IVF September/October 2017

Hi Ladies! Finally I will have my first IVF treatment as soon as my next cycle starts which I expect it to be more or less end of September/beginning of October. My periods are very irregular so I never know exactly. My consultant suggested antagonist protocol which I will receive in post soon. I am extremely excited but then realistic about the fact that it might not be successful first time.

How are you feeling ladies? When are you due to start your Ivf Journey? Fingers crossed for all of us fighters;-)

dinksandbinks I think it’s next weekend. Last Sunday of the month, no?

Aliona19 · 20/10/2017 21:31

Minster2012 Sorry you feeling bad ☹️ It’s hard to get through all this ivf and waiting and constant stress and on top of that you having your own treatments. Must be exhausting. So you are very brave lady. There will be a massive reward next year 😊 you will be creating new group here “OMG help me how to deal with this little crying baby” 🙂

dinksandbinks · 20/10/2017 21:48

Yep Aliona you’re right about clocks!! I clearly just want an extra hour in bed ;)

dinksandbinks · 20/10/2017 21:48

Also... I hope we all do get to the crying baby stage!! I have so much hope for all of us xxx

Minster2012 · 20/10/2017 21:50

Ahhh Aliona that would be a lovely thought a baby group! Yeah every 3rd Friday is pretty shit, every one else goes "yay it's Friday, and every 3rd Friday I'm like urgh" but it's keeping me alive & putting me in this amazing position so I cannot grumble really I have to tell myself!

My OH has also interrupted me too, & whinged about watching next top model! I got more puppy pics too from the breeder so all good & now I can get excited about that. Just sooooo hope my friends lining responds to the tablets now.

Atikakck · 20/10/2017 22:03

Dinks - a using zovirax, is dis tablets wich u take r okay for invitro? A mean lyk to take them with all the medicine? A fink ma immune system is crap tbh...

Nd two or even 3 pair of socks won't help they dat frozen dat wen a try keep them warm den most of the time a end up with cold sweat ughhhhh... Lol

Scotslass01 · 21/10/2017 09:38

Minster I'm sorry to hear you are having a rubbish time. No one can/would blame for you feeling down. Ivf itself is a lot to contend with but add chemo on top of that wow. I think you are a remarkably strong person to be tackling both them at the same time. Don't be to tough on yourself hunny 😘

Dinks how are you feeling?
Have you got your scan date yet?

X

dinksandbinks · 21/10/2017 10:05

Morning ladies!!

Minster Haha I love next top model!! I was watching Victoria on catch up when OH got back and there was an almighty moan about how period dramas are all the same blah blah. Then he fell asleep and snored. How are you feeling today? Hope you’ve recovered from yesterday?

dinksandbinks · 21/10/2017 10:07

Argh pressed send too soon!

Atik I am fairly sure echinacea is safe to take during conception and pregnancy. I’m going to check with the pharmacists though. It helps a lot to prevent me getting coughs and colds, it really helps my immune system. Vitamin C and zinc are good too and they are in normal multi-vitamins.

dinksandbinks · 21/10/2017 10:11

Scots!!! How are you? I’m ok, still have OHSS :/ I have my scan on Friday... so soon!!! I’m not sure what they hope to see but I think the main thing is to check it’s not ectopic as I’m at high risk. When is yours? Hope you’re feeling ok? My boobs are definitely better but I’m not sure if that’s just because they’re used to being giant now!! Do you have symptoms yet? I can’t tell what is a pregnancy symptom and what is OHSS so tbh I have no idea. I get occasional waves of nausea but I think that’s mainly because my stomach is so squished by the bloating. Thinking of you!!

otters2017 · 21/10/2017 11:15

Morning. So we had our day 3 phone call this morning to say that all 5 embryos are growing nicely and as they can't make a choice now theyve recommended transfer on day 5 (mon)! I can't believe that we have 5 embies growing, was expecting 1 or 2 to drop out. Not quite sure what to do for the weekend now as provisionally planned to go to the clinic for transfer. The sun is shining. All is right with the world right now Smile

dinks good luck for your scan on Friday. Hope the OHSS improves soon.

minster you are amazingly strong and brave. It's really inspiring reading your story and I really really hope the FET goes to plan for your friend. How was your treatment on Friday? Hope you've recovered and have something nice planned for the weekend. When are you getting your puppy?

Aliona how are you getting on? Any special plans for birthday on Monday?

atik sorry you're feeling rubbish. How are you doing today?

