Hi all,

Been ttc (unsuccessfully!) for over a year and just found out there's a problem with DH sperm (low mobility and zero normal forms), so awaiting referral to fertility clinic to seek further help/advice.

Just wondered if there's anyone else in a similar situation about to embark on this journey too?

Also similar success stories welcome :) x

@willithappen I hope youre okay! sorry to hear AF arrived. - there has to be a success story soon!

@limeflower2 - when will you be starting ivf? im keen to get started asap too, by the discussions we had last night I think we could be getting additional tests (amh etc) in april, and then looking to start either May or July - we are away in June and don't want to be doing stims whilst away.

@iRawra your husbands results are very similar to mine! mine has 157mil count and I think it was 50% motility, but I think it was 0.5 morphology, im hoping these bloody vitamins may have made a difference but iv come to accept we will be an icsi couple and to get that ball rolling rather than delaying any longer!

im currently in that hope zone of the tww (I think I ovulated yesterday) so looks like ill be driving myself crazy for the next 2 weeks. how do you actually manage the tww, I mean, I tell myself all the time im not pregnant, but there is always a glimmer of hope that ends up crashing down! xx

willithappen · 11/03/2020 13:08

@Morpho123 I'm alright with it. Should have wrote last month off anyway since I think I ovulating the day of the test and didn't DTD beforehand as we weren't allowed so chances were already at nothing. Always have that bit of hope though. I'm holding onto the fact that we may have higher chances the next two cycles and then if not we still have the option of IVF which I'm greatful for as I know not everyone is lucky to get that option. There's still that hope there that we can have kids! Just be nice to do it naturally huh!
Seems the HyCoSy didn't know my AF though

iRawra · 11/03/2020 15:49

@Morpho123 Do you know wgat they mean by 'cells' on the report? if there was at all a positive about being sub-par sperm buddies I would say yay. I hope we can try IUI first as I've already got hubby on vits recommended in It Starts With The Egg'. I'm just taking folic acid, omega 3 6 9 and vit D but I'll start on others if needed like ubiquinol and vit C and E, as well as a better form of folate as I've just got the cheapy Holland and Barrett one. I really can't stand the TWW. I went crazy last month thinking I'd ovulated and then I actually hadn't. Then when I knew I had ovulated I barely checked. I think it's because the ultrasound told me I'd definitely ovulated (except I hadn't) I REALLY thought we had a chance. Will try and stay busier and happier this month and do mindfulness meditation.

Cat028 · 11/03/2020 19:26

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining. I have been a silent watcher for a month or so now.

My partner and I are going through initial tests at the moment. I have had my day 3 bloods and HSG tests done. Waiting on the 21 day and ultrasound next. We are due our follow up appointment in June.

DP also has lower morphology at 3% but our doctor didn't seem too concerned about it. I'm hoping his vitamins will have helped improve it slightly though.

Limeflower2 · 11/03/2020 21:38

Hi @Cat028 Welcome to the group!

@Morpho123 Good luck with TWW. My consultant suggested we try a round of IUI first in April. Fingers crossed!

I bought some new supplements from Boots, it is called Proceive Max. It's orange flavour powder, have to dissolve in fluid. OH my... I've never tasted something so bad, it tastes of fish. I'm going have to mix with juices rather than water. Otherwise there is no way I could drink it.

Morpho123 · 12/03/2020 12:16

@iRawra sorry I don't know what the 'cells' part means, but at least it says 'within normal limits' could this maybe be like white blood cells or something? I wouldn't worry too much as it says normal. - I have read 'it starts with the egg' and I take coq10, vitamin c & e. - I think its not going to do any harm for me to be on good supplements aswell as my husband.

@Cat028 welcome! 3% morphology isn't too bad, its only 1% under the recommended, you would probably be fine to try iui? if everything else comes back fine :)

@willithappen we constantly hope for natural conception, I get annoyed with people who take it for granted, its not as easy as we thought! I guess so much has to be right, the stars need to align lol!

