Your not out until AF arrives though so don't count yourself out just yet x x

carleygh · 25/11/2019 07:03

I guess so but the early ones would surely detect it. No they said six months is the maximum because of the supposed increases cancer risks @CharlotteCx xx

Goingbacktokansascity · 25/11/2019 07:30

@carleygh sorry to hear that about the BFN, frustrating to not be able to just get on with it.
Had the tiniest bit of blood on wiping today so hoping AF arrives full force tomorrow, calling the clinic today to ask to chance to cycle day 3-7 and increase the dose to quadruple dose which she said she would do if I wasn’t pregnant after 3 cycles (I’ve only done two but impatient)

BonTon · 25/11/2019 08:12

Sorry to hear that @carleygh. As @CharlotteCx says, hopefully it’s too early. If not, I think you said you’ll go to the injections? They’re really not that bad actually...

@goingbacktokansascity - hopefully it’ll arrive today. So strange!

carleygh · 25/11/2019 08:15

So strange for you @Goingbacktokansascity how frustrating but hopefully it's on it's way! Have you ovulated the last two times?

@BonTon yes I hope so maybe... yes that's right fingers crossed they do, my consultant mentioned it but she also seemed pretty confident the Clomid would work so didn't give too much information about the injections. Are they the same amount of cycles as Clomid? Is it one a day or....? X

Goingbacktokansascity · 25/11/2019 08:53

@carleygh yeah I’ve ovulated the last two times although I must have ovulated late this cycle I presume s when they said an 18mm follicle t must have continued growing till about 24/26mm to explain why I’m so late!

carleygh · 25/11/2019 10:26

@Goingbacktokansascity ohh I see you'll have to let me know if they increase it. They wouldn't let me as said it was working fine and I was ovulating so wouldn't :(

CharlotteCx · 25/11/2019 11:10

@carleygh did you use the FRER one? I get what your saying but still wait it out and don't count yourself out until AF arrives. Hopefully she doesn't!! Yeah my gyny said about the increased cancer risks too but what doesn't increase cancer risks these days?! It's worth a ask! I'm going to ask mine if I don't fall after Iv done all my cycles x

BonTon · 25/11/2019 11:19

@carleygh - not sure. Think I’ll have at least 3 (I only had 3 cycles of clomid). I started on day 4 and it’s an injection every day until the scan showed I was about to ovulate.

Weirdly, I had the trigger shot on Friday morning but did an ovulation test today (I wondered if I’d been ovulating later than I thought) and it was positive. Any thoughts? I wondered if the trigger shot skewed it maybe.

carleygh · 25/11/2019 11:22

How bizarre I wonder if it did to @BonTon I would have no idea. I'm so clueless with this all 😕
So each cycle of the injections do you have to go in for a scan? Per cycle would you say around ten injections then from day 4 to ovulation? Where do you put them? Sorry for all the questions x

CharlotteCx · 25/11/2019 11:40

@Goingbacktokansascity hopefully you can start your next cycle real soon then! Do you know how comes they'd increase the meds your on even though your ovulating but not Clomid? Is it the risk of Cancer still?

Goingbacktokansascity · 25/11/2019 12:11

@BonTon I think it does skew OPKs because it’s such High dose of artificial LH

@CharlotteCx I’m not sure. Both letrozole and clomid haven’t been tested at fertility doses for long term safety so that’s the hesitance to prescribe for more than 12 months and why they use lowest possible dose. At my appointment before I’d said how I was concerned that I was on triple dose to ovulate and still had low progesterone and she said it was obviously not too low because I did get pregnant, but that she would be happy going up to 10mg if I didn’t conceive within 3 months. I’m waiting call back

CharlotteCx · 25/11/2019 12:21

@Goingbacktokansascity ah ok I get it. How comes your on letrozole instead of Clomid, did the clomid thin your lining? Let me know what they say!

Goingbacktokansascity · 25/11/2019 12:39

I’m on letrozole because Clomid didn’t make me ovulate and because my AMH is above 100 they couldn’t increase the dose with clomid without risking OHSS and multiples. The clomid had no effect on my lining as far as I was aware! Letrozole at this dose worked last time, but now seems to be giving me a 24 day cycle then now a 34 day cycule

CharlotteCx · 25/11/2019 13:01

Right ok! What is AMH?

CharlotteCx · 25/11/2019 13:04

Dw I've just googled it lol

Goingbacktokansascity · 25/11/2019 14:50

I don’t know how useful amh is before IVF abut I needed it to be diagnosed as PCOS

CharlotteCx · 25/11/2019 15:43

What are considered the 'normal' range AMH??

Goingbacktokansascity · 25/11/2019 16:05

Your AMH levels are considered ‘satisfactory’ if they are above 21.98 pmol/l (picomole per litre).
At any age, a score over 48 pmol/L is considered a relatively high AMH level and could be an initial indication of PCOS. Studies have shown that around 97% of women with a high AMH level of 71 pmol/L or more have PCOS

CharlotteCx · 25/11/2019 16:12

There's so much to learn!! How do you know so much lol.

Goingbacktokansascity · 25/11/2019 16:18

That’s just from google but in general I work in a hospital and like to make sure I’m really Informed before appointments to make sure I can ask the right questions, especially when private and spending so much money

Sylva123 · 25/11/2019 16:55

Hi everyone, I had my scan today to check my follicles (cycle day 10, first round of Clomid after 2 years ttc)
The doc said she was concerned that the lining has thinned and I need to come back on Thursday to check.
Has anyone had this? From what I gather from the forums it's quite a common reaction to clomid.
If it has thinned do the NHS usually move you straight to injectables? If we go private do they cost a bomb?
If I've already ovulated by the time she sees me on Thursday is it too late to do anything? I have cyclogest to start taking after ovulation but don't think that helps

Goingbacktokansascity · 25/11/2019 17:30

@sylva123 letrozole is an option on nhs which doesn’t think lining. I’d still DTD and do the usual because there’s no hard and fast rule about lining, the thicker the better but people implant on thin lining and can have a successful pregnancy it’s just lower chance

BonTon · 25/11/2019 18:06

@carleygh - yes, I went in for scans from day 11. My husband did them in my tummy - I was nervous but it’s actually fine. Let me know how you get on over the next few days. Hopefully it won’t come to that.

@sylva123. What was the thickness and how big are the follicles? I found it was quite thin on clomid until the follicles were quite big then it thickened quite rapidly. Perhaps you’re not late enough in the cycle yet? Mine was around 4mm at day 11 but then doubled by the time I was near ovulation. The injectables don’t have that side effect though I don’t think.

Jemstar33 · 25/11/2019 18:17

@Marmite83 @doomkittycleo congratulations to you both ❤️❤️ I'm so happy for you.
