Hi everyone,

Thought I'd start a thread for those of us undergoing fertility treatment in July/August.

I'm (hopefully) having a FET late July/early August, anyone else want to hop on this thread for the ride?

The a great number brambles7 fingers crossed for you x

Peanut1980 · 22/08/2019 15:38

@lola124. Our embryologist told us that they don’t transfer any later than 5 days as the embryo implants on day 6 or 7. So I guess it could be implantation. You can always check with the clinic it pain worsens x

Marmite83 · 22/08/2019 15:52

That sounds positive @brambles7, fingers crossed there's some good quality ones in there.

@Lola124, I had cramping pains on and off from the day after embryo transfer onwards. I've read that implantation is usually 1-5 days post transfer so it could be implantation. Try not to worry, I know it's hard. I definitely had pains and am currently 5+2.

Lola124 · 22/08/2019 17:25

Ah thankyou ladies seems to have worn off now , glad it’s “normal” Smile

Brambles7 · 22/08/2019 17:36

Thanks everyone. @Lola124 glad those pains have eased off a bit for you! Hoping they were a good sign though that your embryo is getting snug.

Passionfruit20 · 22/08/2019 18:18

@brambles - amazing number! Here’s hoping loads fertilise.

@Lola124 - sorry I can’t help as I didn’t get any cramping whatsoever (I was the opposite and worried because I never got cramping or spotting that it hadn’t worked) but I’ve read lots of others who had cramping very quickly after. Fingers crossed!

Onisa7 · 23/08/2019 08:17

@Brambles7 what a great number. Fingers crossed all the way for you

@Lola124 hope the pains have stoped now.

Anyone going through egg collection this weekend? I'm going back today to see if the follicles grew a bit more Hmm and might trigger today or tomorrow (hopefully tomorrow). I also don't have any more medication beyond tomorrow so something's gotta happen.

Quick question for you more knowledgeable ladies, if my egg collection is Monday (triggering saturday) that will be my day 14 of the cycle, do you think freeze all (if any fertilize) would be the best option? I'm worried that my linning is gonna start deteriorating soon.

Brambles7 · 23/08/2019 09:05

@Onisa7 thank you! Waiting for the embryologist to call this morning now to tell if any have fertilised.

Good luck today with the scan, I really hope those follicles have grown more! My first cycle I didn’t trigger until about day 13 of, they didn’t say anything to me about freezing the embryos. I guess it depends what your lining thickness is today at the scan. Mine was 8.6mm on day 13 and they were happy with that.
But every clinic varies.

Passionfruit20 · 23/08/2019 10:56

@Brambles7 hope you got lots of fertilised eggs!

@Onisa7 they won’t put an embryo back in unless your lining is right. Did they put you straight on progesterone pessaries or injections? That’s to keep your lining right.

Brambles7 · 23/08/2019 11:52

11 fertilised! Am relieved. Now I’m just hoping that at least some are good quality. We had 8 last time and none made it to blastocyst, maybe the ubiquinol I’ve been taking ever since will make a difference.

Passionfruit20 · 23/08/2019 12:22

11 is great @brambles7 ! Awesome news. Now lots of good thoughts for the next few days... I found that wait the hardest.

Onisa7 · 23/08/2019 20:34

@Brambles WOW....11! Amazing. I know every stage is one more stage but that's great news. I'm delighted for you. Fingers crossed...

So, I've done my scan today and they grew a little bit...still not many 2-20mm, 2-17mm, 1-15mm and 1-10mm. I'm gonna carry on with injections for another 2 days and trigger on Sunday to see if the 15 can still grow a little bit, meaning I'll be triggering on day 13. My lining today was at 7.1 and Egg collection booked for Tuesday morning....finally!

I asked today about the blood tests and they said that because I'm not at risk of OHSS and am reacting at a "normal" rate they don't need to monitor it...I'm gonna have to believe it. And no @Passionfruit20, I haven't started the pessaries yet, starting after egg collection they told me told today.

facevalue · 24/08/2019 01:26

hi ladies, i hope it's ok to join this thread. i took my trigger injection and fingers crossed egg collection Sunday. i had IVF before ( one success) but I am so anxious this time. is anyone on 4th or more cycle? i'm definitely different with this

I cried my eyes out in clinic this AM. i got confused with the nurse's instructions and i had a very moody day ( my poor husband ) .

