Hi everyone, just had my first down regulation injection this morning with a scan booked for next Thursday. This will be the transfer of my remaining embryo. I had a little boy last year via ICSI so I know I've been very lucky already.

Anyone else starting now?

@Guio it sounds horrible but I really wish I wasn't going back home (parents) for Christmas, I would love to stay in my home with DP and the cat especially if IVF doesn't work out. I really hope family don't start with the 'when will you have a baby?' but they must know not to ask, I'm 35, it must be obvious we're trying and failing.

@CautiousOptimist good luck with transfer x
@Guio my DR scan is on wednesday, I hope to start stims on thursday x
I told my DH yesterday not to make any plans for Christmas, not to invite any friends and tell friends we are not going anywhere. It will be either very happy Christmas or very sad.

@LillyLeaf I am 35 as well ☺. I think I made a big mistake telling a few people including family and work. one of them is 8 months pregnant now and she was asking me the other day how I am getting on as we get on well and I said fine just with injections and of course I asked her what about you?ready to give birth?and I left...@Beetroot01 yes a very happy or sad Christmas unfortunately,I will start menopur on Wednesday so very close to you.

One of my friends knows we're ttc but doesn't know about the IVF, she had her baby in the summer and tries to say the 'right' thing (while holding her baby), but doesn't really get it, and asks 'how you getting on?' which means 'are you pregnant yet?' No one else knows, not even my family, but my mum probably has a good idea things might not working out. I really don't know how to get out of all these Christmas parties, people will absolutely think I'm pregnant.

I'll hopefully be starting Ovaleap (stims) on Friday 🤞

Thank you for the good luck wishes Smile

My transfer is done and I’m now resting up at home.

It was pretty painful tbh, but that’s only because I have a ‘kink’ in my cervix which the surgeon described as trying to get a straight rod round a corner! Shock It’s quite rare, so hopefully all your transfers will be pain-free!

I’ve had one embie put back and at least two, possibly four, are being frozen.

There’s nothing to do now (apart from continuing with the pessaries) until 30th November, so I shall be trying to distract myself as much as possible. Starting with Fantastic Beasts at the cinema tonight!

Good luck everyone. 🤞🏻

I'm 35 too and used to all of the questions. I've ended up telling our families about the IVF. For a couple of years when we were TTC I just found it quite stressful having to make excuses or change the subject when anyone mentioned us having kids and then when it came to IVF I was sick of it being a secret and just decided to be honest. And I'm really glad I did. People have been so supportive. More than I thought they would be. and it's nice for us both to have that support. And also it means people have been really understanding when we've said we can't commit to doing things over Christmas, so now we don't really have any plans which is what I wanted because I knew it would potentially be a very stressful time.

I know telling people isn't the right choice for everyone but unless there's a specific reason why you can't I would recommend considering it. I've also told all of my friends and a couple of close work friends and then for everyone else at work who I'm not particularly close to I just said I had a family commitment i couldn't get out of so couldn't make my Christmas party. And I have made similar excuses for other things.

It's the last day of norethindrone for me today, thank god! I've had a few mild cramps so fingers crossed a bleed will comes soon. Terrified of the baseline scan (after my failed one last time), I've had a few twinges around my right ovary so worried it's either follicles or a cyst. Hope everyone is getting on ok.

Hi @LillyLeaf I finished nothisterone on Wednesday and period arrived on Saturday. I have my baseline scan tomorrow - what is it that they will be looking for?

Report
LillyLeaf · 19/11/2018 13:24

@Wesstywoo I really hope my period will come the third day too. I think the baseline scan is to check lining is ok and ovaries are quiet and you're ready to start stims. Good luck with the scan.

Hello, do you guys mind if I jump on this thread?
My stats:
-Nearly 33
-Currently on second stimulation cycle, my egg collection procedure is tomorrow.
-Had a hysteroscopy in July for uterine septum
-Have PCOS

  • Had 3 misscarrisges back to back earlier in the year (very early ones) which prompted testing

Only got two 2 blastocysts from 19eggs collected on first cycle hence why we are going again before attempting any transfers. Hoping to do one around Xmas.

Question - has anyone done PGS testing??
My dr has advised we do it on the ones we get tomorrow (if any) as I had so many miscarriages but I keep changing my mind about it. There is a small chance of them getting damaged and we have so few to play around with I just can’t decide.

How are you all doing today?

@LillyLeaf - when I went for baseline scan day 2 of AF after first egg collection, I had an cyst so they put me on the pill for 2 weeks in the hope it would go away on its own otherwise I would need to have it drained but I wanted to tell you, I had a little bit of apple cider vinegar everyday and I think that really helped. There’s no medical proof that it works but some poeple swear by it and it worked for me. Hopefully you will be all clear though but just incase I recommend it Smile

Hello Smile

I was hoping I could join this thread with you lovely ladies!

A little about me I’m 32, TTC for 5 years, we have MFI.

I had my egg collection in July we ended up with 7 blastocysts and one put back in, in August. Unfortunately it didn’t stick around. So now we are on our first FET and all being well it should be on 27th of Nov. They said that the embryologist will call on the 27th and let us know that it has defrosted ok and then arrange for us to go in so I’m guessing it’ll be later that day?!

I must admit I’m still on Progynova and it’s making me so paranoid and anxious. I’ve lost half a stone because of it but I suppose if we get the outcome of our dreams the. It’ll all be worth it won’t it!

Thanks Ladies X

Just got home from EC. The anaesthesiologist totall buggered up at first put a needle and tube in my left wrist then decided it wasn’t a secure vein so had I put it in my right hand, it was so painful!
Got 24 eggs which is v good but some were from smaller follicles so they won’t all be mature enough to use.
DH had very low sperm count again, same as last time so we are defiantly doing icsi. I don’t really know what’s going on with him he was fine when tested earlier this year. I think 5 daysnis too long for him to obstain if we have to do this again will do 3 next time.
Going to be a tense few days while waiting for results.
@luckyme11 - welcome! Is MFI male fertility issues haven’t heard that abbreviation before?
Hope you guys are all doing ok today?

I had my egg collection yesterday, only managed to get them from my right ovary as my other ovary is tricky to get to.
So only got 7 eggs, they called this morning, 3 are doing perfectly and fertilised. 2 are a little behind so they’re going to keep an eye on them.
Should I feel a bit disappointed with the numbers? I’m beating myself up a little thinking I’ve not got enough 🙈

Hello,

Thank you @Amyk18 😊 mfi male factor infertility.

I hope you’re feeling ok? I felt ok after mine a part from I stood up too quick and my legs nearly wobbled me to the ground. The worse bit was having the anaesthetic in my hand it really hurt when they administered it.
We had icsi too, all 10 eggs fertilised initially but we lost 2 along the way and 7 made it to day 5. 24 is amazing! Fingers crossed for you ❤️

@beeflower22 don’t beat yourself up at all! It only takes one! ❤️ Rest up.

I hope you’re all ok!
X
