Just that really, I know it's a difficult time for so many people, but clinics shuttered just as DP finally agreed to get his semen analyisis done. My progesterone was normal, and I have regular periods, so I don't think Clomid would be an option for us. We've been trying for a year and a half, and I am 35 on Saturday.

If we do get a referral, and need IVF, how long will that take? So many questions?

Thanks

Hopefully they'll do what they need to do and then the physical side of things will be over with @BeHereNowx32 🤞🏻 Sending you love today.x

Thank you. The tablets did work. I’m bleeding but no pain, having the other 2. Really hating this!
Hope everyone else is well xx

@BeHereNowx32 💕 thinking of you

BeHereNowx32 · 06/09/2020 07:16

Thank you everyone. Won’t go into detail, but I haven’t had any pain or cramps. So there’s a chance I’ll need to take the tablets again. Will have a scan in 2 weeks to see if the sac is still there. I will just forget about it all for now and hope that I was just lucky!

Xxx

Ah, thank you so much Bambi. DP just rang GP and hopefully will get an appointment as soon as they reopen. Wouldn't that be wonderful, to be the first and then get the referral rolling? Anyone know how long it takes between analysis and result?

November is so soon @BambiOnIce80 and it will be great not to have the psychological barrier of being on the same time line as last year.

I have my first acupuncture today, and still hoping for a miracle, but not hoping too hard so that it doesn't hurt too badly if I yet again get my period. I'm on cycle day fourteen now, and fertile week is often a really 'up' time of endless possibilities, while the time after is tense, and then the days before my period are a horrible horrible time of hopelessness and despair, before the blood comes, and the whole thing starts again. Doing lots of lovely self care things though, and trying to focus on writing, oh and I blocked Twitter as it was making me a bit crazy and sad.

@BeHereNowx32 I'm so sorry. I hope you were lucky too, as you've been so unlucky so far. I also hope that your next one works. Why is this process so hard and heartbreaking?

@RonRon1 it's great to see you're pregnant. I hope the scan next Thursday is great.

@theotherfossilsister thats good news hopefully u will be first in line!! I hope u enjoy the accupuncture 😍

Thanks i csnt wait for the scan. I dont think I would believe it if it wasn't for the sickness and sore boobs which I love as I am just so happy to be pregnant.

Keep us all posted Xxxx

theotherfossilsister · 15/09/2020 17:53

Hi @RonRon1 thank you, I'm really hoping we'll be first, DPs booked in for 23rd (one day after it opens, so hopefully not too many in front of us.) It does depend on the GP getting the sample pots from the hospital before then. They said they were posted first class yesterday, just scared they will lose them or something. Do you know if after SA the rest of the referral becomes automatic, or do we have to ask them to progress it? When will we get the results. I am nervous on behalf of DP. Part of me wants there to be something wrong so we have an explanation, but I also know how hard it will be if there is.

I've also booked in privately for a Hycosy on 30th September, and my acupuncturist is lovely. Seeing her again tomorrow, spending a small fortune but hopefully worth it. Last week I just felt very tired after the session.

I had another cry this month as we missed two of the crucial cycle days, but did hit 13 and 16 so maybe have a chance. I want IVF but I would love to not need it, you know?

Good luck for your scan on Thursday, it's so soon now.

Also let me know if you, or any of the other Edinburgh folk, want a socially distanced walk. Would be good to meet folk who understand what this is like in real life.

Excellent news that you have your SA appointment in the bag @theotherfossilsister 😊 From what I know (although not my speciality), the lab carries out the testing there and then, so the report should be available pretty quickly - it'll be the GP signing it off to be available to you that will probably cause a hold up. I'm pretty sure they called us after a week, because DP needed to do a repeat SA. Once all the results were in, we saw our GP together to talk next steps (which in our case was the referral to EFREC). Hope this helps with a rough time line. I'll PM you my number for if you're up for a walk 📞 I'm busy this weekend, but pretty free at the moment for the next.

Sending you tonnes of positivity for tomorrow @RonRon1 💓 I'll be keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀

BeHereNowx32 · 16/09/2020 15:23

@RonRon1 good luck tomorrow xxx

LouScot · 16/09/2020 15:47

@RonRon1adding my good luck wishes to the others Grin x

Daisz · 17/09/2020 15:44

@RonRon1 Hope everything went well for you today? ♥️
How are you feeling? @BeHereNowx32. I hope you are feeling better.xx

BeHereNowx32 · 17/09/2020 15:52

@Daisz thank you. I’m feeling so much better. Still a bit broody 🙈 but so so grateful for my wee family. Keeping busy and sorting things in the house is helping. I’ve to take a pregnancy test in a couple of weeks to make sure the tablets worked properly.
How are you keeping?

@RonRon1 hope all went ok today xx

Daisz · 17/09/2020 16:03

@BeHereNowx32 glad to hear things are getting better for you. I shall be 11 weeks tomorrow and the nausea is easing slightly, but it still comes and goes. Having a little rest at the moment before heading to a birthday celebration. Midwife called me this morning and I have an appointment for Wednesday for bloods and urine. Initially that was going to be after my 12 week scan so was a bit surprised to hear from her. Think the lovely sunshine today has cheered everyone up, pity it won't last too long.xx

BeHereNowx32 · 17/09/2020 16:31

@Daisz good to hear all going well. Feel like it’s gone quite quick for you. Will you tell everyone at 12 weeks?
When I think of the midwife appointments, scans etc I really miss them 🙈 but I am ok.
It’s been so nice today. But horrible next week. You’re right. Never lasts!

I don’t know if I’m supposed to phone the fertility clinic. I haven’t heard from them, apart from a letter summarising the cycle. I’m not sure about paying for storage, waiting list, if I was supposed to get a scan (the doc said I did). But there’s not rush. I know they’re busy.

Hope everyone else is ok xx

RonRon1 · 17/09/2020 16:36

Hi guys thanks again for ur well wishes I was so nervous but glad to say everything went really well. All is good and we r now discharged from the unit 😊 It was mind blowing seeing it on screen.

Thank everyone

@theotherfossilsister am I right in saying u are private? Our SA from NHS took a week but the ones he did in the clinic were analysed right away! I totally get u l. U dont want there to be a problem but in an other way knowing there is a problem means it can be addressed and u can move forward! Xxx

Scirocco · 17/09/2020 17:11

@RonRon1 congratulations - that's great news 🎉💕

BambiOnIce80 · 17/09/2020 17:47

Fantastic news @RonRon1! 🤩 So excited for you both 😊

That 11 weeks seems to have flown by @Daisz! Hope all goes well with your bloods 🍀

Glad you're starting to feel better @BeHereNowx32 🙂 I hope the clinic will be in touch soon 🤞🏻

... I'm still waiting for my letter that should confirm to ring with October's AF 🙄

LouScot · 17/09/2020 23:50

Congratulations @RonRon1!!! Can only imagine how lovely it must have been to get discharged x

BeHereNowx32 · 18/09/2020 06:41

Lovely news @RonRon1 enjoy this part of your journey now xx

theotherfossilsister · 20/09/2020 11:13

@Ronron that's fantastic.

We're NHS at the moment but having the hycosy privately. Might bite the bullet and go private if tests find conception isn't possible naturally though as if that's the case then a year or longer seems too long.
