IVF September/October 2017

Hi Ladies! Finally I will have my first IVF treatment as soon as my next cycle starts which I expect it to be more or less end of September/beginning of October. My periods are very irregular so I never know exactly. My consultant suggested antagonist protocol which I will receive in post soon. I am extremely excited but then realistic about the fact that it might not be successful first time.

How are you feeling ladies? When are you due to start your Ivf Journey? Fingers crossed for all of us fighters;-)

dinksandbinks · 30/09/2017 09:43

Thank you ladies!! I had a calming pill and feeling less like running out the door is an option. I should be 10am but I think they're running behind.

Did you ladies give your partners anything to amuse themselves for their sample?? I sent him a pic of my boobs for good luck... think I'm a weirdo!!

Scotslass01 · 30/09/2017 09:48

You'll be fine chica. Fingers crossed for lots of lovely eggs.

Hahaha love it. I didn't even think to do anything like that. I was to preoccupied with what was going on with me.
X

Scotslass01 · 30/09/2017 10:22

Hospital called. 5 of the 6 eggs they retrieved were mature eggs. 3 of the 5 eggs have fertilised. So good news. We just need to hope those 3 keep progressing. All good so far. Do you think 3 is a good number?? X

Sunshine300 · 30/09/2017 11:14

Sorry if iforget someone, there has been a lot of activity the last 2 days!

scots - that's brilliant news! 3 of your mature eggs fertilising is great. Really pleased for you!!! Hope the pain is settling down now. Just try and take it easy got a few days if you can.

hanim - I am over the moon for you. That is just fantastic news.

dinks hope everything went ok this morning and you're already recovering. It's not easy so don't be too hard on yourself for being scared.

3 more days for me to wait. Can't decide if I want it to go quick so I know or go slow so that I can cling onto the hope for a bit longer.
Trying to relax and enjoy the weekend with friends. Enjoying some sunshine while watching my OH play hockey.

Hanim79 · 30/09/2017 13:02

Thank you so much everyone x the fact I’m still bleeding is worrying me I can’t seem to settle, my mind is thinking all sorts. X

ElizabethCatherine · 30/09/2017 13:09

@dinksandbinks I’m on short cycle I guess - they never told me lol! I had been missing my period for an entire year due to PCOS and then was finally put on metformin which brough on a bleed 7 weeks later.. so counted 14 days from that bleed, then started norethisterone for 2 weeks and now injecting for 6 so far. Next scan on Monday morning! I am taking gonal f 225 this morning was upped from 150 the first 5 days combined with ostadril for the last 2 days so far - mind the spelling in the drugs names I don’t have them in front of me.

Congrats @Hanim79 that’s such wonderful news! It’s nice to join in on a thread with a bfp.

I’ve finally had the chance to read through the entire thread, so much going on! Can’t wait to catch up and follow along on all your journeys! X

dinksandbinks · 30/09/2017 13:12

I survived! I had a panic attack while I was there, and the most lovely anaesthetist gave me extra drugs. So I slept through the entire process. The last thing I remember is giggling as I couldn't get my feet into the stirrups. Next, I could hear OH talking no a nurse. And I woke up.

Cup of tea, sandwich and I'm on my way home.

Almost embarrassing number of eggs. 23. They were expecting 11 max but my polycystic ovary was hiding a lot. They may be shady quality though. We'll know tomorrow.

Thank you all lovely ladies for the support! Sorry for being a drama llama. Heading to McDonald's for a milkshake!

ElizabethCatherine · 30/09/2017 13:24

@dinksandbinks nice to hear it went well! I am hoping for extra drugs too so I don’t have to remember it! That’s great news they managed to get more! Wow I have 42 follicles I wonder how many could be hiding in my PCOS too... I hope they don’t clean my egg supply out completely I would like to try natural one day if I can LOL. I need a milkshake. Well done. Can’t wait for the update tomorrow on your eggies

Scotslass01 · 30/09/2017 13:30

Dinks - Awww hunny. You've had a rough day. So glad your through it and feeling ok.
Wow that's a lot of eggs. Fingers 🤞 they are good quality.

