Hey, all! We are starting ICSI hopefully in June for MFI. I'm 32. Been TTC for around 14 months. Starting treatment privately as we wait for NHS investigations/referrals. Keen to get started but nervous - especially about getting the time off work during treatment - and about how much all of this is going to cost. Trying to prime my body for fertility treatment. Generally eat pretty well and exercise regularly (cardio, strength train, Pilates, walk a lot on my commute)- but could improve my diet. Consultant advised me to increase my protein intake so I'm working on it! Luckily the weather is looking up so a bit easier to stick to healthy lifestyle :) Have cut out alcohol and coffee (still on tea - but will limit myself to one cup/ day). Supplements wise, I'm on Omega 3, CoQ10, Pregnacare. Doubt any of this will make any difference in time for first cycle though...

Would be great to hear from others due to have treatment in June/July 2018!

*sorry before egg collection, not ovulation!

CritterTamer · 28/05/2018 21:51

Hi all

Do you mind if join you? I'm currently in my preparatory cycle on Norethisterone - baseline scan due in a week or so and EC tentatively booked for week of June 18th if everything goes to plan. I'm loving seeing all the positive support going on in these threads and would be great to have some people to share this journey with!

moleeye · 29/05/2018 06:24

@Windmill1828 fingers crossed for Weds scan and you get a date soon! It's hard fitting everything around a child isn't it x
I've got a scan this morning and again on Friday. Hoping EC is early next week...watch this space!

@IvoryCloud are you ok? How are you feeling? X

@CritterTamer Welcome! Lots of us with close EC dates here. Hope you aren't feeling too rough whilst down regging x

windy2909 · 29/05/2018 07:41

@windmill1828 - good luck for your scan today. Hope it shows good progress 🤞.

@crittertamer - welcome! How are you finding the drugs so far?

Windmill1828 · 29/05/2018 08:31

@windy2909 oh yeah - I think that is the one 😂 that's my trigger. The others are in the fridge - getting the names mixed up! Anyway... this morning I have to mix this one and I can't remember how to do it! I'll have to YouTube it!
Weirdly, my Bemfola pen hasn't had the little line on it which you set to prime it three times now, so I've had to literally squeeze drops out before injection to try to make sure there's no air. Totally messed this up the other day - forgot I had set it to the dose and tried one last time to get the air out and then 💦💦 squirted half the dose all over the place! 😳😭
So wish me luck today mixing this one!!! 😂

Windmill1828 · 29/05/2018 08:32

@moleeye thanks! It's getting real now! Eeek 😬 starting to feel a bit heavier down there now, are you? Xx

Windmill1828 · 29/05/2018 11:51

Ok, so just done 1st Cetrotide injection and OMG what a nightmare mixing it! All was ok but I had so many air bubbles!!! Managed to get all but two tiny ones out I think so just went for it! And the needle seemed so much bigger?
Anyway, all done and im still here so... 😂
I've got another scan tomorrow morning. I can't remember if she said not to do Cetrotide before scan or if I've just made this up! Soooo many changes to amounts etc I've totally forgotten!
Does anyone know if there would be a reason she might've said not to do it before scan?
I could always take it with me in my little cool bag! Just in case?

moleeye · 29/05/2018 11:55

@Windmill1828 a little. Although scan showed everything is progressing as should be albeit a little small 7 follicles on one side and 6 on the other. They reckon there should be growth spurt in the next couple of days.
Back for another scan on Friday so hopefully get a date then for EC x

Windmill1828 · 29/05/2018 12:00

Oooh @moleeye we are in the same boat them. These little follies need to get a bit bigger over the next few days!!!
Are you on a low dose? Xx

moleeye · 29/05/2018 12:20

@Windmill1828 nope, am on the highest dose of Ovaleap poss! I feel like this process is taking a long time now, when in reality we only decided in April and started in May.
How impatient am I?! X

Beherenow32 · 29/05/2018 14:33

@Windmill1828 the hospital always asked me not to do stimming injections until after scan. I think it’s incase you are overstimulated, and can’t take anymore of the drug. Does that sounds like it might be the way with you?

Just 2 more days and I’ll be joining you all with injections! 😊😊

Windmill1828 · 29/05/2018 15:45

@moleeye bless you! I hope those little ones get a bit bigger over the next few days! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Since my first bigger dose last night I've started to feel a bit heavier down below. I'm hoping this is a good sign and I'll see some improvements tomorrow. Apparently there was one big one that was off the chart that was doing its own thing!

