Hey, all! We are starting ICSI hopefully in June for MFI. I'm 32. Been TTC for around 14 months. Starting treatment privately as we wait for NHS investigations/referrals. Keen to get started but nervous - especially about getting the time off work during treatment - and about how much all of this is going to cost. Trying to prime my body for fertility treatment. Generally eat pretty well and exercise regularly (cardio, strength train, Pilates, walk a lot on my commute)- but could improve my diet. Consultant advised me to increase my protein intake so I'm working on it! Luckily the weather is looking up so a bit easier to stick to healthy lifestyle :) Have cut out alcohol and coffee (still on tea - but will limit myself to one cup/ day). Supplements wise, I'm on Omega 3, CoQ10, Pregnacare. Doubt any of this will make any difference in time for first cycle though...

Would be great to hear from others due to have treatment in June/July 2018!

Hello and welcome to those who have just joined. Thanks for the tips, some really helpful diet information - something I haven’t really given much thought to but I guess I need to be a bit more mindful about my nutrition during stimulation.

There is just so much information out there and much of it is contradicting, it’s overwhelming.

Hope your scan went well @windmill xx

Sorry to hear about your OHSS @Windy, I am pretty worried about that outcome. :( I am starting my down reg on the 6th June. I am nervous about the drugs as they will have me on the highest dose. My AMH (8.6) and FSH (9.0) have drastically changed from 35-36yr, they were so good a year ago. AND They said there was NO CLIFF after 35. ha. So I am now going to be on the highest stims. I guess they monitor you every day and will reduce my meds if it looks llike OHSS is lurking? I hope so!

moleeye · 25/05/2018 16:17

@HJ82 I'm on the highest stims as well. Low egg reserve 😔. Going back for another scan next tues so hopefully everything is moving in the right direction and they can reduce some of the meds. It's not the most fun I've had! X

HJ82 · 25/05/2018 16:22

@moleeye - What have your symptoms been? I know we are all very different. I get ovary pain when one follicle is expanding each month! I'm hoping I don't feel awful x

HJ82 · 25/05/2018 16:24

@moleeye I wonder what do they really deem low egg reserve to warrant highest stims. I'm not in the 2.5 AMH category or 10+FSH. My reserve is still ok - not great, but also not super low. I guess i'll just take what they've prescribed and hope for the best.

Oh god yes, the wind!!!!! If it's not one end it's the other! I'm like a teenage boy

I've struggled a bit today. I even phoned the clinic to check whether my symptoms are in the 'normal' range. Apparently they are. Some women are just more sensitive to the hormones... Brilliant.

moleeye · 25/05/2018 17:19

@HJ82 my symptoms have been; heartburn (this is constant and the worst of it for me) constipation, wind and hot flushes. I haven't had any bloating or headaches for which I am thankful.

Day four of stims so I'm hoping that they start to tail off soon...

moleeye · 25/05/2018 17:22

My FSH is 8.2. I'm not sure either, we've chosen (what I hope is!) a really good clinic so I'm also listening to their advice and judgement. They have a great success rate and I'm pleased with the service so far.

They are suggesting putting two eggs back if all goes well in the next couple weeks...this terrifies me a little I'll admit!

moleeye · 25/05/2018 17:23

@IvoryCloud sorry to hear you're having a pants day. It's really tough going isn't it x

Windmill1828 · 25/05/2018 18:04

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear you're all starting to get symptoms - I've had my scan today, only had 3 injections so far and am on a low dose so, as expected there wasn't much to be seen - still quite small. On the way back in the car I started to have a bit of a stabbing pain low right side although it was short lived and today I've just been so hot! I had to buy a dress and get changed while I was out!!!!
I'm back again for another scan bank holiday Monday so hopefully we will see some bigger ones!
She said it was better to go slow and maybe a bit longer than get ohss which could be possible!
Xx

IvoryCloud · 25/05/2018 18:46

@moleeye Thanks. I've had a nap since I last posted and am currently reclining upstairs whilst my DH is cooking mushrooms filled with feta and poached eggs. Injections also done. Feeling bit brighter.

IvoryCloud · 25/05/2018 19:33

Hi @Windmill, sounds like your scan went well and your clinic are looking after you. x

Windmill1828 · 25/05/2018 19:40

I hope they are! I opted for a London one which is three hours in the car but that's where other half works a lot of the time so it made some sort of sense! It's just a massive day for a 20 min scan! Hmm
I did manage to buy myself a new dress though so every cloud...

Right injection time!! 🔥 it's so nice to chat with other ladies that are going through exactly the same thing at roughly the same time! Grin

IvoryCloud · 25/05/2018 20:18

It is, isn't it? Precious few people know what I'm going through atm in RL, and none who have been through it themselves. It's great to discuss stuff here. Thanks everyone!

Windmill1828 · 25/05/2018 20:55

@IvoryCloud I know! And it's such a lot to take in! So much info on google, do this and do that! Confused

Where is everyone from? Xx

IvoryCloud · 25/05/2018 21:03

I'm in South Wales x

moleeye · 25/05/2018 21:36

London here Smile

Windmill1828 · 25/05/2018 22:17

I'm near Lincoln. Feeling like I've mmmm either really full or the start of indigestion this evening.

Where's everyone up to so I can recap. Confused

I'm day 4 bemfola injection. Starting slow so no idea what day EC is going to be!
On the short protocol.
Drinking coconut water and that's about all I'm doing differently Xx

Windmill1828 · 25/05/2018 22:19

Oh and no wine!
@moleeye @IvoryCloud

physicskate · 25/05/2018 22:26

I'm from near Leeds...

Still waiting for ov (currently cd22). Starting short protocol next cd2 (or closest date possible).

In the meantime, waiting for thyroid to get sorted. So buying time with a long cycle is a-ok!

moleeye · 25/05/2018 22:35

@Windmill1828 @IvoryCloud
The heartburn has well and truly kicked in I'm going to buy a keg of Gaviscon tomorrow!!

I'm desperate for a G&T 🙈

Windmill1828 · 25/05/2018 22:36

@physicskate
It's horrible waiting isn't it?
But then it goes so quickly when it starts!

moleeye · 25/05/2018 22:39

I've had 2 weeks of suprecur so far and I'mon day 4 of ovaleap which is gonal F.

I'm on long protocol. EC due about 5th

Two scans next week so hopefully all is progressing as should be.

Good luck to you all lovely ladies. There is a lot to take in. I'm not really telling many people IRL as I don't want to have the conversation if it isn't successful. We are self funded and can only afford one round xx

IvoryCloud · 25/05/2018 22:47

Why coconut water, @Windmill?