Elizabeth - all the best with your scan

*hanim congratulations xx luk after ur self xxxxx

dinksandbinks · 30/09/2017 17:54

Ooh Elizabeth how do you mention people? That's a new trick!! And your cycle sounds really familiar to mine, I guess I had much fewer follicles as I only have one affected ovary? Doesn't prevent the hair and acne though grrrr.

Hanim how are you feeling now? Has it sunk in at all?

Scots three is brilliant!! You should be well chuffed!! How are you feeling today? I'm starting to feel the cramps :(

Sunshine What are you doing to distract yourself before you test?

Filip how exciting for you! I was totall fine with the injections, trial and error to work out the least painful angle : for me it's quite steep but not quite 90degrees to my belly, hardly felt a thing.

So the McDonald milkshake was a bad idea. Took one sip and within a minute I had to get OH to pull over while I barfed on the hard shoulder lol. Classy! Home for a long nap and since then I've been able to keep down some toast. Maybe attempt McDonald's again later... I want lasagne for tea but we have no oven (long story about cowboy builder running off with our money before finishing the extension...) so only option is microwave meal and it's just not the same!!

Anyway enough of the pity party :)

dinksandbinks · 30/09/2017 18:03

Minster I forgot your message! I'm convinced I'm still high on these drugs!! I am definitely glad to get them out as I feel less bloated already, but alas now the cramps are setting in. There's a wood festival near us tomorrow so I am really hoping I can get out to that... If you can walk 5 miles I can hopefully wander round a garden :)

ElizabethCatherine · 30/09/2017 18:52

Not doing well. I’ve called the hospital I’ve gotta go for a scan tomorrow morning. I was fine in the morning and then slowly through the afternoon started getting more and more crampy and feeling sick. Then it got worse and I projectile vomited SO much all over an expensive car in Chelsea. Well the wheel anyways. I was in and Uber and he had to make a halt. I am super bloated today very very achy in my ovaries and feel like I’m going to vomit again finally laying back in my bed but the pressure is not good. I am so worried I hope everything will be ok. Has anyone else experienced any of these symptoms? And if so to what extent?

ElizabethCatherine · 30/09/2017 18:54

And just now the diarrhea starts :( I just wanna be okaaaay :( I’m so worried right now

Scotslass01 · 30/09/2017 19:09

Dinks - I'm still really uncomfortable. Plus I'm totally constipated which is not helping. I hope you've managed something to eat.
I'm hoping I get a decent sleep tonight as was too sore last night and kept waking up.

Elizabeth- oh no! I didn't have anything like that. Sorry to hear you are so poorly.

Filip- welcome. I found the injection fine. I'd built them up to be worse that they actually were. You'll do great.

Minster - thank you chica. I'm really chuffed. Keeping everything crossed they keep progressing.

Sunshine- how you getting on. Nearly there!

Hugs all x

dinksandbinks · 30/09/2017 20:46

Elizabeth that sounds rotten I'm so sorry :( I know I shouldn't laugh but I'm almost glad it was over the wheel of an ultra expensive car... anyhoo. Sorry. I hope you're ok? Did the out of hours service say you can skip a night's medication perhaps? I did end up putting ice packs on my abdomen the night before my EC. I really hope the clinic can help you out tomorrow morning!! Flowers

Scots I had already started on the dulcoease about half way through Shock So I feel your pain. I managed a few slices of pizza but I feel so swollen and stuffy. Got the ice packs back which is helping, and also keeping the cats off lol.

dinksandbinks · 30/09/2017 20:48

P.s.Scots sending sleepy wishes to you

Sunshine300 · 30/09/2017 21:01

Elizabeth - sorry to hear you're so poorly.

Dinks/Scots - here's hoping a good night sleep for you both.

I'm starting to get mild cramps today which is a little disheartening. Hoping it's not my period arriving.

Scotslass01 · 30/09/2017 21:17

Dinks - Me and my hot water bottle are inseparable. I might need to think about something to help with the toilet.
Hope you get some relief soon.
My wee Hamish keep coming up for cuddles and cos I'm up and down every 10mins to pee I've got to keep moving him. X
