Hi Ladies! Finally I will have my first IVF treatment as soon as my next cycle starts which I expect it to be more or less end of September/beginning of October. My periods are very irregular so I never know exactly. My consultant suggested antagonist protocol which I will receive in post soon. I am extremely excited but then realistic about the fact that it might not be successful first time.

How are you feeling ladies? When are you due to start your Ivf Journey? Fingers crossed for all of us fighters;-)

aliona haha I know what you mean. I'm such a worrier and very easily scared! I'm hoping maternal instincts will kick in and we will be ok!
Are you going to phone them tomorrow? It's terrible they've just left in limbo

dinksandbinks how r you feeling?!

Otters I don’t think it’s thats easy. I am not pregnant yet but already looking through mattresses with sensors to ensure baby is breathing. I will be a nightmare mum!!

Harry ❤️❤️ Loads of love. Think positive

Minster keep forgetting to ask you, what doggy you have? Is it big? Do u ever get this “smart opinions” on having a baby and a dog? Coz I get this a lot 😡

Hardygirl78 · 22/10/2017 17:35

Doing ok thanks, still quite twingy if I do too much and trying to keep the balance between keeping myself occupied and not wrecking myself. I have another couple of days of work which I'm really glad of now.

Minster2012 · 22/10/2017 20:28

Hello everyone!

I wanted to wait until this evening to reply properly... am I right in thinking then that we currently have harry, hardy and filip then in 2ww? There were 2 ppl testing on 1st weren't there, gosh with these fresh transfers things change quickly! And there's me, rose, atik & aliona hanging on just slowly mincing along!!

otters massive good luck for tomorrow, hopefully your embies have grown on nicely & you still have some good blasts to transfer & some to freeze too...I have a card waiting to send to my friend to make her laugh & ive taken a picture, hopefully it will make you smile too, I can post it for all ladies when they go to transfer to wish you luck....I thought it was apt...

dinks & scots you keep them babies nice & warm & snuggly & hang on in, you are our inspiration at this point despite however crap you are feeling we want that!!

Aliona I too loook at baby stuff, have bought baby stuff for my friends who are pregnant which may not make it too them if we get a good result but not big stuff, gifts. It's natural but don't go mad
Else what will you do for a year??!! Also on the dog front, we are getting a bigger dog, a pointer cross that's not as hyper as a pure pointer after much research (as it's to be a gundog mainly but has to be a bomb proof house dog too). We haven't had raised eyebrows over kids/dogs as no one knows we are pursuing kids & all my in laws have 3 dogs or more so with 1, 2 with puppy we are lagging behind! Current dog is the nicest dog throughout the family (currently sat with me on sofa) & my in laws say is the only dog they would trust my 1 yr old nephew alone with, he just looks at a child and goes "oh yeah, one of those & walks away!", (though we wouldn't leave them alone) we trained him around kids/babies for that scenario & will do the same with new dog & crate train so they can be put safely away in crates whilst babies are around & dogs can be happy in their own space away from prying fingers. As long as u are sensible it's no problem, tell them to mind their own business. Gundog training a young dog & having a toddler mind you would NOT be fun as both will be time consuming but DH is MEANT to be doing that stage of training! & I'll take it if it means we get a child Grin

Oh and goodluck in 2ww but tested early so pregnant too!

Aliona19 · 22/10/2017 20:46

Monster no seriously I am fed up of listening to this rubbish. I love my dog. She is not big fan of kids (I am sure most of dogs feel same), but she been with 1 year old and ok with him. Been hand fed by this one year old and he still got all his fingers 😁 so she is fine. But at the end of the day she is a dog and I am not stupid. Just sick of people saying things like “oh what if she snaps. Oh what about the bacteria” grrrrr

Minster2012 · 22/10/2017 20:56

Oh no, that's rubbish Aliona, I'm not surrounded by people like that thank goodness, I live in the middle of the countryside where it's much more usual to see kids with their hands stuck in animal's mouths & eating grass & mother's gossiping next to them not paying attention!! Thank goodness! Kids who grow up with dogs do well, though I always make sure that strangers' kids do not stroke my dog without asking because though he looks lovely & fluffy (like a teddy bear) they don't know if he could bite or not & kids should never stroke a dog without asking in case they do it to an aggressive dog or catch a dog off guard. I would always try & teach a child that to keep them safe though I know from my friends kids it's difficult.

There's bacteria on everything & children need to be exposed to bacteria!! Pah!!

