days later so I think it was the best decision.

@Bestofyou1982 I hope all went well with the transfer

Janefx40 · 30/06/2020 19:18

@RosettaR good luck for the scan tomorrow.

It's pretty hard to chill when doing IVF! I think it's just a case of coping with the stress as best we can. Diarrhoea is unpleasant but it shouldn't affect your treatment.

@80SM Starting fertility treatment is definitely daunting! I think it gets easier once you have actually started and are focused on what you have to do. It's a good start that you have high AMH and that you have had successful pregnancies before so fingers crossed for a smooth ride for you

@Bestofyou1982 how did you get on?

Xxx

Janefx40 · 30/06/2020 21:48

@Lemongrass1 how are things going for you? Do you have a transfer date yet? X

Nmvasey · 30/06/2020 22:27

Evening! Hope you're all doing well and things are progressing. I can see a few of you have some key dates upcoming 🙏.

Just a quick question - are you ladies completely self isolating? If so, have you been advised by your clinic? Mine hasn't been very specific

Lemongrass1 · 30/06/2020 22:37

@SnarkWeek @RosettaR good luck with scans tomorrow!

@Bestofyou1982 hope the transfer went well

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip have you had your transfer yet? Hope all is well!

@Janefx40 I have a lining scan on Thursday. I might get a transfer date for next week if lining is ok 🤞 Where are you with your FET?

@Nmvasey Our clinic ask for us to follow the social distancing rules but not to self isolate. I haven’t been self isolating as it’s not practical for me but I’ve been careful with following current guidelines on social distancing. X

BeHereNowx32 · 01/07/2020 06:51

@Lemongrass1 @RosettaR hope your scans go well. We may have transfers in the same week.

@Bestofyou1982 hope you are feeling ok after transfer. The 2ww is the hardest. Hope you can relax enough.

My transfer is booked for Monday. My lining was 7.1mm at my scan and I am now worrying that this isn’t thick enough.

@Nmvasey I haven’t been asked to isolate. I have answer questions to make sure I don’t have symptoms etc before each appointment.

I hope everyone else is doing ok. I am struggling to keep up with all messages. Sorry!

SnarkyGorgon · 01/07/2020 10:38

Good luck today RosettaR

NmVasey I’ve not been told to shield but my clinic phoned me yesterday in advance of today’s appointment to ask if I’d come into contact with anyone with symptoms etc. My dh and I are being really careful though and basically stuck to lockdown distancing rules- can’t cope with the idea of treatment being scuppered at the last minute!

RosettaR · 01/07/2020 10:43

Well I'm in shock after my scan. My lining was described as "beautiful" and I have 12 follicles on each ovary! My AMH is "normal but low" at 11 ish, and my antral follicle count has always been low, with 0 follicles on one side at my baseline scan. I'm so relieved I'm responding to the treatment. I know quality could still be an issue, and is totally unknown at this stage, but I have so much more hope now. I'm looking at EC either Monday or Wednesday next week.

@BeHereNowx32 your lining still has a good few days if your transfer is on Monday. Fingers crossed for you.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow @Lemongrass1.

@Nmvasey same as Lemongrass our clinic has asked us just to obey the social distancing rules.

@Janefx40 I know so hard to relax! I'm going to make a big effort today though as I did get pretty nervous before my scan.

@SnarkyGorgon how was your scan?

Bestofyou1982 · 01/07/2020 10:48

@RosettaR good luck today with scan. 🤞

@NmVasey I've been told to shield by my clinic as if a member of household became unwell the cycle would be cancelled. So I've worked from home in last week or so with run up to transfer as can't social distance at my work being in a Primary school.

Transfer went smoothly yesterday. Pain free and a simple process. Lining was 10.3 and 2 embryos both defrosted well (although 1 inflated better than the other) Took bit longer with covid protocols and was odd wearing a mask during procedure but all good.
Felt really tired and crampy yesterday evening and similar today so having a quiet day (hopefully).
Have been advised now PUPO to follow guidelines as if pregnant until next test date.

How's everyone else doing today?

Bestofyou1982 · 01/07/2020 10:51

@RosettaR just seen your update. All sounds really positive. Smile

RosettaR · 01/07/2020 11:24

@Bestofyou1982 that's great your transfer went well and congrats on being PUPO!

Quick question, if my EC is on Monday and my clinic only does 5 day transfers, when will ET be? Friday or Saturday? Just trying to work out how to use my holiday!

Bestofyou1982 · 01/07/2020 11:29

@RosettaR best to check with your clinic.
I unfortunately had to do a freeze all after embyro collection. And since then have been on frozen embryo cycles.

Not long now until EC, exciting next step. :-)
I really enjoyed my EC. May sound strange. It felt like a really big step forward to have some viable eggs to fertilise. But mainly I
think it was because the sedation was soooooo good. I felt the most relaxed I can remember feeling as an adult, for the whole day after collection. Was first thing I realised when I came round from EC was how calm and positive I felt.

