Hi, we are starting a FET this month after a bit of back and forth with the clinic. Start downreg on Fri with ET hopefully first week of July. Wondering if anyone else cycling around the same time? X

@Glitterandunicorns were you aware you were having a procedure done at the time then? I remember going into the room and then being back in the little changing cubicle. Nothing inbetween. I have no idea how much medication I was given. Sounds like yours was different?

SpyroC · 27/07/2020 15:07

@granddesigns I'm so sorry to hear that. It's so cruel, please take care of yourself. Xx

@Glitterandunicorns I have always been on the max dose of 450 but I'm wandering whether that frazzling my eggs. It's so high because my AMH is low for my age at 5 but I'm thinking that if I have to go again I will enquire further about the quality over quantity approach. What was your AMH? That's strange about your sedation, I was completely out both times, just a nice little sleep.

That's amazing news @Bestofyou1982 you must be so relieved! X

How annoying @Parkandride ! But at least you lining is looking great. Don't let her spoil the good news and excitement.

I am 7dpt and I'm definitely losing it. 🙈🤪

KittyFoster · 27/07/2020 17:57

I’m so so sorry to hear that @granddesigns, IVF can be so cruel 😞 Please be kind to yourself xxx 💐

@Glitterandunicorns wonderful news, great number Of eggs retrieved! How are you feeling now?

@Bestofyou1982 super happy for you! I hope you can relax a bit and start enjoying this journey. Are you feeling any symptoms?

Nothing to report here. We arrived in Greece yesterday and started progesterone gel in the evening. I hope it is being absorbed properly. It’s like with this process there is always something to have doubts about. In the meantime I’m enjoying the sun, the sea and the foodGrin

Glitterandunicorns · 27/07/2020 17:58

@Parkandride I'm sorry you had that experience. That sounds frustrating and difficult, which is the last thing you need at what is already a stressful time. Great job on growing such good lining though!

@SpyroC My AMH score was 16.3 I think (def 16 something).

I feel a bit cheated out of a lovely sedation 😂 I was definitely wide awake and felt everything they did to the point I nearly hit the ceiling when they first went in! The nurse explained to me that I'd feel a bit like I'd had a few drinks, but I didn't feel that way. I do take opiates regularly due to a joint problem, so I wonder whether the fentanyl affected me differently. To be fair though, it was done in about 15 minutes and everyone was very kind and I had a brilliant number of eggs collected, so I'm not going to grumble!

Lemongrass1 · 27/07/2020 19:28

@granddesigns I’m so so sorry to hear your news, life can be really cruel sometimes 😢

@Bestofyou1982 wonderful that the scan went well! I am super pleased for you!

Just wanted to say thanks to you all for all the support. We had our follow up consultation today and the good news is that we can go again with another FET straight away so am hopefully starting downreg in 2.5 weeks if we can squeeze our consents appt in. Wishing everyone all the best wherever your journey takes you. I’ll probably join into one of the Aug/ Sept cycle buddy boards now. X

@Lemongrass1 Best of luck for the FET! Take care of yourself. Thanks

Parkandride · 27/07/2020 20:24

Ahh that's good @Lemongrass1 hopefully this one is the one!
I just realised with all the delays I'll be transferring well into August, maybe I should look at that thread too!

LemonRabbit · 27/07/2020 20:45

@Lemongrass1
That’s great, you can start a new FET straightaway. Good luck!

@granddesigns
Flowers I’m sorry to hear your sad news. We’re all grateful IVF exists, but it is such a brutal, cruel process. Best of luck moving forward.

@Glitterandunicorns
Well done on the eggs! I had 3 days off work, but I had awful ohss (lots of eggs) so was very bloated. Even when I went back to work I was still very bloated.
Omg get the sedation upped, if there’s a next time! I don’t remember a thing, thankfully, and I’m glad about that.

@Bestofyou1982
Great news! How far along are you now then? That embie is clearly a survivor!

Janefx40 · 27/07/2020 21:49

@Lemongrass1 great that you can start so soon and thank you for starting this thread. It's been amazing.

@KittyFoster lovely to be in Greece! Glad you are enjoying the sun. After 4 months in the UK in lockdown, I reckon even Bognor Regis would feel like paradise (no offence to Bognor Regis - never actually been there - just the kind of place you name in comments like that!)