@Limeflower2 I haven't tried procieve max, but iv heard about the taste lol! what about some orange juice with it? it may make it more bearable! good luck with your IUI in april! let us know how it is and how the prep is, keeping all my fingers crossed for you!

im 2dpo, the tww is a drag right! i remember this time last year, I tested on mothers day, full of hope and enthusiasm, well i can test mothers day this year but im not going to! lol xxx

iRawra · 12/03/2020 15:52

@Morpho123, I'm crossing my fingers for a mother's Day miracle for you :) I'm going to write the cells part down on our list of questions to ask the consultant on our first appointment

Morpho123 · 12/03/2020 16:40

@irawra thank you but I don’t get my hopes up anymore, it’s easier that way to expect AF! Defo write that on your list of questions to ask, let us know what they say!
We need a miracle in this group soon! Xx

Limeflower2 · 12/03/2020 22:36

@Morpho123 I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for this tww.:)

Chochaw · 13/03/2020 06:25

I'm out this month. AF arrived today. Also heard that our hospital have cancelled all treatment till the coronavirus has cleared up as all staff have been redeployed so our IUI will be delayed.

Limeflower2 · 13/03/2020 10:29

@Chochaw Sorry to hear about your AF! Did they say how long is the delay for your IUI? xx

Morpho123 · 13/03/2020 12:06

@Chochaw that's disappointing, do you know how long you will have to wait? I hope it isn't long, we really do not need this additional stress right now.

I have requested copies of all my results from my tests/scans from the hospital, im so lucky that the fertility nurse is so kind, she actually said they aren't allowed to give them out anymore, but she would do it for me, because she doesn't agree because they are my results, so shes posting them out sneakily. im so grateful, we want to take them to our private ivf consultation so they can review all the results too before we look to start any treatment. - we are booking further tests this weekend, so would be having them in the next couple of weeks and I wanted to be able to take as much info as I could on where we are currently at! I am grateful for kind people in this world!

hope all of your girls have a lovely weekend, thinking of you all as always and hoping for good news soon! xxx

Chochaw · 13/03/2020 17:59

The nurse was lovely and said they had no timescale at present. They are taking it on a day to day basis but it is all but emergency treatment being cancelled in our hospital. I'm disappointed but understand why.
Hope you all have a nice weekend. X

Limeflower2 · 13/03/2020 19:28

@Morpho123 That's great you are getting copies of your tests.

Hope y'all have a good weekend. x

Cat028 · 14/03/2020 16:23

Thanks! 😊 @Limeflower2 @Morpho123.

@Morpho123 that's good to know. I feel a bit in the dark about possible options at the moment. Thinking about the maybes can be overwhelming at times.

Hope you look after yourself during tww.

@Chochaw that's such a shame. Fingers crossed it won't be too much of a delay for you.

Limeflower2 · 16/03/2020 15:23

Hi all, hope everyone is well!
I just received a call from my hospital. My appointment for the IUI consultation have been cancelled. :( It's disappointing. But its for the best! She said she will give me an update in 2 weeks time.

Morpho123 · 17/03/2020 12:32

Hi everyone
@Limeflower2 I guess you aren't too surprised with everything that's going on, keep us updated!

is anyone here in isoltation? not sure where you are all based?
im in Essex, currently still at work but not sure for how long!

im 7dpo, started spotting yesterday at 6dpo, some brown tinged cm and now light brown when wiping. its the same thing EVERY month. I know im out as soon as this starts. I don't know why it happens, my progesterone was fine when it was last tested. ill spot now all the way to AF. it really gets me down, iv tried b6 as that's meant to help too, but nothing helps me!

looks like we will be going straight to IVF as soon as we can! xx

Chochaw · 18/03/2020 06:10

@Limeflower2
Sorry to hear your appointment was cancelled too.

@morpho123
I only work 3 days now so start back today but I am nervous about it. My class has normally got 25 in it but there was only 9 yesterday afternoon. I think it will be this week that schools close. We've been asked to make home learning packs and prepare to work from home.

My niece is 38 weeks pregnant and is terrified that she is going to have to go through labour alone. She found d her 1st birth traumatic and had planned for her sister to support her this time round as well as her husband but rules mean she can only have 1 of them. Of course she has picked husband but her sister would be more useful.
My best friend is due to have a csection on 8th April and hospital have announced they are not allowed anyone in theatre with them. I understand that it is to stop spreading but I feel this is very harsh. She was already in a state worrying about not seeing her daughter for a few days as all visits are cancelled. My friend has terrible anxiety and suffered post natal depression after her 1st and I can see it happening now. I want to help her but I need to keep my distance to keep her safe.

All this stuff is scaring me and making me reconsider trying for a baby just now.

