Looking at potential IVF options and to stay with our current fertility clinic, we’re looking in the region of about £6k for IVF including medication. I have come across ABC in London a few times and I’ve also seen women on ttc/infertility fb groups talking about having their IVF done there.

I understand it’s known as “shoebox” IVF which is why it only costs £2500 including meds, scans etc. Which is amazing to be honest when you don’t have thousands and thousands to spare like we don’t. I was just wondering if anyone on here was considering going, is currently or has been through IVF with them and if they’re worth it? I feel like it may be a “too good to be true” situation but if it’s not, it would really be a step in the right direction for us money-wise

Really worried woke up this morning the a small amount of blood only when I wiped the once I'm 5 weeks and 4 days I've got no pain or anything but I'm really really scared I've been back to the toilet loads of times and still no more blood.

Courts1609 · 13/08/2019 17:43

@Sarahloub1 so sorry you’ve had a fright Sarah. Bleeding in pregnancy is never nice. Please don’t worry just yet, I had bleeding in my first pregnancy for 6 days around this time and she is a very healthy 4 year old. I have also had bleeding which resulted in a miscarriage but that was a massive bleed. Not all blood means the worst. Keep and eye but if your concerned contact your EPU.

Wishing you all the very best

Courts1609 · 15/08/2019 20:46

@SolAlii hi, There is nothing in their criteria about being regular so I don’t see why not. Good luck!

Courts1609 · 15/08/2019 20:46

@Sarahloub1 how are you getting on? Wishing you all the very best xx

Sarahloub1 · 15/08/2019 21:12

@Courts1609

Hi yeah touch wood nothing since that small amount on Tuesday morning no aches pains nothing still been sick around 10 ish boobs are still killing I'm ready to chop them off,

Fingers crossed our little star 🌟 is still there I've been really naughty and booked a private 6 weeks scan on Saturday I'll be 6 weeks and 1 day so not sure if they will be able to see or hear anything just might put my mind at ease until the 27th when we go back to abc,

How are you getting on xx

Courts1609 · 16/08/2019 05:47

@Sarahloub1 that’s good news! I hope your scan goes well. I had s scan at 6 weeks and saw a little flickering heartbeat so fingers crossed you will to.

My start was delayed by a week! I started taking pregnare care and it really lengthened my cycle so today is day 2 and I’ll take my first jab tonight x

Sarahloub1 · 16/08/2019 06:44

@Courts1609

Hi,

We are looking at ABC due to my endometriosis and OH's negative sperm sample after vasectomy reversal, I have sat and read all 13 pages of this thread. Delighted for all of you with positive outcomes and wishing lots of luck to those of you still on your journey. My question is do you know whether they will accept us with negative sperm sample? My OH has children from previous relationship so hoping the sperm are there they just arent coming out. Other clinic have told us they would do the retrieval first and judge from there but i can't see that ABC offer this as a service. Can anyone advise? Also is the initial consultation included in the price? Trying to run figures to be organised.

Thanks,
Ez x

Ouryear19 · 16/08/2019 18:59

@Sarahloub1 omg! Congratulations on your positive news. I'm so happy for you!!!

I'm just catching up on the tread here. That's great you got it on your first round of IVF. It took us three goes (2 with Abc).

It seemed like a lifetime waitng for the 7 week scan with Abc. But then you get to see and hear a heartbeat in just 7 weeks.

P.s all pessaries prescriptions (and all prescriptions & dental care) are free on the NHS when you're pregnant as you get a 'maternity exemption cert'. I didn't realise and paid for pessaries xxx

Sarahloub1 · 16/08/2019 19:24

@Ouryear19

Haha I know still hasn't sunk in yet, well I panicked with the little bit of bleeding ( about size of a 10p no pains no clots nothing) but I'm still really nervous and worried I had on Tuesday so I've booked a private scan not sure you'll see much but the 27th(scan with abc) is too long away I need a bit of reassurance.
No way I was send out a private prescription for pessarie's and paid £63 for them.

