Hi all.
I just wanted to start a new thread for people who are starting ivf/icsi in march or april 2019.

We have had our dates through for our consultant appointment on 4th March to go through all the paperwork sent to us. And then our nurse appointment is 29th March. So hoping to start icsi on my april cycle.

This is our first attempt and really anxious. I have read a bit online but didn't want to get overwhelmed so am trying to just follow the consultants lead.
hoping we can all help each other out on our journeys. 😁 😘

@LillyLeaf I was not given the option of a natural cycle to be honest, my clinic really likes to take over your cycle so they know exactly where you're at. I start Norethisterone on Saturday for 12 days, then wait for AF, when that arrives start injecting Cetrotide and go in for a scan and bloods. Will be given next steps then. Have you any idea what yours will be or will that be discussed at your consultation? I'm also have a scratch this time, is that something you've been offered? I know there's so many conflicting opinions on this that I am a bit apprehensive about it, however my doctor really feels it helps so I'm just going to give it a go 🤷🏼‍♀️

LillyLeaf · 21/02/2019 22:17

@arose08 I think we'll discuss that next week, I'm not even 100% sure when I can start the cycle, just hoping it's soon. My clinic has never mentioned the scratch and I didn't have it with my first fresh transfer and that sort of worked. Are you doing anything extra yourself to get your lining ready? I feel like I need to do something. I also need to get back on the healthy eating.

@LillyLeaf I've decided to do acupuncture along with my cycle this time and funnily enough had my first session today. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be (I'm a little needle phobic) and felt super relaxed afterwards so really looking forward to the whole treatment plan. I feel a lot more prepared and informed this time round which is making me feel more positive, first time round I felt completely lost at times. I've been listening to a few podcasts which I find really help and just trying to eat well, rest well and get back into exercising again (that bit isn't going so well 😊). Have you thought about anything you may do differently? Hoping your AF comes along soon so you can plan your next steps 🤞🏼

DaisyMay25 · 22/02/2019 07:24

@arose08 thank you for that information, very helpful! I'm sorry your cycle failed but I'm glad you can try again straight away, good luck!
I'm still in early stages, for round of icsi due to start injections in about three weeks, just want to go into it knowing all my options at the end if it fails

Wesstywoo · 22/02/2019 08:11

@LillyLeaf my FET will be all tablets, no injections. I don't feel a natural FET would be right for me as my LP is usually only 10 or 11 days and I wonder if this is half my problem with TTC given that at least 5 of that is the fertilised egg getting to blast and then it needs to implant and produce HCG! My cycles have also been longer since my CP - they are usually between 22 and 26 days. Last cycle was 35 and at the moment I'm on CD31. Have tested and it's BFN so impatiently waiting for AF to arrive so I can get my new dates sorted

arose08 · 22/02/2019 08:27

@DaisyMay25 thank you, it has been hard following the failure as I was convinced I was pregnant! Had every symptom going, did keep reminding myself that the drugs also make you feel like this but especially the last few days before test day (I did not test early as didn't want to risk a false positive) I was just convinced. So a tip from me would be to not look into how you're feeling too much during the 2WW, some ladies feel completely normal and then are pregnant, some feel everything 🙋🏼‍♀️ and aren't. We also had ICSI - wishing you the best of luck and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask 👍🏼

LillyLeaf · 22/02/2019 17:13

@arose08 I pretty eat healthy 90%of the time anyway but I did cut down on sugar the first time and I don't drink alcohol anyway. I also did acupuncture so I'll do that again. I really should be exercising, I should start that again but I'm too busy/lazy.

@Wesstywoo I worry about a natural cycle too, I'm not bothered about injections (weirdly liked doing them last time until my stomach got sore). I do worry that my cycles will be messed up after the MC so a medicated cycle is probably for the best.

I got a negative Pg test this morning (faint positive last week) so hopefully my cycle will get going, I'm pretty sure I haven't ovulated yet.

DaisyMay25 · 25/02/2019 19:12

I'm all booked in for my injection appointment on the 13th very excited to get everything started!

White13 · 25/02/2019 21:14

We have our medical consultation next Monday. I don't think I have had an AMH test.
I've had two blood test to see if I ovulate and an internal scan.
I am going to ring the clinic tomorrow but just wanted to know if any of you haven't had one and everything has still gone ahead. X

Hi ladies may I join?
We've just signed our consent forms today, hoping to start next cycle, although unsure at the moment when that will be.
I had cysts and polyps removed 2 weeks ago so waiting for my next af.
We're doing our 1st Icsi after 3 failed OI's and 1 failed ivf. It's been a long 7 years but still feeling hopeful.
Good luck to everyone!