Rovera12 · 01/07/2020 11:36

@bestofyou1982 great your transfer went well. Officially PUPO 👍.

@RosettaR happy to hear your scan went well . On my first cycle I had egg collection on Monday and ET on Saturday. I believe your clinic will update you on that.

Wishing all the ladies a positive appointment this week.

I am on day 10 of down reg and my period is meant to come on officially 3 days ago, but nothing yet. I don’t know if it’s a good sign or not? I am kind of worried about it. Also, if that would determine the length of down reg I don’t know.

Nmvasey · 01/07/2020 11:37

Ah thanks everyone, I'm just going to be careful. I start downreg on Monday.Took the week off work to try and relax... never felt like I'd be wishing away the week.

@bestofyou1982 great news on your transfer. I have everything crossed for you and @RosettaR amazing news on your scan!

Lemongrass1 · 01/07/2020 11:50

@Bestofyou1982 congrats on the transfer! When is OTD?

@RosettaR I would say likely Sat but I’d double check with your clinic. Great news on the scan, sounds v promising! X

@Rovera12 Really common for AF to be delayed on downreg. Mine came after 11 days of injections so a few days late. It can come later though. It’s stressful waiting for it to come though, hope turns up soon 🤞

Lemongrass1 · 01/07/2020 11:52

@BeHereNowx32 great news on transfer date! Hopefully lining will plump up a bit more in the meantime x

SnarkWeek · 01/07/2020 11:55

Oooh bestofyou1982 that’s so exciting, glad it all went smoothly. Was your partner allowed in the room during the procedure (massive assumption that you have a partner there, apologies for that, I just know that there’s a question around whether my dh will be allowed in the room during embryo transfer due to COVID).

So happy for you RosettaR, that’s such great news! Glad you’re feeling more positive about things.

Today’s scan went pretty well. Have one 19mm monster! A couple of other big ish uns and then about 20 middles sized ones that will hopefully catch up. Back for another scan on Friday but they’re pretty pleased and things are looking hopeful that I won’t have overloaded ovaries.

BeHereNowx32 · 01/07/2020 12:14

@Lemongrass1 @RosettaR thank you. Hope so! I did speak to the doctor this morning, who said they were more than happy with my lining. I could delay by a week, but worry that I will mess things up that way! So going ahead with transfer on Monday.

@Bestofyou1982 very good news! All the best for the 2ww

@SnarkWeek we aren’t allowed partners in for our transfer. 😔 will find that tough, but hopefully all straightforward

Janefx40 · 01/07/2020 12:37

@Bestofyou1982 congrats on the transfer. Such good news that your lining is good and the Frosties made it through defrosting.

@RosettaR congrats on the amazing scan. That sounds really promising.

@SnarkWeek your scan sounds great too. You must be really pleased and great that they're not worried about over stimulating.

@Rovera12 I'm afraid I've never down regged but hopefully you will come on soon. My periods have never behaved normally during fertility cycles! They know something is up!!

@Nmvasey no one has mentioned shielding to me but you've made me rethink some of my plans for next week. Stupidly it hadn't even crossed my mind!

@BeHereNowx32 I looked it up and it says online that the normal lining around ovulation is 4-7mm so sounds like you are perfect and bang on track for next week.

@Lemongrass1 good luck for Thursday. Should be a few transfers next week by the sound of things

I'm doing Natural Cycle FET so currently just using ovulation sticks and have to go in when I get a positive

X

BeHereNowx32 · 01/07/2020 12:47

@RosettaR oh and great news on your scan. Looks like EC and transfers are all happening soon

Nmvasey · 01/07/2020 13:25

@janefx40 ooh sorry I've made you panic - I think it's just about being sensible. I was steaming ahead making a load of plans and then my friend reminded me so have reigned things in, she felt terrible. In the grand scheme of things I'm happy to shelve plans, I really don't want to have to get mid way again and to have to stop.

Janefx40 · 01/07/2020 14:25

@Nmvasey not at all - I'm really pleased you brought it up. I'm not panicking just realising I need to scale down plans to meet up with various people (all within the rules but still carrying a higher chance of infection than social distancing) x

Bestofyou1982 · 01/07/2020 17:02

@SnarkWeek we live about an hour from the ivf clinic (chose clinic near to my work for ease of appointments). My husband didn't attend the transfer but could have I think each clinic is probably different at the moment depending on setting.
I had to ring when I got to car park and stay in car. They rang back to let me know when to go in. Had temp check at door once mask was on. Then straight to a little room for final scan and blood test (was taking part in study). Then back to car until called again ready for transfer. Was all a lot slower with extra cleaning unit has to do between patients but all very smooth and clear process.
Hope that helps with your question. Smile
