Looking at potential IVF options and to stay with our current fertility clinic, we’re looking in the region of about £6k for IVF including medication. I have come across ABC in London a few times and I’ve also seen women on ttc/infertility fb groups talking about having their IVF done there.

I understand it’s known as “shoebox” IVF which is why it only costs £2500 including meds, scans etc. Which is amazing to be honest when you don’t have thousands and thousands to spare like we don’t. I was just wondering if anyone on here was considering going, is currently or has been through IVF with them and if they’re worth it? I feel like it may be a “too good to be true” situation but if it’s not, it would really be a step in the right direction for us money-wise

Yes I had my transfer this morning :-) my husband wasn't allowed in with me because of covid but they let me put him on video chat so he could be a part of it. So amazing watching it on the screen. We've got a test date of September 7th, we've been told to do a urine test at home on that date cos they're not doing the blood tests at the moment. Part of me prefers it that way so me and my husband will find out the results in private. I feel like the next 10 days will be the longest of my life haha.

Kelbell86 · 28/08/2020 19:39

@Hopeful1990 how did your transfer go?

@misty20 I normally do PT sessions but I stopped them for stims and just did lots of gentle walking instead. In regards to a glass of wine, I haven't drank since Xmas 😭 that's just my choice though, I've heard lots of ladies say they had the odd glass here there and it didn't harm them. I think the biggest thing is to try and keep as stress free as you can 😊

@Ro198 hope you feel better soon!

Hopeful1990 · 29/08/2020 09:15

@Kelbell86 the transfer went well, my test date is 7th September. I feel inpatient haha. I've had what feel like period cramps ever since the transfer, I don't know if that's normal or not? How are you doing? X

Kelbell86 · 29/08/2020 12:53

@Hopeful1990 ahhhh I'm so excited for you 🤞🏻👏🏻☘️🍍 I can imagine it's the longest wait everrrr, I'm yet to get to your stage! In my ivf journey book it has lots of fertility wordsearches/puzzles etc, I thought that's actually a great idea for occupying the forever ticking mind, Maybe worth a go? Have you any plans for the 2ww?

Are you on the Facebook group ivf support UK? I find it really helpful for some tips. Anyway even though I can't say, I know lots of the ladies on there who have had transfer say about cramping and lots of others reassure them and say its normal 😊

I'm still patiently waiting for my AF. The clinic told me to stop taking my inofolic and folate which I've always taken to regulate my cycles (it's all natural stuff) and ever since it isn't right. I've started it again, I just figure surely using a natural supplement to help it along is better than forcing it with norethisterone medication anyway? 🤷🏼‍♀️ In the book, it starts with the egg and zita west they recommend it for egg maturity esp in people with pcos. I know this will level out my hormone and help it show it so I'm just doing it as the nurse said she hasn't heard of it yet lots of specialists recommend it and I know it helps me, what's the worst that can happen 😂 xx

Hopeful1990 · 29/08/2020 19:11

@Kelbell86 oh I didn't even know there were books made for fertility journeys! That's really cool. I have a mindfulness book which has loads of exercises in it to help with anxiety so that's helpful. And I like doing yoga and have found some on you tube that are geared for women doing ivf which is cool.

I don't actually use social media anymore. I deactivated my Facebook account a few months ago cos I was finding it a bit too hard seeing lots pregnancy announcements and Facebook was constantly advertising fertility stuff to me and it was stressing me out but thank you for the suggestion anyways though :)

How frustrating to be waiting for your period. Its funny isn't it that before treatment you wish everything month not to get your period but when you're waiting to start your meds you can't wait for mother nature to arrive haha! My period was late when I was waiting to start my fet cycle and it was so annoying haha. Will this be your first treatment cycle? Xxx

Kelbell86 · 29/08/2020 20:17

@Hopeful1990 I totally get the coming off social media for a bit... The cookies do mean lots of fertility ads which isn't nice! Well if you ever have a burning question that can't be answered in here I'm always happy to ask the question for you, hopefully you won't have any though because you will get your BFP soon 😊🤞🏻

Yeah I bought a little book from a lady on etsy, it helps me track my meds and you can put lots of stuff in about you and your partner and I thought it would make a nice keepsake afterwards ❤️

No, I started a month or so ago but they abandoned my cycle two weeks of stims in as they hadn't given me a high enough dose so I'm okay with the meds but haven't gotten anywhere near your stage yet 😊 oh I'll have a look at the yoga thing as that sounds good, any particular person you follow and recommend?
Yup no better way to learn patience than ivf is there 🕛🕞🕗🌘🌝😂 xx

misty20 · 29/08/2020 23:11

@Hopeful1990 the 2ww is the longest 😩 keeping all crossed for you 🤞

@Kelbell86 ahh I don't know if I should carry on or not with my zoom excercise class. My cousin does it for 5 of us cousins and I don't want to say why I can't do anymore. It's a good class, I enjoy it and it helped me loose the extra weight I needed to for me to fit the criteria for Abc but probably baly best not with it being quite a hard class.