LillyLeaf · 26/02/2019 18:15

I had my follow up appointment today after my last cycle and MC. I have to wait for my AF then will down reg on cd 21. Seems like such a long wait especially when I have no idea when this AF will come. I just want to get on with the FET. So much waiting.

arose08 · 26/02/2019 18:26

@White13 I had my AMH test done on my initial consultation so they may do the same with you. Good luck x

White13 · 27/02/2019 00:30

@arose08 I rang them today and they have added it to our blood tests next week. All these consent forms is very daunting. Alot of information to take in.
How is everyone getting on? X

Follow up appointment yesterday after freeze all last month and I'm ovulating so we are good to go with a non medicated transfer next week! 😬🤞

White13 · 27/02/2019 13:30

@omalleyalleycat that's such good next. Fingers crossed it all goes perfectly. X

Can I join please? I had my nurse appt yesterday - lots to take in! Start stims on 19 March - so scared, I feel overwhelmed. I am also on DHEA and wondered if anyone else was. I am just sooo tired all the time since taking it, which is weird as I thought it was meant to give you more energy! Good luck everyone.

Justwaitingforaline · 27/02/2019 19:11

Hello all! We also had our follow up from freeze all last month and have been given the green light! We were offered the chance to start this period (in two days time) but we’re going to hold off for the one at the end of March Smile I’ll be using Estrogen tablets and progesterone pessaries!

2019isouryear · 27/02/2019 19:37

Hi all hoping to join the chat. We had our appt with the consultant today for all the initial consent forms, there where so many. Been told to ring on my next AF next week to go through more consent forms and some final blood tests, hopefully starting treatment beginning of April at next cycle. This is our first cycle so extremely nervous but eager to get started. We’ve been recommended ICSI due to DH mobility and been a little anxious about what literature says about potential risks but think I am overthinking things. Good luck ladies x

LillyLeaf · 27/02/2019 20:07

@omalleyalleycat that's so exciting, I'm hating all this waiting. I have no idea where in my cycle I am. I'm having an aquascan on Friday, anyone had this? I've had a Hycosy which I think is similar.

Ruthyroo81 · 02/03/2019 09:27

How is everyone doing?

@Lillyleaf- how did your aqua scan go?

@2019isouryear- we are also starting Icsi next cycle and share your concerns but like you've said we're probably overthinking it all.

2019isouryear · 02/03/2019 09:57

@Ruthyroo81 Good luck. As this is our first time everything is unknown. We’ve got last blood tests coming up shortly then shud be ready to go in April. Going to go with advice of consultant and keep our fingers crossed x

LillyLeaf · 02/03/2019 10:44

Aquascan went really well, no concerns so they are happy to start down reg for FET on my next cycle, they kept saying it all looks beautiful which I thought was funny. We did some extra blood tests to see if anything indicates why I miscarried. I felt I might have regretted not doing them if we have another MC. Apparently I'll be ovulating this weekend so fingers crossed AF turns up in a few weeks. Transfer is still ages away.

DaisyMay25 · 02/03/2019 22:23

@2019isouryear this is also my first cycle, doing ICSI because of bad results across the board, honestly the risks are no different to IVF really. I'm due to start my injections on 13th March, that's if my scan goes well that day and all looks good. I'm also feeling in between nervous and anxious.

Strangely a part of me just wants it over and done with so I can know the outcome either way if that makes sense!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

@LillyLeaf sorry if this sounds stupid but what's an aquascan?

Ruthyroo81 · 03/03/2019 09:59

@2019isouryear thankyou and good luck to you too!

@Lillyleaf I'm glad your scan went well. It is funny isn't it how they describe your insides as beautiful when to you it's like a load of white blobs on screen.

I would do exactly the same with the bloods we need to give ourselves the best chance.
When will you get the results?
@DaisyMay25 completely agree with you, the waiting and process of it all is just too much we just want a great end result!

Good luck all!

I hope everyone else is ok!
Xx

LillyLeaf · 03/03/2019 12:12

@DaisyMay25 an aquascan is putting saline into the uterus to getting a better look at the shape of the uterus with a scan to see if there are any problems and look for reasons why implantation might not happen. I think after my MC they just wanted to check it all looked ok.

@Ruthyroo81 on my first transfer they referred to my embryos as beautiful. It was just a blob of cells. I should get the results in from next week, but some might take longer, they took 7 vials of blood! So lots of different tests. Hopefully they won't delay my transfer.

Hope everyone is doing ok
