Hi everyone, just had my first down regulation injection this morning with a scan booked for next Thursday. This will be the transfer of my remaining embryo. I had a little boy last year via ICSI so I know I've been very lucky already.

Anyone else starting now?

@Amyk18 thank you so much. I have literally had no idea. I don’t know anyone that has gone through or is going through ivf/Isci and the doctors don’t ever really give you an idea whether it’s good or not. I put 2 didn’t make it but it was 3! I’m sending lots of positive thoughts and energy your way that you get more this time. X

@beeflower22 I know the feeling, i don’t know anyone either and I’m reluctant to tell anyone because all they do is ask then and when our Fresh transfer failed I felt like I’d let everyone down because it hadn’t worked so we’ve decided we are only telling our parents when we go for the transfer now, I feel like it’s less pressure. I hope you’re ok! We’re all in it together so don’t feel alone X

Thank you @luckyme11 I do talk to close family and friends, but they know as much as I do about how it works! So it’s nice to talk to people who are physically experiencing it alongside me! I go through different feels about the whole thing, sometimes I’m so sure it’s gonna work then adimant it’s not! How wonderful would it be if it was guaranteed?! 🙊

Hi everyone . . . eleven eggs were collected yesterday, of which six fertilised normally via ICSI. I'm praying that at least one of them makes it to day 5; the numbers are lower than our previous attempts

@beeflower22 aww thanks! That’s the same as us we talk to our mums about it but they just lend a sympathetic ear! I actually found the whole process totally fine, I did the short protocol and I had zero side effects from the injections etc but now I’m doing the frozen transfer I’m on progynova and that’s not made me feel great, I start the pessaries tomorrow. I know what you mean, we were so positive about the first one as all the drs kept saying everything is perfect etc and then when it didn’t work, we were both gutted. Our consultant then told us to lower our expectations 🙁 I wish there was a guarantee, how amazing! X

Hello @redpandafluff that’s brilliant! I hope you’re feeling ok? I have been told at every stage it’s quality not quantity - I will keep everything crossed for you. Good luck X

Just got the call, 17 out of 24 where mature enough to use but only 9 fertilised (via icsi) I think because of the quality of my partners sperm. I am finding this a bit hard to process I thought it was me with all the issues but now it seems it’s both of us. 9 is not a bad number but last time we had 8’then only 2 survived to day 5 so I’m guessing it’s going to be a similar situation. On top of that apparently only 50% of those will be chromosomaly normal and that’s for an average person I suspect I will be different given my history if miscarriages.
Sorry to sound so negative feeling very deflated today Sad
How are you guys all doing any news? X

I'm in a similar situation, @AmyK18 - only five of eleven have made it to day 2. I really hope we have at least one left by day 5 😣

I know It is really depressing seeing them fall by the wayside having started with a decent number.
If it’s any consolation I had only 6 fertilised (out of 13 harvested) and 3 of them made it to strong blasts on day 5 - one to transfer and still 2 left to freeze.
Good luck over the next few days.

My DR scan went well, lining is thin, only bad thing that my endometriosis did not gone, so I am starting stimulations with Meriofert tomorrow. I am very excited :)

So I had my scan today and I've to have my frozen transfer next Thursday. I've to start using the Cyclogest pessaries. Has anyone else used them? They're not the same as the type I had last time and I'm a bit concerned about getting them in properly!

@StoneMe yup I’m on them now but i use them vaginally rather rectoraly (sorry tmi) as the latter is to weird for me. Just treat them like a tampon when you use them. Good luck!

LillyLeaf · 22/11/2018 15:55

I've taken Cyclogest pessaries before, they are totally fine. If you can lay down for 20mins after that will help with absorbing but you will need panty liners as they can be a bit messy.

Embryo stats for day 3 . . .

We have four embryos doing well - one at 9 cells, one at 8 cells, and two at 7 cells (they should be between 6 and 10 cells today). Two more embryos are slow and probably won’t progress much further - one is at 4 cells and one is at 3 cells.

We have two embryos at grade 1, two borderline grade 1-2, and two at grade 2.

This is all good news, right? I've never had so much detail before. I just need at least one to hang in there until Saturday!

Good luck for your update tomorrow, @AmyK18 - let us know how you get on.

I'm absolutely terrified that I'll get a phone call on Saturday morning saying none of them made it 😣

Still got my fingers crossed for everyone's little embryos. I finally had my bleed today after norethindrone so I'm having my baseline scan this afternoon but not sure it's it too early? If I've only bled for half a day surely my lining won't be thin enough? It would be really difficult to go for a scan tomorrow. I've had a rotten cold the last few days so I'm worried this will have an affect, surely IVF is best when you're fit and well? Hope everyone is coping ok.

Good luck with your scan @LillyLeaf and to everyone waiting for updates on embryos!

I've had 3 doses of menopur and so far no symptoms