Thank you Minister! I keep posting in the other thread and forgetting to update this one. So, yes, good news for us, so far anyway. Got a BFP last Weds when I was 5dp5dt. Testing on a daily basis and line nice and dark this morning. Our official test date with our clinic (CRCG) is 16 dp5dt so 28th October which is yonks away so there is not much to do before then. Still can't quite actually believe it but DH and I are delighted though still getting used to it. Hope everyone else is doing well. Good luck all (I chose my name well!) xx

Minster2012 · 22/10/2017 21:37

Congrats Flowers

Scotslass01 · 22/10/2017 22:17

Massive congrats goodluck that's amazing news. I'm absolutely delighted for you.
I got my bfp over a week ago and I still can't believe it. I am eagerly awaiting my scan on the 6th Nov, I think that will help set our minds at ease.
I don't feel like I can enjoy it yet. Terrified something will happen.
Roll on 12weeks xx

Aliona19 · 23/10/2017 11:09

Goodluckjonathan76 congrats ❤️

Aliona19 · 23/10/2017 11:10

Otters how r u? Did you get your little embryo on board?

otters2017 · 23/10/2017 16:57

Embryo transfer done! 1 lovely embryo on board. I can't believe we made it to this stage! We have 3 more growing but they were smaller and not as good as the lead one hence transferring one only today. We will find out tomorrow if any are suitable for freezing. I hope we made the right decision to just have one as we were given the option of 2 (i'm 39) but i think the doctor was leaning towards just one as it was clearly more developed than the others. So here we go in the 2WW!

How's everyone else?

Filipinam · 23/10/2017 17:11

awww that's great news Otters!!!2WW hahah what an unforgettable time! I have 4 full days to go until this Saturday when I will test!!! I am so tempted to check this Wednesday though!!!! Shall I????????????

Afternoon everyone!!

How are we all? I still have OHSS. I really don't recommend it. But reassuring myself that I have OHSS because I have a BFP. Scan on Friday... Eeeeeeek so nervous. Like you Scots I am terrified it will go wrong.

Goodluck congrats on your BFP!! Must be a strong start for a result to appear so soon, you must be chuffed to bits! Have you booked a scan?

Aliona When I had my ectopic my mum wanted me to get rid of my cats in case they gave be toxoplasmosis, which caused the ectopic! I think she was just panicking though, but I hear you on people saying things about keeping animals around babies. I did have a "friend" who once told another friend that her miscarriage must have been caused by the alcohol in her mouthwash...

Any more news from your clinic Aliona? Oh, and, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! 🎉🎂🎈

Minster a good friend of ours has gundogs, and they came in very useful when they had kids!! The dogs were a massive help around the house, and were particularly vigilant about the babies losing socks. They stopped a whole load of people on a narrow path once because a sock fell off lol. Have you plans to train yours to do the same? Or just fetch you gin, or the TV remote?!

Hope you're feeling a bit better about the delay today. And that your friend is doing OK!!

Atik how are you feeling? I hope you're feeling a bit better? I asked my pharmacist about echinacea and she said there is no evidence it is bad for IVF but no evidence that it is good. Now thinking I should have asked my clinic lol!! I am going to ask them when I go for my scan on Friday.

Harry I had a really busy period at work after my transfer, that passed the time!! So did doing some DIY around the house. I got lots of random twinges too. Less so now, hope that's not a bad sign.

Otter have you had your transfer?? Hope it went well!!

I am struggling to catch up with messages on other pages on my stupid phone screen so sorry if I have missed anyone!!

Xxx

Otter, that's great - the Dr's and embryologists know what's best for us. Welcome to analysing every twinge or niggle for the next 2 weeks!

otters2017 · 23/10/2017 17:54

Thanks everyone. I've been symptom spotting before the transfer so goodness knows how I'm going to get through this!! Had twinges and a bit of nausea post egg collection but I knew there was definitely nothing going on as the embies were in the lab! Hope we can keep each other sane! Smile

aliona happy birthday!! 🎉🎁🎈🎂

dinks hope the OHSS is improving

filip how many days post transfer will you be on wed? There's not much point checking before 7dp5dt. The advice is not to test early and I'm going to hold out if I can but I understand the need!!

Aliona19 · 23/10/2017 18:30

dinksandbinks thank you 😊 not the same as when u was 18. Work, walking dog. My birthday has load in common with typical Monday 😂 Hospital says nothing, I can’t be bothered calling them. When time comes-they will get in touch. But by the time I am getting my transfer you lot will be half way through pregnancy 😊 as for pets, I like how when something bad happens suddenly everyone is an expert on everything. Smart asses. Keep thinking positive, they do say thoughts can materialise ❤️

Thanks Otters. Fingers crossed for you. Waiting for good news soon 😘

Filipinam don’t test, pull all your will together and wait for test day. I spend fortune on tests and 100s of disappointments after not seeing what I wanted to see. Just wait xx