Also do you have a link for that book please as I saw them ages ago, said to myself I'll get it nearer the time and completely forgot. Be nice to get one that's recommended 😊

Kelbell86 · 30/08/2020 02:07

@misty20 I've read it starts with the egg by Rebecca fett, it's really informative but it's a heavy read I felt! I came out the other end wondering if there's anything I can continue to do or what not 😂 I only took some things from it and haven't gone to the extremes!
I also read 'Get a life' his and hers guide to ivf... I really enjoyed that one and so did the hubby. It has his and her sections so my husband just read the his sections but I read both as I found it really amusing! Xx

misty20 · 30/08/2020 07:40

@Kelbell86 ah sorry I meant the journal 🙈 but I have heard of that it starts with a egg. I didnt want to read that as felt like if it's going to work it will and Reading the book may put more stress on me thinking it should work if thst makes sense lol. The other one sounds good though if it's assuming x

Kelbell86 · 30/08/2020 16:21

@misty20 oops sorry I didn't realise! Hopefully I have done this properly...

misty20 · 31/08/2020 11:32

That's OK @Kelbell86
Thank you!
I've started my Period today 🎉 usually hate to see it but happy lol. Emailed Abc early this morning but no reply and can't get through on the phone. Will keep trying though and get my scanned book hopefully

Kelbell86 · 31/08/2020 12:04

@misty20 yay! That's great news! Please keep us updated 😊 xx

Hopeful1990 · 01/09/2020 07:30

Has anyone tested early in their 2ww? I'm getting really strong pregnancy symptoms and it's killing me not knowing lol. We've been told to test at home on the 7th but I already have really sore boobs, and now some sickness too, and needing to wee a lot more often. It's killing me not knowing and I'm feeling inpatient haha. Xx

Ro198 · 01/09/2020 07:54

@Hopeful1990 I tested after 5 days post transfer using a frer, then daily until 10 days post to check the line was progressing

Hopeful1990 · 01/09/2020 08:14

@Ro198 when you were testing did you do it first thing in the morning?

Ro198 · 01/09/2020 08:33

@hopeful1990 Yes at 7am every day. I tested at 2 or 3 days post as well to check it was negative and the trigger shot was out of my system

Hopeful1990 · 01/09/2020 08:40

@Ro198 thanks for the reply. I had a frozen transfer so no trigger shot to worry about in this case. I'll be 6 days after the transfer tomorrow so I might try testing in the morning. X

Ro198 · 01/09/2020 08:54

@Hopeful1990 good luck!!

misty20 · 01/09/2020 10:34

@Kelbell86 Scan booked for friday! start bemfola tonight :)
any start signs for you yet?

@Hopeful1990 with my first I did a pregnancy test 2days before the date they told me to and I got a positive and it was evening too! so maybe by Saturday you could test?

Hopeful1990 · 01/09/2020 15:44

@misty20 yeah I've told my husband try not to freak if it's negative cos it might just be too early. I've bought the tests today so just gonna wait a little longer. Everyone around me is having babies so it's gonna be horrible if it's negative. My sister in law not long had a baby, my sister is pregnant and my best friend literally just text me to say she's in labour right now. Trying to keep up the brave happy face but it's really hard. X

misty20 · 01/09/2020 19:17

@Hopeful1990
Ahh hopefully you will be joining them all soon! Just try keep busy and distracted as much as possible.

@BrownHoney how are you? Did you have your zoom appointment? X

AGGA1 · 01/09/2020 21:13

Hi everybody. Please help.
I have been reading your comments and am on the same boat as you. Having sleepless nights about the whole thing. I cannot decide between ABC Wimbledon and the one in Harley Street.

  1. which one would you recommend?
  2. has anyone here had any issues with blocked fallopian tube and has had successful IVF?
  3. do you recommend IVF + ICSI or just IVF? Many thanksSmile
Ro198 · 02/09/2020 09:04

@AGGA1 I wouldn’t recommend Harley street as I find them disorganised, but I have no experience of Wimbledon. It did work for me but in hindsight I would have gone to a different clinic.
If your partner does an analysis they will let you know whether you need ICSI or can just go with ivf

AGGA1 · 02/09/2020 09:33

Congratulations ! Hope you and your baby are doing well ! I would like to asked you what abc clinic did you go(area) ? Thank you !

AGGA1 · 02/09/2020 09:41

Hi there ! Could I please ask you what clinic in london did you choose? How was your experience with ABC ! I want to be sure before I select the clinic. I wish you all the best !