@Glitterandunicorns you were awake!! Confused but you have survived! And you have good eggs so that is the main thing.

Xxx

SpyroC · 28/07/2020 09:22

Good luck for today @Rovera12 xx

How are you feeling today @Glitterandunicorns ?

Best of luck with your fet @Lemongrass1 x

@KittyFoster I'm jealous that you're in Greece!

It's not looking good for me as I've been having periods/endo pain since yesterday morning on and off. This is exactly what happened last time 8dp5dt too. I was hoping the lubion would prevent this. I don't understand why my body goes through the period pain cycle I have every month if I'm on progesterone as I thought it was the progesterone dropping that caused period pain. Any ideas? I'm going to phone my clinic I think.

Janefx40 · 28/07/2020 09:40

@SpyroC I know it's impossible not to worry but honestly period pains doesn't necessarily mean it hasn't worked or that your progesterone levels have dropped. A very annoying fact is that being pregnant and getting your period feel pretty damn similar. I have felt exactly the same in my cycles that worked to the one I didn't.

I always get menstrual migraine when (I think) my progesterone levels drop. I got my usual migraine even when I was pregnant. It's very hard to work out exactly why this stuff happens.

Definitely call the clinic tho if you are worried. There's nothing to lose by getting in touch. How strong are the cramps?

Glitterandunicorns · 28/07/2020 10:04

@SpyroC I'm sorry you're in pain. Phoning the clinic sounds like a good idea. X

I just had a call from our embryologist. In conclusion, we have two fertilised eggs that are developing normally. She said that they recovered 16 but only 8 were undamaged and mature. Of the 8, four fertilised and two have developed normally. The other two might catch up, but I'm not hopeful at this early stage.

She said that what they usually do at this point is just arrange transfer for tomorrow and I have to decide whether to transfer one or two. She's going to call me this afternoon after they've had the hospital meeting to confirm that's how the consultant wants to proceed.

I'm really disappointed. After yesterday's mammoth egg number, it feels not great. My husband said that it's really positive. Of 8 good eggs, half fertilised (which is what our hospital usually says happens) and of those, half look good so far.

I'm usually a cheerful optimistic person, so hopefully I'll see it this way later on.

Sorry for the essay. Hope you're all having a lovely Tuesday. X

SpyroC · 28/07/2020 11:39

@Glitterandunicorns I'm sorry to hear you've had such a drop off so early on. I have no experience of this to share as the most eggs I had was 7. Your husband is right about the fertilisation rate though so that is positive. Try to focus on the positives and remember that it's quality over quantity. They will decide what to do based on whatever is going to give you the best chance. The 1 or 2 question is hard given it's your first round and the quality is not as indicative before day 5, hopefully they will advise you. I'm sending you and your 2 embies positive vibes and have everything crossed for you. Xx

Thanks @Janefx40 I am trying to stay positive but am prepared for the worse. I read lots of posts online from women having period pains and then getting a bfp but the pain is exactly as normal 13dpo/ec. The pain was very mild yesterday and a bit stronger first thing which again is standard for me. I wish it would do one and just let me enjoy being pupo! A nurse is going to call me back.

Rovera12 · 28/07/2020 13:00

@SpyroC thank you so much for remembering, it went well by Gods grace. I woke and was feeling very emotional, I cried so much when I was told I had 9 eggs collected.
Well they have also thawed the sperm and happy with the result.
Hoping to get good news in the next couple of days. 🤞

Glitterandunicorns · 28/07/2020 13:56

@Rovera12 that's amazing! Well done you for doing so well at egg growing! Brilliant that they've thawed the sperm and that's fine too! Fingers crossed for brilliant fertilisation! X

@SpyroC thank you so much. I hope the nurse is able to reassure you when they call you. X

Janefx40 · 28/07/2020 14:26

@Glitterandunicorns I can understand your disappointment but remember you don't need 13 or even 16 embryos! We have to focus now on the two that are left. Remember @RosettaR had a similar situation with 19 eggs but very few fertilised and she ended up with a BFP! Fingers crossed for a good result tomorrow.

@SpyroC I totally get preparing for the worst. I do the same. Hope the clinic can reassure you when they call back.

@Rovera12 congratulations! 9 eggs is a great result. Good luck for the call tomorrow.

