Hello ladies,

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for the past 3 years, I am 28 years old. We are undergoing our first fresh round of IVF with ICSI. I started Suprecur injections last month and Menopur injections a couple nights ago and my egg retrieval if all goes well is in a couple weeks. I was just wondering if there is someone at the same stage as me?

I have heard that success is rates for FETs are much higher, at my clinic there is a 60% chance of success so I will have everything crossed for you.

My Operation is set for Friday, follicles are growing and although there’s not as many as I would have liked, there’s 2 good ones, 4 that are catching up and 4 tiny ones. Fingers crossed 🤞 have to give my two big injections tonight at 9.30pm 💉😝 one of them is 22mm which is my lucky number lol xxx

Hey Becky,

It’s all happening for you now! Keeping everything crossed for good results for you on Friday! Let me know how you get on. Good luck xxx

That’s great Becky. Well done! How are you feeling now? X

becky114 · 17/03/2018 05:45

Absolutely awful now pain meds have wore off, excruciating trapped wind, nausea and sore boobs. Did you have this? Xxx

windy2909 · 17/03/2018 07:52

That’s a shame! No I started to feel some pain in my ovary area again after pain meds wore off but no nausea or wind. My clinic did say to phone them if after effects were particularly bad so you should give them a call. Hope you feel better soon. Plenty of rest and keep yourself topped up with paracetamol or cocodomol if you can. Will you be getting a call today with update on your eggs? X

becky114 · 17/03/2018 08:37

Yes telephone call today, I hope they don't leave me waiting to long. It feels strange how my egg and my husbands sperm are being fertilised, I feel a little protective like that could be my baby one day xxx

I know exactly what you mean. Here’s hoping you hear soon. My call was early morning. 🤞🤞🤞 keep me posted please x

becky114 · 17/03/2018 10:43

@windy2909 All 6 have fertilised!!!!!! They call tomorrow with an update and will tell me more about grading. Would have been devastated if none of them fertilised and it was game over! Xxx

That’s amazing news! You must be so relieved! Keeping my fingers crossed that they all continue to develop. Have you been given a date for transfer yet? X

becky114 · 17/03/2018 14:43

Not yet there going to ring me again tomorrow xxx

Sooo, all 6 eggs have divided into 4 cells. They have made it to the 4 cell development stage. Embryologist says there are 4 eggs in particular that look very good! They have decided to go for day 5 transfer which I’m chuffed about, just hoping and praying they make it to blastocyst stage. They won’t know if any are suitable for freezing until Wednesday so keep your fingers crossed for me. More waiting lol. Xxxx

Can I also say I really appreciate having someone to talk to about all of this. It's hard to talk about with people that haven't been through it because naturally they have so many questions and sometimes I can't answer them and panic. Also do you find it difficult when people are overly positive saying that it will definitely work. I can't help but take every stage with caution in order to protect myself.

Any signs of your period hun? Xxx

Hi Becky, that is such great news! It’s all looking really positive 😃! You’re right though, it’s not good to build up hopes too much because you just never know what’s going to happen and you need to prepare yourself for heartbreak just in case. I think people are well meaning but many just don’t understand what it’s like.

I have tried to avoid it all by only telling the people who need to know, close family and a few close friends. I am also very vague with even those people (apart from my mum) and just don’t go into too much detail, which seems to have prevented the questions and also the pressure.

I have been really happy to hear your news and hope it continues to be good news! Period came yesterday, so start of next one, I can get the ball rolling again. Hubby and I have never been so eager to get a period come!

I look forward to hearing how those embryos are doing 🤞🤞🤞🤞 as always x

becky114 · 18/03/2018 18:28

Yay your period came! So it won't be two months hopefully just under one. So how does FET Work? How's it different to IVF? Xxx

A bit longer than that unfortunately. I’ve been told that next af prob won’t come for about 6 weeks as I had a prostap injection to down reg. From what I’ve been told, it will be a natural fet as I have regular cycles. I’ll phone them first day of next af and then they’ll time it for when I’m ovulating naturally to transfer embryo back. Just one injection, ovitrelle, which I think they give to me around transfer and then I imagine I’ll be on the cyclogest that I didn’t have to use after collection because nothing was going back in.

How are you feeling? Hope you’re better than the you were after collection? X

becky114 · 19/03/2018 11:15

I have everything crossed for you @windy2909. I'm feeling much better, still a little tender and really constipated lol. Just had call from embryologist, sadly one has stopped growing, the other 5 are and there's 2 that still look good, she used words like 8 cell, 16 cell and morula - will google it. I don't get a call tomorrow so will have to wait until Wednesday now 😬 xxx

windy2909 · 19/03/2018 19:41

Hey Becky,

Sorry you’ve lost one but that’s very common from what I’ve heard. Still 5 going strong and I hope google gave you good answers because that’s all double Dutch to me too! Hang on in there. You are getting close! The very best of luck for Wednesday. I’m hoping to hear good news from you xxx

becky114 · 21/03/2018 13:37

We were lucky enough to transfer an amazing grade 5 embryo which had already started hatching!!! We have one suitable for freezing and there may be two suitable for freezing by the end of the day!!!! So this means we get another or ideally a sibling in the future!!! Xxx

OP posts:
windy2909 · 21/03/2018 17:53

Wow! That is so exciting! Just another wait now so to see how things go! Do you get a blood test in 12 days time? X

becky114 · 21/03/2018 18:16

I do next Friday, I hope with all my heart that it implants xxx

windy2909 · 21/03/2018 20:27

I know. This is the moment in time that you just wish you could press the fast forward button. This whole ttc requires an awful lot of patience. I’m hopeful for you as always x

becky114 · 25/03/2018 21:18

@windy2909 hi Hun, just checking in, how are you doing? Xxx

Hey Becky, I’m good thanks....just waiting 😩! Not long till test day for you now!! Hope you’re keeping well? X

becky114 · 29/03/2018 08:26

Hey Hun I tested yesterday and got a second line indicative of a positive test result. I didn't say anything because it was faint and thought it could still be the trigger. I did another test day and the line had got even fainter and is now barely visible so I don't know what to think or how to feel. I'm just terrified that by tomorrow all my hope my be over. What do you think? The ones that are fainter are today's xxx
