Hey, all! We are starting ICSI hopefully in June for MFI. I'm 32. Been TTC for around 14 months. Starting treatment privately as we wait for NHS investigations/referrals. Keen to get started but nervous - especially about getting the time off work during treatment - and about how much all of this is going to cost. Trying to prime my body for fertility treatment. Generally eat pretty well and exercise regularly (cardio, strength train, Pilates, walk a lot on my commute)- but could improve my diet. Consultant advised me to increase my protein intake so I'm working on it! Luckily the weather is looking up so a bit easier to stick to healthy lifestyle :) Have cut out alcohol and coffee (still on tea - but will limit myself to one cup/ day). Supplements wise, I'm on Omega 3, CoQ10, Pregnacare. Doubt any of this will make any difference in time for first cycle though...

Would be great to hear from others due to have treatment in June/July 2018!

Good luck @ginandtonic31 and@lateinthemorning. Was just wondering, what does the hot water bottle do? Does it encourage the follicles to grow? I feel I don't know all the hints and tricks for this at all...!

@LopeyLopez yeah, hot water bottle is supposed to help the follicles grow, and a high protein diet while stimming. No clue if it’s actuslly works, but willing to try at this point 🤣 x

Ec likely to be Friday for me. Follicles need a little more growth. My Lining is thinner tho! Need to get back in the Pom juice x

AFM, my left ovary has got the message and there’s around 6 growing well at about 15. Only thing is my left ovary is apparently quite high and a bit more difficult to reach (what the bloody hell is wrong with my reproductive organs!). My right ovary is being stubborn and there’s around 5 under 10. So they said not as well of a response as hoped but okay. Slightly disappointed I won’t get many eggs but as the saying goes, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth! Gotbto phone at 2 to see what my oestrogen levels are and whem I’m back again.

So today I’m wearing jeggings and they are really digging in. I’ve got this fear that they are going to press into and ruin my ovary. 😂

@Ginandtonic31 - glad to hear that things are moving along for you now 😊 will you have a few more days of stims before EC?

@Beherenow32 - good news for Friday! Try some fertility yoga to increase your lining this week xxx

@CritterTamer yes carrying on for a bit so hoping the right one jolts into action soon! I’m wondering whether it’s bad to do a few injections in the same side? I usually alternate but wondering whether to do my next two before my next scan in the right?

@Beherebow32 but guess what my worry is now! A) that they can’t reach my left ovary b) that they grew too fast 😂oh I don’t let myself rest do I!!

Yes it does get obvious at work doesn’t it. I was 2 hours later last week twice and 30 mins today. I just say I’m having blood tests and investigations then when I’m off I’m going to get my manager to say I’m have a day surgery investigation

Good news about your follies @beherenow and @ginandtonic31, I’m sure the next 4 days worth of growth will do wonders.

@crittertamer - Did you get an update about your embies? I got a call this morning to say the 3 are growing well and so they want to now do 5 day transfer. Such a relief as the past couple of days was the worst weekend ever - I had such little hope. I guess it’s not over until it’s over!!

Hope the EC went well today @notlateinthemorning. Did you find your dressing gown in the end? Get lots of rest and eat well x

And now I have mild OHSS and have to take blood thinning injections for at least two weeks... They may or may not cancel my transfer, in which case it's a freeze all (if any). Joy.

@Dia12 - my clinic don’t contact again after the fertilisation result unless there is a problem so no update but no news is good news 😊 I know all 6 won’t make it to 5 days but will be very happy if 2 are still doing well on Wednesday.

@Physicskate - sorry to hear that - I guess it was always a risk with so many follicles. Hope you ge better soon and FX that your transfer doesn’t get cancelled 🤞

My oestrogen has gone from 5 to 2297 in a weekend. That’s seems far to fast back on Wednesday for a scan. Potentially the last one maybe!!

@physicskate oh no that’s not good. Poor you. I am starting to see why they kept me low much to my dismay! Although there’s no way I will be getting 18 eggs!

@ginandtonic31 pleased today's scan was a bit better news. I was disappointed with my scan on Sat as I've only 9 all meausuring around 11 but it's not something that I have power to change so I'm trying to put it out of my head until my next scan tomorrow morning, perhaps you and I are just slow burners and she did say I had a beautiful text book lining so it's not all bad.
Sorry about your mild OHSS @physicskate but hopefully you'll have plenty of good embies in your large haul

@physicskate - Ditto to the earlier comments; everything crossed that the ET isn’t cancelled but at least you have some good embies to be used later.

Yep I’ll be doing ET along with you on Wednesday @crittertamer. Sending good vibes to all of your little embies too!
No news is def good news until then! Eeeek I’m so nervous.

I’ve just had my acupuncture appointment and was told to bed rest as much as possible, well, according to Chinese medicine that is.
Next acupuncture appointment will be after the transfer. I think I’ll try to use a hot water bottle as much as I can until then. Not sure if there is much else to do.

2pm! How about you? This is supposed to be a much quicker procedure isn’t it. In and out I expect.

Mine is at 1.30. About 15 mins they told me, no drugs or anything though so you can leave straight after this one.

@TheArtfulScammer well I thought I was slow but the left ovary has grown at a massive speed which concerns me and now not sure the right one will catch up! Don’t want to lose the good ones on the left. But at 14/15 I guess they’ve still got space to grow too so still time for them all to get a spurt on I hope!! My scan is Wednesday now. So I guess I could potentially end up with a Friday egg collection. Maybe.

Feeling a bit upset tonight. I expect it's hormones. Did my first blood thinning injection. Used ice before. Hope it doesn't bruise too bad...
