Looking at potential IVF options and to stay with our current fertility clinic, we’re looking in the region of about £6k for IVF including medication. I have come across ABC in London a few times and I’ve also seen women on ttc/infertility fb groups talking about having their IVF done there.

I understand it’s known as “shoebox” IVF which is why it only costs £2500 including meds, scans etc. Which is amazing to be honest when you don’t have thousands and thousands to spare like we don’t. I was just wondering if anyone on here was considering going, is currently or has been through IVF with them and if they’re worth it? I feel like it may be a “too good to be true” situation but if it’s not, it would really be a step in the right direction for us money-wise

Hi our year, I had egg collection on Thursday 10 collected 3 not mature 7 were ICSI and had the call yesterday to say 5 fertilised so waiting for a call tomorrow to let me know how they are getting on.... how did you get on ?

Ouryear19 · 02/03/2019 15:11

Hi PBR123, I had eight eggs collected. All eight were injected by ICSI, 5 fertilised. So we are going ahead with day 5 blastocyst. We will get another call next week to find out how they coming along. I'm just glad we can do afresh transfer this time.

PBR123 · 02/03/2019 15:22

Ohhh so we are the same with the 5 little embies... are you worried about leaving it till a 5 day? They told me the same on the phone yesterday and obviously I have been googling like a mad woman and now thinking what if they don’t make it to day 5 🙈

TryingForMyRainbow · 06/03/2019 15:42

Hi
Can I join in?
I decided to go with ABC as well! I am only 23 so it is my first time. I start my injections next week! I am on a low dose of Bemfola (125) as they don’t want to risk OHSS? What medication were you all on and what was the doses?
I nervous but excited! Please keep updating how ur journey goes - good luck xxxx

PBR123 · 08/03/2019 11:14

Hi our I was probably on the same medication that you were and all was look ok 5 fertilised and on day 2 x 8 cell grade 1, 2 x 6 cell grade 2 and 1 x 8 cell grade 3 unfortunately they called on morning of transfer and none made it to blast. Was so upset have meeting Wednesday to see what happened..... best of luck to you though

TryingForMyRainbow · 08/03/2019 12:16

Oh no I am so sorry to hear that. At my treatment consultation I was told that if they feel they won’t make it to blasts they can do a 3 day transfer. Was that ever a option given to you??
I hope you get the answers you need and have success soon! 🤞🏻
How did u find the egg collection? It is something I am anxious about especially being at their other clinic I heard not so good reviews about.

TryingForMyRainbow · 08/03/2019 12:24

@Ouryear19
How are things getting along for you??

PBR123 · 08/03/2019 13:41

I actually asked on day 3 about if they would do a 3 day transfer seeing as I had 2 good grade 1 embryos and they said no they expect them to go through to day 5 which has Better success rates. Wish now I’d said no I want the day 3.....egg collection was actually fine I had a bit of a cry just before it happened cause I was so nervous and anxious but everyone there is really nice and then poof I was awake again and it was all done. So don’t worry about that x

Ouryear19 · 08/03/2019 14:26

I had eight eggs collected, 5 fertilsed. They transferred one day 5 'very early blastocyst', the other four were disccarded so nothing left to freeze. Fingers crossed.

Egg Collection is fine because your are asleep straight away. I was less groggy this time when I woke up. Had some cramping for two days afterwards.

PBR123 · 08/03/2019 15:10

Good luck ouryear19

TryingForMyRainbow · 08/03/2019 16:26

Good luck our year 🤞🏻🤞🏻What medication were you on
Keep us posted! Xx

Ouryear19 · 08/03/2019 18:42

PBR123 I somehow missed your earlier messege. I'm really sorry that you didn't have a blastocyst in the end. I can understand how disappointing g at is xxx

Ouryear19 · 08/03/2019 20:44

@Tryingformyrainbow I 'm was also on Bemfola injections 125, then Cetrotide injections (stop egg release). I found the bemfola injections fine. Cetrotide injections leave a slight a sting

TryingForMyRainbow · 09/03/2019 11:50

Okay thanks for letting me know. Good luck. Hope and pray you get your BFP! Do you plan to test yourself?

SolAlii · 10/03/2019 08:50

Hi,m everyone.

I’m new to this page. I need help...
I’ve just left a FT teaching role after having difficulties taking time off from work for ivf app.

Anyone now excited to do another or 5th cycle of ivf in April.

I was looking at abc fertility. Please let me know any success stories....

TryingForMyRainbow · 10/03/2019 10:09

Hi @SolAlii

I am with ABC due to start my injections in about two days! So no success story yet but hopefully will be one! It is my first cycle

2011cw · 16/03/2019 18:30

Does anyone know if ABC/CREATE have bmi restrictions? Thanks Smile

Ouryear19 · 16/03/2019 18:45

Hi there, BMI needs to be under 30

jojobean84 · 16/03/2019 19:12

Hi there
We we're successful on the second cycle with abc ivf.
I gave birth to identical twin boys on 13th Feb.
I had turned 35 two days before I gave birth.
Used ICSI on the second attempt.
So shocked to find out the embryo had split.
But my twin boys are a double blessing.
Really impressed with the clinic.
Cheap and also transparent

SolAlii · 16/03/2019 20:44

Hi @jojobean84

So happy for you. Congratulations.

Twins, that’s amazing.

How was the treatment with van? Was fresh or frozen cycle?

jojobean84 · 17/03/2019 07:10

It was a fresh cycle.
My first cycle didn't work as after egg collection nothing fertilised. It was really tough as the consultant could not explain why, however my body took a while to respond to the stimulating drugs.
Second time round they increased the stims and I had a much better response. Also we used ICSI.
Icsi avoided the sperm being rejected by my egg.
The consultant did say that my body may have an auto immune response to my husband's sperm.

One thing I didn't know was that icsi can cause identical twins, as the needle they use to inject the sperm can damage the egg making it easier to split.
It was a massive shock at our 7 week scan, as we were the first ABC ivf twins.

jojobean84 · 17/03/2019 07:14

I fit the criteria
I was 33 when I started my treatment
My BMI was 28
My AMH was 17.5 (I think)
Husband had a normal range sperm count.

As for the shoe box thing, they said they will use the best method.

I don't know how strict they are with the criteria.
I saw a few women in the waiting room.
Most looked average build, but I don't think they were all under 35.

Create offer ivf to all. I saw an older lady, maybe 50 in the waiting room at create.

Hope that helps
