Hey, all! We are starting ICSI hopefully in June for MFI. I'm 32. Been TTC for around 14 months. Starting treatment privately as we wait for NHS investigations/referrals. Keen to get started but nervous - especially about getting the time off work during treatment - and about how much all of this is going to cost. Trying to prime my body for fertility treatment. Generally eat pretty well and exercise regularly (cardio, strength train, Pilates, walk a lot on my commute)- but could improve my diet. Consultant advised me to increase my protein intake so I'm working on it! Luckily the weather is looking up so a bit easier to stick to healthy lifestyle :) Have cut out alcohol and coffee (still on tea - but will limit myself to one cup/ day). Supplements wise, I'm on Omega 3, CoQ10, Pregnacare. Doubt any of this will make any difference in time for first cycle though...

Would be great to hear from others due to have treatment in June/July 2018!

Beherenow32 · 01/06/2018 07:14

Injection done!
Hope today is a good day for everyone x

Windmill1828 · 01/06/2018 07:42

@Beherenow32 oooh it's all getting exciting for you now 😃😃😃

moleeye · 01/06/2018 08:54

Scan done, they are SO efficient! 😂

So everything is looking good, been booked in for another scan on Monday as a few are a bit smaller and so they want to give them a few more days. Have 11 follicles Smile

EC will be Weds

Feeling a bit more real now....

Good luck @IvoryCloud and @Windmill1828 Xx

Yay @Beherenow32 Smile

Windmill1828 · 01/06/2018 09:28

@moleeye eeeeek!!! 11 - that's amazing!!!!! And possibly more?
Wednesday! 😃😃😃I think mine might be too! Just been for a blood test and now on to the clinic! Xx

Dia12 · 01/06/2018 10:16

Looks like things are getting going for everyone in the group. Have everything crossed for us all xx

Wow @windmill1828, you really do have all the big life events happening at once!! It’s an exciting time and despite the inevitable stress that accompanies you have all the best bits to come. Good luck with scan today!
LOL @ dildocam!!

Yay @ 11 follicles @moleeye - that’s brilliant news. Hope you can relax, look after yourself and eat well over the weekend.

Looks like your week off is well timed @beherenow, hope you are able to dedicate some time to yourself and managing ok. Being outdoors, just going a long walk, especially in this warmer weather always helps me.

Good luck @ivory - hope your follies are big and healthy! Xx

Windmill1828 · 01/06/2018 14:37

Bad news for me. I only have two that are big enough to collect. The others, although growing are still too small. The nurse said that in hindsight, we should have been on a bigger dose but then with no history she didn't want me to ohss. 😞 they've sent me off with 2 possible options depending on what my bloods say: 1) go for EC with the two, apparently I only need one. 2) hang on in there for the weekend and increase my stimm dose - the worry with that is that the smaller ones don't really do anything and we lose the bigger ones! 😢
Feeling devastated

Waiting on the call soon x

Windmill1828 · 01/06/2018 16:33

Update:
They are leaving me until Tuesday on my upped dose of stimms. So EC Tuesday and I'll be going in blind not knowing if the extra 3 days have helped! 🙈🙈🙈🙈

moleeye · 01/06/2018 16:38

Oh @Windmill1828 sending you hugs hun. It's so hard to know what to do for the best 💐

Hoping that they call you soon so you're not in limbo xxx

moleeye · 01/06/2018 16:40

@Windmill1828 our messages have just crossed!!

There may be a big jump with the upped dosage. I had a big spurt from Tuesday at my last scan and today.

All fingers and toes crossed for you xx

Windmill1828 · 01/06/2018 17:51

@moleeye I just need to think positive - it's all I have now! 😫

If anyone knows of any ways to fatten up my follies please shout!!!! I'll try anything now!

physicskate · 01/06/2018 18:43

@windmill1828 - lots of water??

I've got af cramps! So that means I'll probably start af soon so tomorrow will likely be cd1! Not sure what to do - meant to ring clinic cd1 but they won't be there weekends. They said start driving first thing Monday and phone them on the way?? Anyone needed to start their (short) protocol Monday without being able t notify clinic??

Getting scared now, but at least we're about to start! I kinda like that if both has and has not worked... either outcome is proper scary!

I asked dh how he would feel if it DID work and he said, 'well, we'd have to talk about whether or not to keep it.' I laughed until I was literally falling down...

CritterTamer · 01/06/2018 19:51

Hi Physicskate, yes I’m in the same boat think day 1 will be tomorrow and won’t be able to get hold of them til Monday. They said the baseline scan would need to be day 2or 3 tho so as long as we get in on Monday everything should be ok I think!

windy2909 · 01/06/2018 20:01

@windmill1828 - so sorry you didn’t get better news. You are right though....positivity is crucial. My cousin only got one egg....that one egg is now a 6 month old baby girl. Try to relax as much as possible over the next few days. Sending you all my best wishes!

@physicskate - great news af is coming soon! I was on long protocol and af arrived on a sat. Clinic told me just to call Monday if it came at weekend and when I did they told me to start injections Tuesday. Not sure if that’s any use to you though, as you are short protocol.

@moleeye - great news about scan and ec!

Hope everyone on stims and down reg are doing well and time is passing quickly.