Windmill1828 · 29/05/2018 15:47

@Beherenow32 no it's the Cetrotide, the one that stops you ovulating.
I've emailed the clinic and they called me back asking what I was on about 😂 I'm just to carry on as usual - I've no idea where I've got that idea from!! Anyway it's sorted now! 😂🤯🙈

TheArtfulScreamer · 29/05/2018 15:51

Hi all just checking in, good to hear most are doing ok with the various drugs, injections and side effects apart from a few hiccups or iffy side effects. I'm still down regging and I've a pre stim scan on Mon. I started my AF today and it's odd to think that my next one could either be my most devastating yet as it'll mean failure or fingers crossed it could not be until next year and this could technically be my first week of pregnancy given how they normally date pregnancy, funny the things you think about isn't it Hmm.
To all those starting soon good luck.

LoveYouTilTheEnd · 29/05/2018 16:03

Oo, artful I like that thinking. I’d love for almost a year off the dreadful AF! Grin

Hope all the medications are worth it for you ladies in the middle. I’m just impatiently waiting to get started!

Beherenow32 · 29/05/2018 16:32

@Windmill1828 ah right. Obviously I’ve no clue then 😂😂 glad you got it sorted! It’s always best to ask. I’m on medication (nose spray), which j completely forgot to tell the Hospital, and I still keep forgetting to phone them about it!

@TheArtfulScreamer your imagination can go into over drive! Hope stimming is working well by the time your scan comes.

Sorry for not mentioning everyone. I’m rubbish at keeping track. But thinking of you all.

@IvoryCloud hope you’re ok, with the lack of sleep 😔 x

natz26 · 29/05/2018 19:11

Hi All,

Hope you've all had a great day. I've just done my 2nd Buserelin injection and apart from a stinging sensation afterwards its not been too bad.

Whats everyone's thoughts on exercise at this stage?? I've been used to doing a mixture of bootcamp and liftng 5 x a week for the last 4 years. I'm still planning to continue to do the same but no where near at the same intensity.

Natz

Mesh0603 · 29/05/2018 19:43

Hi, mind if I get in on this conversation? I'm three weeks into my first DEDS cycle, enjoying the night sweats on buserlin, and feeling nervous / completely out of my depth with all this.

It really helps to read all the other posts and to know you're not totally alone. IRL I've only told my family that I'm doing this, and two work friends (who are practically my work-wives!), so it's a secret that's occupying my every thought.

I'm due to go to Cyprus for a fresh transfer in the middle of June.... o m f g...

Mesh0603 · 29/05/2018 19:47

@IvoryCloud your strike through comments had me ROFL.... keep them coming!

moleeye · 29/05/2018 19:57

@Windmill1828 @Windmill1828 @IvoryCloud are you having the embryo glue? X

moleeye · 29/05/2018 19:58

And @windy2909! X

LoveYouTilTheEnd · 29/05/2018 20:21

natz I was wondering the same thing. I run and play netball 5-6 times a week and didn’t want to stop if I was feeling ok? Obviously not during the TWW, although even then I’ll be taking my dog for long walks instead as I don’t want to suddenly stop. Are you still feeling ok on the medication then?

Hi Mesh sorry to be thick, what is DEDS? Good luck with Cyprus! You’re definitely not alone Smile

CritterTamer · 29/05/2018 20:27

Thanks for the welcome 😊 This is my first round of IVF so totally new to it and a bit overwhelmed - everyone here seems so knowledgeable! It seems so confusing as everyone seems to be on different drugs to me - is that just a clinic specific thing or???

Good luck to all you ladies having scans and trigger shots at the moment - I still have a couple of weeks before I get to that part but reading all of your posts is making me so excited/terrified!

natz26 · 29/05/2018 20:39

@LoveYouTilTheEnd I think its best to listen to ur body if it hurts stop. As i understand it i have to be careful once i start with menopur injections but am still thinking of continuing with lifting and increasing my walking. Bootcamp might have to take a back seat as it high intensity.

No effects from the medication as yet but it really early days

IvoryCloud · 30/05/2018 00:15

Hi @Beherenow, @moleeye and everyone! I had a better night's sleep on Sunday but worst one ever on Monday - didn't get off to sleep until after 4:30 Shock. I'm struggling through and today was hard going, but the experience will stand me in good stead for being kept awake by a newborn!

@moleeye are you feeling positive with your scan result? Sounds promising. Was thinking of you today, knowing our days align! I don't know about having embryo glue... it hasn't been mentioned yet. Not sure.