I'm still really confused on how far I am they add time on
we had retrieval on 19th
Transfer on 22nd 3 day transfer but it's saying I'm 6weeks today
Xx

Ouryear19 · 16/08/2019 19:38

I had my Abc scan 4 week weeks after my test date and was told in was 7 weeks and a day then. It almost like they 'add' three weeks.

flo.health/tools/ivf-due-date-calculator
This also tells you your due date. You can select day 3 or day 5 transfer
Xxx

Sarahloub1 · 16/08/2019 21:03

@Ouryear19

It must be right I've just done it on that website and it's saying I'm 6 weeks today xx

Sarahloub1 · 16/08/2019 21:05

@Ouryear19

Yeah we had our transfer on 22nd July and we go for our first abc scan on Tuesday 27th August

Xx

Courts1609 · 17/08/2019 09:15

@erin2nicole welcome! I don’t know the answer to your question but their call centre is really helpful so I would recommend giving them a call to ask. It may be something that Create their sister company can help with.

Wishing you both all the best x

Elonga · 18/08/2019 12:40

Hi Lovelies,
Can someone please tell what's ABC acceptable BMI or weight?
And how many times did guys have to travel there? Well the all process. From start to transfer please.
Thanks

erin2nicole · 19/08/2019 12:13

@Courts1609 Thank you for taking the time to reply :) I think I will do, OH would rather we wait til after his next sperm sample so we know for sure if we need to but I would rather have all the knowledge of every option possible lol. Trying to give my impatience something to do I think! xx

@Elonga I don't know about the process but I am pretty sure BMI has to be 30 or under xx

Courts1609 · 19/08/2019 13:55

Had my first scan this morning and I have 25 follicles on my left ovary (can’t remember the number on the right but it was less) that seems to be a lot! We’ve talked about the risk of OHSS. I will have my second scan on Wednesday and bloods. Has anyone had any experience of a high number of follicles without having to ‘freeze all’ and FET three months later?

All the best x

Courts1609 · 27/08/2019 13:28

@Sarahloub1 I hope your scan goes well x

Thought I would update the thread on my experience. I had my egg collection yesterday. 28 collected which means if any get to blastocyst stage I will have to freeze all to prevent OHSS. Told this morning that 11 fertilised which is lower fertilisation rate then they would like with the number collected but apparently not unusual when so many eggs are collected.

I hope everyone is doing well x

erin2nicole · 27/08/2019 14:41

@Courts1609 best of luck with it - are you using ABC? Sorry if you have already said! Hope you are feeling ok with it all. Do you know how long it will take to find out for you? xx

Courts1609 · 27/08/2019 14:53

@erin2nicole

Hi, yes this is my first round of IVF and using ABC. Feeling rather bloated but generally okay. Egg collection was cycle day 12 so it’s felt pretty quick but time is going to slow down when we have to freeze them for a month or two (fingers crossed there are blastocysts to freeze!) we’ll find out Thursday how they are looking at day 3 and then they’ll be frozen day 5 if they make it that far.

Have you started your IVF journey?

Best wishes x

TryingForMyRainbow · 27/08/2019 14:57

@courts1609 good luck! X

@sarahloub1 how did your scan go?? X

Sarahloub1 · 27/08/2019 15:11

@TryingForMyRainbow
@Courts1609

Hiya

We are on our way back for our scan everything went really well saw our little baby measuring at 7 weeks and 3 days 3 days more than I had heart beat was really strong it was sad in a way our journey with abc has finished everyone came in to have a look and listen haha which was really nice nothing was ever too much for them and reality just hit rang my gp for our first appointment and can't get in till 20th September which means I'll be over 10 weeks.

Hope everyone is doing really well xx

Courts1609 · 27/08/2019 15:13

@Sarahloub1 that is such wonderful news! Huge congratulations x

erin2nicole · 27/08/2019 15:15

@Courts1609 Best of luck! Have everything crossed for you and hope it continues to go quickly.

No we haven't yet. My OH had a negative sperm sample after his vasectomy reversal and I have endometriosis so we have to wait for his next sperm analysis at end of Sept then if no go we will have to have a SSR then hopefully ICSI -- so it's all about saving money right now! xx

Ojoy1986 · 02/09/2019 17:23

Hi All, it’s so great to read all the positive stories. We are battling secondary (unexplained) infertility and have our initial appointment with abc next week. I have one last round of and i’m Just wondering if I should give it a go? Does anyone know if you can do an ivf cycle straight after a clomid cycle or whether I’d have to wait another month to start. Very keen to get going with ivf after 2 years ttc.