I am absolutely sh£&@?!& myself for tomorrow. Terrified something goes wrong. I managed to find a fertility acupuncturist locally this week and went today for a de-stress....it was one of the most farcical moments of my life 😂

IvoryCloud · 02/06/2018 00:39

Hi everyone, just been catching up on all your comments. It certainly has been a big day for lots of us today! Grin at dildocam!

Fantastic scan result @moleeye, I'm really pleased for you. Good luck for Wednesday xx

Wishing you good luck for Tuesday too, @Windmill, and sending positive vibes your way. The extra few days may well make all the difference to your follies; remember it's quality, not quantity.

After my scan today I was told I had 6 decent sized follies after only having 3 decent sized ones on Tuesday! I had a double dose of GonalF for three days in between the two scans, so that's the difference it made! I don't remember all the sizes, but my largest follie was 20mm followed by a 17mm. I had to take one more double dose of the GonalF this evening, then half dose Saturday evening and then my trigger shot at 10pm on Saturday - my EC will be on Monday!!ShockShock

So a few days on a higher dosage CAN make a BIG difference @Windmill! Hang on in there xx

cannonball8726 · 02/06/2018 06:51

Hey ladies! Lots of activity on the thread.

Windy, is ET today? Best of luck if so!!Flowers

Moleeye, windmill and IvoryCloud, best of luck for your upcoming EC. Fingers crossed that your extra injections do the trick, windmill. Can't believe you're travelling down from Lincoln for treatment- you must be exhausted!

Beherenow, so sorry that things have been crap. Hope the week off is restful and things improve. Good luck with the injections.

Physicskate, glad your AF approaching! I'm feeling no different on thyroxine yet (It has only been a week though).

Crittertamer, glad to hear that AF approaching for you too sand that you can get cracking!

Think I'm super behind the rest of you guys. Still around 2-3 weeks until I start downreg!

Windmill1828 · 02/06/2018 09:04

@IvoryCloud thanks hun - this has made me feel better! I won't know now what they've done until EC on Tuesday! (At 8am!! 😳)

On the way back yesterday I was googling (obviously 😂) outcomes on forums of ladies who had only two and most of them were offered the opportunity to cancel! Obviously this is something that wasn't offered to me nor would I want it in a million years after coming this far.
Then DP said " listen, maybe we should cancel have some time off and if we want to try again in the future we could" 😳
Well you can imagine my response, after all the travelling, injections, worry, scans, hormones.. the last thing I'd want to do was give up on, albeit only two, but possible good follies!

We had a blazing row and still now, are not talking!
He's normally amazing at being in tune and understanding and I know he wants a baby more than anything but this hurt! A lot!
Then apparently it was my fault for taking it the wrong way and apparently I don't listen! 😫 this is the last thing I need right now - we usually never fall out!

Windmill1828 · 02/06/2018 09:08

@moleeye @cannonball8726 @physicskate thanks every one!
I still have hope! 😁

Beherenow32 · 02/06/2018 09:19

@Windmill1828 tension will be high. Hopefully you can both put this argument to the side, as it won’t help what you’re going through. Maybe he just thought that taking a break would help with your stress, not realising it would actually make you more stressed!! Hope you’re ok.

You’re so close now. And I really think you would regret not trying at least. No one knows how things will pan out! Xx

Windmill1828 · 02/06/2018 09:27

@Beherenow32 I know hun, and I know he probably only meant to say something he thought was for the best! Men hey?
Just sat here waiting for cetrotide to warm up drinking milk! 😂

How's everyone else today? Xx

CritterTamer · 02/06/2018 09:43

Anxiously waiting for AF to show lol! Normally only have a 10 day luteal phase and here I am on day 14 and nothing. The first time ever I’m impatient for the witch to show up and she doesn’t cooperate! Our bodies do the weirdest things sigh

Hope everyone else is doing ok and that you and your DH are making things up Windmill 😊

IvoryCloud · 02/06/2018 10:03

Sorry to hear about your argument with DP, @Windmill. Shock at his suggestion after all you (both) have bloody been through, but do you think it was well meaning? Just clumsily put?

I would be really bothered and upset by this comment too, but do you think he meant to be supportive and just got it very wrong and said something wide of that mark without really meaning to?

Flowers to you both. It's such a stressful time. I hope you can both get past the disagreement quickly today and give each other a hug - you need each other's support xx

IvoryCloud · 02/06/2018 10:05

@CritterTamer AF never shows up when you really want her to! Hang on in there!

Windmill1828 · 02/06/2018 10:14

@IvoryCloud I'm sure in some strange man way he meant well, he's determined he did mean well but I'm struggling to see how he possibly could've!? That's why I find it hard to understand his point of view.. to even bloody suggest it! Im now questioning if I'm the one who's over reacted? What would you do? Xx

Thanks ladies xx

Beherenow32 · 02/06/2018 10:20

@Windmill1828 you definitely didn’t over react. You’ve gone through so much, and you don’t want it to just be dismissed and count for nothing! I think he maybe have thought he was helping, but that doesn’t mean you needed to agree with it.

Honestly, me and my DH have different approaches on now to deal with it as well. He have a disagreement then just carry on. Not sure if it’s healthy approach, but that’s us! It’s hard on both. You’ll get through it xx

@CritterTamer my af is always, always late when I’m waiting to start a cycle of ivf! It’s crazy x
