September/October IVF

Hey,

I've had my appointment through finally to start my first round of IVF. Our consultation is September and hoping if we start on CD21 (no idea if we will, just what I'm presuming from research) then we will be good to start just after the middle of the month. Anyone else the tentatively waiting for a September start?

Thanks all for the good wishes everyone. Although this is the fourth IVF attempt, and I'm a long time lurker, this is the first time I've joined in on a board and I'm so glad I did, it's lovely to have others cheering you on. Hope you all feel the same too.

Actually, I am very similar - the right runs full steam ahead and the left is like a rabbit in headlights...good luck for Thursday stimm..

Hi @Botanica - same thing happened to me in June-at 7 day scan I had 8 follicles between 20 and 22mm. Triggered that night and they drained all 8 follies and got 6 mature eggs - all 6 fertilised so for me it wasn’t a problem that I stimulated too fast. Hope everything goes well for you at EC 🤞

AF arrived today so I am now officially on my journey, pending results of my baseline scan tomorrow.

I am a little worried because for thw first time ever I have had spotting in between cycles and pains in my ovaries, hope my scan goes ok.

Good luck to anyone elsw who is having scans on injecting or in fact EC

Can I join? Hoping to start in mid October: initial consultation in two weeks and hoping to start few weeks after that!

I'm triggering tonight, yikes!!!

Hi everyone, sorry I've just been lurking since I joined a week or so ago. Today is the day I meet my consultant who will be treating us through our IVF process. I've already been told that I will have my appt with the nurse around mid October. It's a little bit scary now that is real and actually happening. DH has to attend last week for provide a sample which we will receive the results of today. I'm sure from that there will be a few more tests for me and I know we have to have the HEP and HIV tests done.

Good luck to everyone already starting their IVF cycles this month. There is a lot of positive news coming through the board. ✨

Hello everyone

Can I join? Undergoing 3rd round of ICSI at Aberdeen, short protocol. Finishing Norethisterone tablets today. Baseline scan on Monday and start injections... Hopefully EC early October. Here we go again...

1st round in 2014 NHS funded successful!! Joy!!! We have a delightful 3year old girl. Everything went like clockwork. ICSI treatment, pregnancy and labour; text book! So of course I expected first round of self funded to be the same... BFN disappointment and devastation... I'm 37 and egg quality has diminished, male factor Infertility. Last cycle in May I had 2 follicles responded early however decision was to allow them to mature in order to bring up the slower follicles. 11 aspirated, 8 eggs retrieved, 5 injected. Only 1 fertilised. BFN.

I asked at consultation what I can do to help my eggs but was told there is nothing I can do. I have made enquiries about fertility womb massage, worth a try... Has anyone had this?

Welcome @teajenny81. Sorry to hear about the second round of IVF BFN. I can’t really advise but just wanted to reach out. I have a son who is 5 years old. Conceived naturally. I’m 38. We’re just starting our first round of IVF/ICSI. I feel egg quality will be my issue. Hubbys sperm count was low but he missed the blimin pot so they think that contributes to his low count. He should have been tested again but he hasn’t been back. His count is 5 mil so hopefully we’ve got some good swimmers that can be extracted. Motility and morphology was good x

Just had baseline scan on day 2 of AF, so right ovary has 6 visible follies, one is a whopping 11.4mm and one other st 7.8, others are all around the 5 mark, left one has 12 visible: one at 9.8, 4 around the 8 mark and remaininh at 5 mark. Now waiting for my protocol.

Other thing was in my scans in May, they said follicle pattern indicated pcos, now they are saying no indication.

Endo is 3.2mm which is good but not really important as we are freezing all hopefully.

@anisl that sounds great! They didn’t measure mine in my baseline scan. I’m back there on Monday so I’ll check with them then x

I have not posted for a while but I had egg collection yesterday and now have 11 fertilised eggs. Need to wait and see how they develop. I think all this waiting is going to be very stressful!

Crazyeyes3 that is amazing!! 11 fertilised eggs. This is the dream!! I only had 5 fertilised the first time and then just 1 last time. Counting down the days then the dreaded 2WW. xx

I was so worried that none would fertilise that I burst into tears when I got the call which is not like me at all. Don’t think I realised how stressed I was feeling. Hopefully I’ll be having one transferred on Monday.

Crazyeyes wow thats amazinh, fingers crossed you get 11 day 5 blasts

Hi girls my clinic sent the AC result done in day 4 and I got 2 follicles in the right ovary and 9 is left.Is that low? could this mean that when ttc if ovulate from the right the chances are lower?I don't understand why one of them is so low 😔

Guio hour chances to conceive whether you ovulate from the left or right is the same, you only have one released egg a month, whether thats the left or right your body decides.
In terms of the count of follies, is this before stimulation? It also depends on the skill of the person undertaking the scan too.

Peanut1980 forgive me but I thought all baseline scans included folly count and size. Perhaps its different depending on where u go