RosettaR · 28/07/2020 16:14

@Glitterandunicorns yes I had a very poor fertilisation numbers, I had 19 eggs collected of which 15 were mature, but only 2 fertilised normally, even with ICSI. At that point I thought we were finished. But of the two we did have, one made it to a top quality on day 5 and I got a BFP. So just because so many didn't fertilise, it doesn't mean the four that did won't be good quality. It really does only take one good one so the numbers are only part of the story.

Glitterandunicorns · 28/07/2020 20:12

Hi ladies, after this morning being told we had two embryos and that we'd be doing a transfer tomorrow, our embryologist phoned this afternoon and said that we now have three as one of the other two that fertilised has caught up to where it should be! I'm feeling a lot more positive about things now after having some time to reflect on things.

The embryologist is going to call us tomorrow and we'll see how things are looking then.

I'm pleased we're not going embryo transfer tomorrow tbh as I'm still in quite a lot of pain after collection on Monday. I'm super bloated and it hurts to laugh or move too much still. If it's still like this in the morning I'll contact my hospital and see what they say.

Thanks again @Janefx40 and @RosettaR.

@SpyroC I hope the pain has gone. X

Ash75454 · 28/07/2020 21:57

Hi all been trying to keep up with the chat over the last week or so. Sorry to those where this attempt hasn't gone their way @Lemongrass1 wishing you all the best in next round and I'm glad you don't have long to wait.

@Bestofyou1982 what fantastic news delighted for you! I'm putting my money on a little girl in there cause us girls are fighters and bloody tough!

@Glitterandunicorns that is great news about a number 3 and a few more days. Lots of fluids and including an electrolyte drink really helped my swelling. I also remember my collection, phew im jealous of all those who says how amazing it is. Im not sure i could go through it another time so wow well done.

SpyroC · 29/07/2020 09:42

9 eggs is great @Rovera12 I hope you get good news on today's phone call too.

That's sounding much more positive @Glitterandunicorns. Transferring in day 2 is something I've not heard of before so I'm glad they're giving your embies a bit more time and hopefully you will feel more comfortable too. 🤞🏻 you also get some good news.

My pain seems to subside following on from progesterone so I think that's what's stopping my period. I had a tiny amount of spotting yesterday too 😬. I have accepted that it probably hasn't worked and will be very happy and surprised if I get a positive on Sunday. I'm slightly annoyed that a nurse didn't call me as I was told they would.

Glitterandunicorns · 29/07/2020 09:59

Morning ladies. Thank you!

@Rovera12 how are you feeling today?

@SpyroC I'm sorry to hear a nurse didn't call you back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

We just had a call from the embryologist. We still have three! I'm super relieved! We'll get a call tomorrow morning and if any of them have dropped off or look lots better than any others, we might do a transfer tomorrow.

@SpyroC The embryologist told us that the reason they were initially considering a day 2 transfer was that at that point we only had two viable embryos, and that because the human body is a better incubator than those in the lab, in that situation it's best to just do the transfer ASAP.

Rovera12 · 29/07/2020 10:58

@SpyroC n @Glitterandunicorns thank you all for asking. I feel very strong I don’t feel like I was sedated yesterday at all. As I write now I am on my way to work and I feel better than the past few days.

I got the call this morning, 1 was immature and 8 got injected but 6 fertilised. I have been booked for transfer on Sunday. If any issues I will get a call on Friday to come which she Said she doubts. I am praying and claiming my embryos to life.

Hows everyone doing otherwise? It seems it’s a bit quiet now on this forum .

Glitterandunicorns · 29/07/2020 13:00

@Rovera12 Woohoo! That's brilliant news! I'll cross my fingers for some good embryo growing.

Wow! You're superwoman to be back at work so quickly! I'm pleased you're feeling well.

SpyroC · 29/07/2020 14:06

Great news on your embryos @Rovera12 let's hope some grow nice and strong for Sunday. I felt the same as you after ec. I was so surprised, I think we are lucky! I thought it seemed quiet too but wasn't sure if it was just me not being at work so having more time to check in.

I think the post ec bit is definitely the worse part of ivf as there's nothing you can do but hope, wait and try to keep busy. The nurse has now called me back, she didn't say anything I don't already know but it was nice to have some reassurance about the progesterone working properly.

Zillenial · 29/07/2020 14:15

Hey, I had my transfer yesterday. Today I feel crampy 😭 is this normal??