Aliona19 · 21/10/2017 11:46

otters2017 Hey. No plans atm, I usually feel very moody on my bday for some reason, don’t like celebrating. But girls at work demanding to go out and I am sure my partner will come up with something. What I do know-is I am having a drink for all you pregnant and soon to be pregnant ladies 😂

I am feeling fine, looking at all you ladies getting your transfers. I don’t have a clue what’s happening in my case as hospital says “we will get in touch for you next step” and just left me hanging here..

Minster2012 · 21/10/2017 12:55

Afternoon ladies

otters that's absolutely fantastic, all 5 little embies doing great that's so good!! Yeah let them grow on and day 5 is fab, keep em growing!! What a result, you can have a fab weekend and all systems go for Monday!! My treatment was fine yesterday, my body is pretty used to it now so I tend to be ok as long as I take it steady on the way back and then chill out for the evening so it was bath, tv & bed for me! I have random bouts of sickness, the other week I was throwing up for a couple of hours from 10pm to midnight for seemingly no reason (I was like that for the first 6 months of treatment, about 6 times a week! But now only once in a while) but really it's nothing compared to "normal chemo", doesn't make your hair fall out, can still taste stuff/drink, so o have it very easy is my view. I love Victoria too dinks this weekend also not too strenuous, pottering, walking dog, housework & seeing family- puppy next Saturday so trying to ensure we're sorted for that (we're not really!).

Aliona I'm like you I can toast these ladies with a glass of wine so I do at the weekends! Will do that tonight thinking of you ladies! I hope you enjoy your night out & don't forget your time for transfers etc will come Smile

dinks a scan!!! OMG that's properly pregnant!! Hopefully you'll get a heartbratvis that right?? Have you told anyone yet?

Atikakck · 21/10/2017 13:31

Harry I've read that crampy is very normal and definitely not a bad thing, just go with itFlowers

Hardygirl78 · 21/10/2017 20:40

Minster and Aliona, enjoy that glass of wine! I'm on the non-alcoholic sparkling rose but it aint a patch on the real thing.

Otters, well done you, 5 is amazing.

Harry, it's really hard not to analyse every twinge isn't it? Cramping is supposed to be very normal, I'm nearly sure the info leaflet from our clinic said you could expect cramps and abdominal discomfort for up to 2 weeks after transfer. My main issue is very sore boobs, all thanks to the progesterone probably.

Aliona19 · 21/10/2017 21:00

Hardygirl78 as I was reading your post, my hair band split without me realising it and fell on my shoulder as I was laying in bed. Omg I thought it was a big fat black spider. I have never been that fast in my life and pretty sure suffered a mini heart attack 😂😅 I may need more than a glass of wine right now.

As for cramps, I am sure it’s suppose to be happening. But whatever it is-try to enjoy analysing the symptoms rather than stress out. Think it’s your little embryo trying to dig into you as good as possible to make sure he stays 😇

Hi Ladies I have just come across this informative link on the 2ww and early testing and thought that it would be good to share it with you.

community.babycentre.co.uk/post/a20770595/the_2ww_and_early_testing

I am during my 2ww, currently day 5 after ET, still a full week to go until I can test................

Aliona, I would have freaked, not a spider lover! I've been known to jump at tomato stalks which have missed the bin and loik very spider like sitting on the kitchen floor.

Filipinam, thanks for that, my OTD is Thursday week and feels like a lifetime away at the minute but seeing the process day by day has settled me to wait it out.

Minster2012 · 22/10/2017 10:21

Ooh thank you that's good to read, also interesting to see the difference between 3 and 5 day and what they do! I find it all so fascinating at this stage doubt I'll be saying that if it takes 2 or more times!

Filipinam · 22/10/2017 13:57

Hi Ladies, I am 5 days after my blastocyst transfer, I had it on Tuesday morning, and today I have noticed brownish watery discharge when wiping, is that a good sign????????

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 22/10/2017 14:43

Filip from everything I've read brown is not a problem, hopefully implantation bleed which would be good. Brown is always likely to be old blood so don't fret especially if only light or spotting, if goes pink then not ideal but you can still bleed and get viable pregnancies so try not to worry. Hugs

otters2017 · 22/10/2017 15:30

filip agree with what minster said. Brown is ok and hopefully it's implantation bleeding. Thanks for the link, it was very informative

aliona I'm not a fan of spiders either and would have totally freaked!

hardy and harry how are you doing?

atik are you feeling better ?

Trying not to think too much about tomorrow ! Really hope we have some lovely blastocysts 🤞

Aliona19 · 22/10/2017 16:19

otters2017 It will be fine! Everything crossed 🤞 about spiders-it’s the reaction I mneorroed about. How am suppose to have a kid if I am so easily stressed? See a child coughing and straight away panic attack-is he choking?!? 😩 not good
