IVF July/August 2018

Hey,

So like the title says really is anyone about to start an IVF cycle in July or August?

This is my first cycle and I’m excited/petrified!!! I would love to have some cycle buddies to chat to and for support. It’s all self funded as due to the postcode lottery we get no NHS cycles.

Just a little background. I’m 34, have been TTC for 2 and a bit years now, initial diagnosis PCOS and I had 7 cycles of Clomid which resulted in me falling pregnant in December but sadly I had a MMC at 11 weeks. I have since been diagnosed with endometriosis following an unexpectedly low AMH result. My right ovary is has a significant cyst.

I have an endometrial scratch on Monday and will begin down reg on Monday night. I’m a nurse so have no fear of needles but not sure how I’ll manage with injecting myself.

Really hope to have some company on this journey xxx

@A280 I’m alright. Don’t want to think how much I’ve spent on tests 😵, but I got a 2-3 weeks on a digital yesterday which is right on track. I’m convinced I’m going to see the line disappear slowly...!

A280 · 27/08/2018 14:26

@elaydee keep positive!!! Have you been for your beta hcg test? At what day past your transfer did you test positive? Im getting so restless waiting!

Elaydee · 27/08/2018 15:30

@A280 NHS don’t do beta, believe it or not. At least not my place! First conformation is a viability scan at 7 weeks!!

My tests never went completely negative. 4 days past (5 day) transfer it was same faint in the morning, midday it was darker and that’s when I knew. 5 days past transfer it stayed dark and I count that as my definite positive. So 9/10 dpo I guess.

aandre26 · 27/08/2018 19:12

I was just wondering if anyone else had a day 2 transfer?

Sunny1984 · 27/08/2018 20:41

@aandre26 mine was a 2 day transfer.

@Elaydee it’s so hard, I’m worrying enough and I’ve only had one loss.

@A280 do you think you’ll test early?

I knew there was someone else in the same boat as me!! @Sunny1984
Do you mind me asking what quality your emrbyo was??
Im at that stage of over thinking now. Im analysing everything, i think im in panic station.
Part of me now wishes id tested from the start lime @Elaydee and id be less nervous for weds lol!!

I definitely am feeling the strain of the two week wait!!! Hmmm

aandre26 · 27/08/2018 21:28

Like** not lime. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Elaydee · 28/08/2018 08:03

... and here is my ectopic paranoia creeping in. Is anyone else getting one sided ovary area dull aches? Mine started last night. Great. I’d try to convince myself it was a CL cyst usually, but don’t think you get them with IVF.

Good luck testing tomorrow @aandre26!

aandre26 · 28/08/2018 08:59

I would go to the doctors @Elaydee ask for tests etc. explain what your feeling. Better to be on the safe side. I really hope its not! But def need to be checked out.good luck!!! X. Xx

A280 · 28/08/2018 09:52

@elaydee I agree with @andre26 better to get it checked out. I hope its nothing but alteast for peace of mind!

@andre26 good luck for the test x

@sunny1984 i did a early test yesterday it was negative so not going to test for few more days. I still have 8 days to my official test date. The waits awful! Keep getting all these thoughts!

Elaydee · 28/08/2018 10:39

Thanks @a280 @ aandre26 ! The problem is that they can't see anything this early anyway. Also last ectopic, my beta rose more than double in 48 hours, so I think i can only alert them and wait it out until the end of the week! :(

Elaydee · 28/08/2018 10:40

@A280 with 8 days to go, you are too early to test I think. Plenty of time :)

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 28/08/2018 11:23

Hello Ladies,

Just been having a catch up read as had a busy weekend.

@Sunny1984 Yay Congratulations!!! So pleased for you another positive for the thread!!!

@Elaydee I am sure your mind is playing dirty tricks on you, I have everything crossed that your embryo has placed itself exactly where he or she is supposed to be!!! Oh how the waiting game plays on the mind...........!!!! We could really do with a embryo cam so we can see what they are after ;)

@A280 I agree with @Elaydee plenty of time!!!

@aandre26 one more sleep.... exciting!