I know you only need one but what we don't even get the one! emotional roller coaster for sure.

@Lola124 fingers crossed. i know how you are feeling i definitely felt implantation pain and spotting before with a NFP. my sister had IVF and she thought she had a normal period and assumed it didn't work - she didn't even bother to pee on the stick! after 2-3 weeks she was approaching another clinic to start again and made her have a test and it was bfp

hang in there x

Lola124 · 24/08/2019 07:35

@facevalue
Thankyou I’m still getting the pains seems to be worse in the evening (mayb I’m busy during the day so don’t notice it as much ) definitely fills like period pains Hmm but I’m not going to test early I don’t think I could face the disappointment yet I’m just trying to keep positive iv read that quite a few people thought they was coming on there period and turned out to be bfp so I’m praying that’s what it is hubby keeps asking me do I fill preganant Confused I don’t bloody know what does it fill like to be pregnant Confused

facevalue · 24/08/2019 10:46

i got exactly those symptoms when i was pregnant and absolutely don't bother testing because the result will mean nothing

DawnK77 · 24/08/2019 11:22

Hi @Lola124 I've got the similar today, one minute im not sure if period pains, or of i need the loo! What day are you on? Xx

Lola124 · 24/08/2019 11:39

@DawnK77 had the transfer wed so day 3 or 4 would that be not sure if you count the day or not ?

DawnK77 · 24/08/2019 11:45

@lola134 to be honest I don't know either lol so I am either day 5 or day 6. When is your official test day? Xx

Lola124 · 24/08/2019 11:50

@DawnK77 the 2nd sept it fills soooo long away ! How long have you had the pains for ? I was fine on the day it was the day after and up untill this morning they seem to have gone now but like I said it seems to be in the evening about 5ish for some reason

DawnK77 · 24/08/2019 11:55

@lola124 I had a few that night after transfer. Then Thursday at work a few long ones. This morning what feels like period pains / ovary ache?! Also in my head I'm wondering am I making these pains up in my head. My test day is day before so 1st, then I start a new job on 2nd .. not great timing! Yes I get what you mean, time seems to have stood still! Xx

Brambles7 · 24/08/2019 13:25

@DawnK77 and @lola124 time totally stands still during the 2ww. Hope you both have a few things planned to try and distract?

@Onisa7. How are you today?

Just back from the clinic, had 2 embryos put in of “average” quality. Same as last the last cycle. I had so desperately hoped to get some to day 5 and some to freeze. The nurse was lovely though and reminded me that if no pregnancies resulted from day 2 transfers they wouldn’t bother doing it.

DH was busy today and couldn’t come with. Trying to stay positive, finding it hard.

DawnK77 · 24/08/2019 13:31

Hi @brambles7. Good luck for your transfers!
I'm trying to keep busy, how about you? Xxx

Lola124 · 24/08/2019 14:01

@Brambles7 my best friend has a beautiful 18 month old little boy from a day 2 transfer it defo happens

Brambles7 · 24/08/2019 14:28

Thanks both! @Lola124 that’s really heartening to hear, thank you.
Such a big deal out of blastocysts being successful it’s easy to forget that’s not everyone’s experience.

TinyPaws · 24/08/2019 19:39

@Dlpdep Gosh, so sorry that happened to you. I thought a MMC at 6 weeks (confirmed at 8 weeks and passed at 10 weeks) was bad enough, 16 weeks must have been horrendous.

@Brambles7 Glad you have 2 safely on board although I can understand the disappointment of not having anything to freeze. Hopefully one or both of those little embryos can become your baby/ies!

@Lola124 Glad you made it to transfer, hope you're coping ok with the 2WW. This part of the process is hard!

@Onisa7 I'm sure your lining will be just fine after 14 days, plenty of ladies naturally ovulate day 14 or later in the cycle and go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies.

@facevalue Welcome and good luck for tomorrow! I've done 3 cycles medicated IUI, 1 fresh IVF and 1 frozen FET so been though a few treatments.

All quiet for me - no more bleeding. Still struggling to get excited about this pregnancy. Viability scan on Tuesday and really scared - I've never had a good scan before.
