IVF July/August 2018

Hey,

So like the title says really is anyone about to start an IVF cycle in July or August?

This is my first cycle and I’m excited/petrified!!! I would love to have some cycle buddies to chat to and for support. It’s all self funded as due to the postcode lottery we get no NHS cycles.

Just a little background. I’m 34, have been TTC for 2 and a bit years now, initial diagnosis PCOS and I had 7 cycles of Clomid which resulted in me falling pregnant in December but sadly I had a MMC at 11 weeks. I have since been diagnosed with endometriosis following an unexpectedly low AMH result. My right ovary is has a significant cyst.

I have an endometrial scratch on Monday and will begin down reg on Monday night. I’m a nurse so have no fear of needles but not sure how I’ll manage with injecting myself.

Really hope to have some company on this journey xxx

@positivethinkingrainbow am thinking of you and hoping for a positive! I didn’t really have any symptoms. Maybe some mild cramping but I would get that before my period too. Symptoms always start for me about 5 weeks onwards. X

@sparklyshelle yes! Started to feel movement about a week ago and he has really ramped it up the last couple of days. Like tiny little pokes. Hope you’re doing well and feeling ok x

SparklyShelle · 29/11/2018 21:42

Oh how amazing @elaydee!!!

He 💙💙 a blue one! How lovely!! Glad you’re keeping well!

I’m just exhausted but it’s all good thanks - scan confirmed for 20th Dec - feel like that’s the goal at rhe moment!

Elaydee · 29/11/2018 22:11

@sparklyshelle will that be 7 weeks for you? That’s when I was offered my first one by my clinic. You should be able to see a heartbeat by then 💗

SparklyShelle · 30/11/2018 06:34

@elaydee I’ll be exactly 8 weeks by then ❤️ Can’t wait x

Hello Ladies,

Simply can not believe I am typing these words but this morning we had TWO LINES - BFP!!!

Does not feel real at all and think we are both a bit scared to believe it, phoned the clinic and they have booked us in for the 19th December for a viability scan which they do at 6 and half weeks.

I feel like I just want to buy another 100 tests and just keeping testing everyday till 19th!!!! Keeping everything crossed that this little peanut is a fighter and stays strong, so sad that you can not help but think lets keep things real!

@SparklyShelle think that makes us less then two weeks apart!!

@Elaydee so crazy that your starting to feel movement!!!

I am still having to take 3 x 2mg Progynova and 2 x 400g Cyclogest Pessaries, is this normal?

Baby Dust To ALL!!!

Elaydee · 30/11/2018 14:18

@positivethinkingrainbow ahhhhh!!! Absolutely over the moon for you!!!! Such a long journey for you and am thrilled you have a positive! Seems like this is a lucky thread!

Yeah, the worrying and trying to keep ‘realistic’ hangs around. Statistically after a positive, you’re more likely to continue the pregnancy, but you can’t help holding off a bit of the joy after a struggle!

I was prescribed cyclogest only up until test day. Everyone is different with their plan, so I’m sure for you, it is normal!

SparklyShelle · 01/12/2018 17:04

Oh @positivethinkingrainbow that’s amazing news!! Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 I’ve done another 2 tests since so I totally hear you on wanting to test everyday!! My scan in the day after you so we seems to be close in everything ❤️

Im desperate to know if you have any symptoms yet? I can’t quite figure out if mine are in my head or not!!

I jus ordered the ‘bump to birthday’ book on Prime so I’ll be sitting by my doorstep all day tomorrow waiting for it to arrive 😂

I’m the same as @Elaydee - my cyclogest pessaries we’re right up until test day and then just vitamins and folic acid from there, but everyone’s different so don’t worry.

Enjoy being on cloud 9!! X

Hi Ladies,

How is everyone?