I hope everyone is staying safe. Take care.x

Morpho123 · 18/03/2020 12:15

@Chochaw I agree I think the schools could close as of Friday.
im still working in an office and waiting for updates, im based in Essex. all of London has pretty much closed down now.

I completely agree, id be worried about giving birth at the moment, the staff just are not available, bless them. try and comfort as much as you can. I understand what you mean but we are still ttc because its been so difficult for us. however we will go for ivf, when they are all back up and running. so we will naturally ttc until everything improves. - because naturally it hasn't happened for a long time, so if it happens now, id be surprised!
im 8dpo and has red blood on bowel movement, does anyone else get this? I literally have not issues found on hsg or ultra sound, but in the tww if I have a BM I seen to pass blood, which is from the front not back (sorry tmi). brown spotting is still continuing! xx

Cat028 · 19/03/2020 21:24

@Limeflower2 such a shame. We have had my ultrasound/bloods and my DP SA cancelled too. It's total crisis. Hopefully you'll get a positive update soon.

@Morpho123 based in Wales here. My class of autistic pupils closed yesterday and the whole school is closing tomorrow. I believe we are remaining open to to try and support NHS and other key workers with childcare but a lot of confusion around it at the moment.
I'm not surprised it gets your down. Has anyone advised you what could be causing it or has it always been like that for you?

@Chochaw we have been preparing too. I think it's finally sunk in what's going on once the children started to not come in. So frightening for everyone pregnant and preparing for birth. A girl in work with us just gave birth and they had to stay in a few extra days because of everything going on.

Limeflower2 · 22/03/2020 23:00

HI Ladies. I hope you are all doing okay!
@Chochaw It's a scary situation for all the pregnant ladies out there. I hope they will get all the support they need during this difficult time.

I have been working from home since last week. Hubby is doing the same, but it's not easy in a small apartment.
Not sure when will the fertility department will be operating again in the UK, some says 6 months time on another forum, it's frustrating for us but at the same time it's a blessing we haven't start the treatment yet. I guess we are just going to TTC naturally for the next few months as we are stuck at home anyway. :)

Stay safe ladies! xx

iRawra · 23/03/2020 08:52

Hi everyone,

Leeds Fertility closed as per the guidelines so that's a bit gutting. I'm assuming it is the same all around the country. DH had his second SA last week to confirm the morphology issue. Still 1% but every other aspect was better than the previous SA after only a month on supplements. I know it may just be a fluke but we are really happy and looking forward to see if in 3 months the morphology has improved.

DH has also been asked to take a 10% wage cut - better than 100% of nothing though. We feel lucky under the circumstances.

We had a confirmed case at my work, which is actually the guy I sit next to and I sat next to him at our team dinner not the friday just gone, but the friday before. The Monday after the meal (last Monday) when we found out he and his family were in quarantine, work just let us sit there and didn't send us home. No deep clean or anything... I basically took it upon myself to stay home as I believe it's majorly irresponsible to be there. Does anybody agree? DH wanted me home as soon as we found out but I stayed in another day after as I was sure they'd end up sending us home before that. We have elderly relatives to look after :(

Cat028 · 23/03/2020 17:49

@Limeflower2 we are doing the same as you. Trying naturally for now and trying to remain positive. The extra measures that have had to be put in place are sad but necessary. I heard that partners are no longer allowed in for scans.

@Chochaw No, I totally agree it's irresponsible of them. A deep clean/isolation should have happened. You need to look after yourself and your vulnerable loved ones. I am on a rota for 1 day a week as we are supporting NHS workers with childcare in schools. But my husband is still in 4 days a week. I think it's wrong. Stay safe everyone!

Cat028 · 23/03/2020 17:52

Sorry! Tagged the wrong person! @iRawra

Morpho123 · 23/03/2020 18:23

Hi girls! I’m CD1 today, and called the fertility clinic about clomid, they are not doing follicle scans (as expected) so delaying treatment. I do completely understand but I can lie, I’m gutted. Iv waited so long for my results to get this far and finally start treatment (Iv had them in my cupboard since December, but didn’t start until everything was given the all clear)!
But obviously everything else is so much more important but still my heart hurt a little.
I just hope everyone is keeping well and safe. We’re staying indoors as much as possible but I’m working on a ‘2 days in, 2 days at home’ rota basis. So back in tomorrow and Wednesday. This is scaring me a little now seeing how people are really suffering. I just hope is passes quickly xxxx
