MORNING
I am WFH today and finally have a chance to catch up! It seems like as soon as I get home from work I just have to sleep.
Right... what have I missed!!
Minster I can't believe the FET might be next week!!! That's come around so quickly. Is your friend feeling a bit better? Good luck for the scan today!!
PUPPIES!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my god I really want a puppy. Well, probably a dog rather than puppy as I have no idea how to bring up pups. But we have two cats and lots of chickens so I think the menagerie is full for now. (Also OH hates dogs.)
Filip yay for your ET!! That's an incredible number of blastocysts!! Are you freezing them all? Plans for a massive family hehe?! I had a 5 day transfer and still needed to wait 2 weeks. I didn't because I developed late onset OHSS and that kind of gave the game away lol. But I guess it depends on everyone's dose for the trigger shot?
Aliona How are you feeling? Are you still suffering with the OHSS? It sucks :( Honestly with the catheter I did not notice a thing. The normal smear test tool thingy is the worst part of the ET, and it's just like a normal smear test. It was over really quickly, though they showed OH everything on the scanner as it was being done and he was asking loads of questions so they were taking their time lol. Thankfully I was also "master of my bladder" (this thread is hilarious!! You ladies are the best) and going to pee after the transfer was sooo enjoyable lol.
I felt really down a few days after my EC; I think I had a bit of a shock about the number of blasts we got in the end, I was fed up of being a beach ball... It is really stressful so it's not surprising you feel a bit down :( I hope you're feeling better? Medicinal chocolate??
Atik Your clinic don't sound like they are very helpful! Is it NHS? Mine don't really discuss things but they gave us a load of booklets and websites to look at. At least we have this thread, and google!
Otters Hi! Probably too late but take some snacks - they'll want you to eat, drink and pee before you go home. And the sandwich I got was not the nicest. Thankfully I brought pretzels with me! Cup of tea was the best though. Also a book, as you may be waiting around, and I took a dressing gown and slippers as I am always freezing. GOOD LUCK!!!
Hardygirl Welcome!! How's it going? Great news about the fertilisation!!! I had two in the end as well, and my clinic literally decided an hour before my transfer which one they were going to use - they gave us a lot of info on the day about the embryos but the decision was theirs rather than ours. They're the experts so I let them choose :)
Harry Hi! Is your ET today? Or was it yesterday? Exciting!!
Scots How are you pet?? Hope the boobs get better!! How are you feeling about the BFP? I am getting lots of cramps, twinges etc. too... the nurse at my clinic said it's normal as your uterus is going through a lot of changes even though the embryo is still tiny. Have you booked a scan? Thinking of you and hope your boobs get better now you're off the pessaries!! I bet that is a blessing!!
Have I got everyone???? I'll go back and check in a minute.
As for me. Good grief OHSS is a total chore. I don't have it as bad as poor Elizabeth (If you're reading, hope you're ok!) as thankfully it is not in my lungs... yet. But I am gaining an extra 300ml of fluid every day, so getting more and more uncomfortable.
Work is so difficult as I'm not unwell as such, I am just really uncomfortable in an office chair, and I look like I'm 6 months already. My friend who is 8 months looks smaller than me!! Trying to wear floaty loose things but I work in a rather corporate office and I think I'm going to have to buy new clothes :(
Also have to watch my diet - limit carbs, no sugar, just water and as much protein as I can eat - awkward as I'm vegetarian. I have to have small, regular mini-meals which is annoying at work - dragging out some baked tofu in a meeting is getting me some funny looks!!
BFP-wise... it still hasn't quite sunk in. And I'm super paranoid. I kind of want to tell my parents, my mum at least, but OH doesn't want us to tell anyone for a few weeks. It pretty much means I'm going to have to be a hermit as it is really bloody obvious that something is going on with my belly. And I don't really have anyone to talk to... THANK HEAVENS FOR YOU GUYS!!!
Symptom wise, I can't tell what is a symptom of pregnancy and what is just the OHSS! Headache, unbelievably tired, slightly nauseous... Also I think I have thrush. Yay.
Anyhoo it's second-breakfast time here and I have rambled enough!!
Sorry if I've forgotten anyone, I'll check back and add soon :) xxx