Devastatingly our last cycle ended with being a chemical pregnancy.
So we are moving on to FET number two.
Last time we used a 4aa, this time our clinic had decided to defrost one our smallest earlier to see if it continues growing overnight, if it does not then they will defrost our second large embroy.
Transfer should be 29th Jan if all goes well.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas xxx

SparklyShelle · 30/12/2018 00:04

@positivethinkingrainbow I’m so sad to hear this news 😔

I’m beginning to feel that with good news comes bad - 18 days after our BFP and being on top of the world, completely out of the blue my Mum took a huge seizure and we found out she has lung cancer with mets on her brain! Life has spiralled from the happiest time to the saddest! So although I am currently 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant, it all feels so tainted and with the stress of this news I dread to think what could happen...😔

I feel the pain you must be going through - let’s hope that your next FET is the one that is meant to be! Take care and positive vibes for the 29th Jan xx

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 30/12/2018 13:09

@SparklyShelle so sorry to hear about your mum, life can be so beyond cruel at times. I know you are strong because of the journey you have been on to get pregnant and that strength will keep your baby strong.

I know it's hard to think positive with all that is going on with your mum but try to enjoy and takes moments where you can to think of the miracle that inside of you and enjoy it because you have waited so long.

Thinking of you and hear to talk if you need it, I will just be here injecting myself daily till 29th ;) xxx

@positivethinkingrainbow thank you! Life is cruel, very cruel sometimes 😔😔

How did the injections go? Are you around egg retrieval/implantation now? Fingers crossed for you!!

I had a 11+4 reassurance scan yesterday with all of the stress and baby looks beautiful 🦋

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 23/01/2019 13:35

@SparklyShelle OMG that scan photo is what we all dream of seeing!!!

So happy for you, hows it all going? How do you feel, had any cravings or sickness? You must be walking on cloud nine!

Hows your Mum now?

I have my transfer on 29th Jan, so this time next week fingers crossed I will be PUPO.

I have three frosties left, one large and 2 smaller, they going to defrost a smaller one first the night before this time to see if it continues to develop over night, if it looks good in the morning we will go for that one. If it does now survive they have time to defrost the larger one and have time to put that one in.

The theory is they put my largest one in last time and it did not work, so they think giving the smaller one ago might be the way forward.

I keeping everything crossed!!!

SparklyShelle · 23/01/2019 23:34

@positivethinkingrainbow that’s brilliant!! You’re so close now! Hope the injections aren’t taking too much of a toll on you - it was actually the nasal spray I hated the most, got used to jabbing myself with needles 😂

My Mum has good days and bad days with everything unimaginable in between - we have an appointment on the 29th so it won’t be quite as good a day for us as it will be for you but at least she’s getting help eventually! Thank you so much for asking after her ❤️

We have our ‘12 week scan at 14 weeks on the 31st so looking forward to seeing our little icsi pixie grow even bigger...although my swollen tummy is getting there too! I’m a little chunky anyway so it’ll take time to show properly but I definitely feel it!! I’ve not been sick no, but feel queasy everyday - ginger biscuits are good though or apple juice I find. It’s funny, I had a big appetite before but now I eat less than a child would...but I graze all the time! Cravings...em ice cream and strawberry jam sandwiches?! Not together yet mind you but at weird times 🙈

I’ll be sending lots of baby dust your way for next Tuesday - that little embryo will stick I know it - this is your time and you deserve it. Take care and rest as much as you can xxx

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 24/01/2019 08:27

@SparklyShelle so pleased to hear the bump is coming along nicely and what strange cravings, ice cream sandwiches, Brilliant!!!

I am not sure what to do about work after the transfer, did you take any time off after transfer? Did you rest or go about your normal activities? xx

SparklyShelle · 25/01/2019 08:16

@positivethinkingrainbow I took the day after off but the day if the transfer I came home and we were told that our house would be getting photographed the next day (as we were selling) so although I tried to take it easy it didn’t really work out like that. Everything took me ages and my husband was stressing everytime he caught me up but I couldn’t not help him - there was a lot to do and he didn’t see the little things that I saw as important 🙈
Our bodies are amazing - I’d definitely not recommend a whole house clean and rest is beat but sometimes life gets in the way😂😂 xx