I had my baseline scan yesterday all fine, I start injecting Menopur tomorrow evening and start Fyremadel from Saturday morning.
First scan on Monday morning and 2nd on Wednesday see where we go go from there.
So excited to finally be starting this journey with you all xxx

aandre26 · 28/08/2018 12:47

@PostiveThinkingRainbow i remember how excited we were for my period to come and start treatment. Good luck with scans and everything!!

@Elaydee i hope its just your mind playing tricks on you! Speak with your clinic and just see what they say!! Really thinking of you!! Xxx

@A280 hold out. You dont want to give yourself false readings and then disappoint yourself. Thank you for the luck. Will update everyone tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Springb0ks · 28/08/2018 16:58

@aandre26, good luck for tomorrow!
@elaydee, I know nothing will stop you worrying but I wish you all the very best.
As for me, had my BFP confirmed today at the clinic! I'm not quite sure how to feel! It's all a bit surreal.

Sunny1984 · 28/08/2018 23:10

Amazing news @Springb0ks. Did the clinic do bloods? I called today and I’m booked for a scan on the 21st September. Seems ages away but it’s with my favourite DR so I don’t mind so much!

@A280 at 8 days early I wouldn’t think anything of a negative yet, but it’s good to know the trigger is out of your system.

@aandre26 hope the day has gone quickly for you. I don’t mind you asking at all, I had 2 embabies put back one was a grade 1 the other 1/2 the embryologist said they were both top grade for day 2. Sending lots of love and luck for the morning 💕💕

Not pregnant.....💔

IVF July/August 2018
Sunny1984 · 29/08/2018 09:01

@aandre26 I’m so sorry 💔. Did you do a non digital as well? My clinic was adamant not to use a digital to test with as they aren’t as sensitive.

A280 · 29/08/2018 09:11

@aandre26 i am so sorry my love x x

aandre26 · 29/08/2018 09:18

@Sunny1984 Yea We did two test, one wasnt digital and one was this one.
I knew deep down it hadnt worked. Id prepared for the negative result just doesnt sting any less!! Xxx
Going to ask for a transfer to a diff clinic for our second cycle. ( when i figure out who to speak to about that)

@A280 thank you!! Xxx

Springb0ks · 29/08/2018 09:52

Ah @aandre I am so sorry. I've said before on here but life is so bloody unfair. Look after yourself.

Elaydee · 29/08/2018 10:09

@aandre26 I'm so sorry. As people used to say to me, you are now one step closer to your goal, and you will get there. Sending you hugs x

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 29/08/2018 10:35

@aandre26 So sorry to hear your news, its so bloody unfair and there are simply no words!
Take the time you need and do not give up hope you will get there, we all know how you are feeling right now.
I hope you stay with us on here, at the end of the day this forum is to give and receive support from those who know how you are feeling best.

Why do do you feel you want to change clinics? xxxxxxx

35counting · 29/08/2018 10:49

I feel your pain and am here for you @aandre26, I’ve been keeping a quiet eye on you all and, whilst I am so happy for all of you with positive results, it is so hard for those of us that haven’t had such good luck and I get a pang of jealously every time!

I’ve been struggling a lot since our ivf failure and we haven’t even had a follow up appointment yet. I’m also angry that they didn’t do ICSI (when that is always what we’d been told we’d need) as that may well have given us some embryos. I just feel like we’re in limbo again now.

If you want a shoulder to cry on @aandre26 i’d happily be that shoulder. We can be bitter together!

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 29/08/2018 11:05

@35counting so pleased you have come back to the group to support @aandre26 shows what a lovely person you are and what us ladies that have been affected by infertility are really made of!!!!

We have all been through so much to get to this point, positive or negative results we can all help each other like I said to @aandre26 at the end of the day this forum is to give and receive support from those who know how you are feeling best.

We need to celebrate the big fat positive test results as they give us hope that those who have been through what we have, have got the result we all want so much and that their strength to carry on was worth it!

We also all know the feeling of the big fat negative too well and there is no amount of jealously, bitterness, frustration and darn right irrationality that we have not felt at some point, so we can share those feelings and how best to cope with them!!!
