IVF September/October 2017

Hi Ladies! Finally I will have my first IVF treatment as soon as my next cycle starts which I expect it to be more or less end of September/beginning of October. My periods are very irregular so I never know exactly. My consultant suggested antagonist protocol which I will receive in post soon. I am extremely excited but then realistic about the fact that it might not be successful first time.

How are you feeling ladies? When are you due to start your Ivf Journey? Fingers crossed for all of us fighters;-)

Minster no not at all. If it wasn't for the 4 tests I've done I wouldn't believe it. My doctor took some blood today and I have an appointment on Wednesday for more bloods to check how the HGC is increasing. It's still so early on. I've been feeling a bit crampy which is unsettling but I've been told as long as there is no bleeding it's fine. My boobs are still agony and really sensitive. I stopped the progesterone pessaries on Saturday so hopefully the sore boobs are a symptom of pregnancy now rather than a side effect of the pessaries.

Minster2012 · 17/10/2017 07:15

Scots I hope the boobs ease off then and it will be much better without the pessaries because then maybe you can feel a bit more ‘normal’? You know, not taking meds’ for pregnancy! I really hope the HGC keeps going up everything crossed

otters2017 · 17/10/2017 07:39

scots congrats! My clinic info sheet says to continue progesterone until 12weeks. Is that where you're at? Sorry if I've missed this or being daft!

Trigger shot done yay. Timed for midnight but we were so tired so went to bed at 10 and had to set an alarm to wake up for it! Drug free day today and EC tomorrow! Can't believe it's finally happening!! Feeling bloated today - is this normal or just my imagination?

Hardygirl78 · 17/10/2017 07:43

I hope you don't mind me joining in at this late stage, I just wanted to say congratulations to the BFPs, it's amazing news and to say to Scotslass that feeling crampy is very normal in early pregnancy as your body is adapting and stretching so please don't worry too much. I've been lurking loads on here as it's been so helpful and comforting to hear about others in the same boat. As for me, I'm 39, have an 8 year old daughter and trying for baby no 2 for 4 1/2 years with no success. I've got pregnant twice but miscarried and haven't had even a sniff of a BFP in 3 years. We're approaching the end of our first IVF cycle now, had egg collection yesterday which was physically ok, I didn't find it too painful. I was a bit disappointed though that they only got 2 eggs, my AMH was about 8 a year ago so I knew I wouldn't get brilliant numbers but it has obviously dropped a bit more since then. The Dr also spotted some endometriosis on my ovary ehich woukd explain a lot too. Still, I'm trying to remember that you only need one good egg and keeping my fingers crossed that at least one of them fertilizes - we have to call at 10am to find out how they're doing.

otters2017 · 17/10/2017 08:18

hardygirl keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you. As you say you only need one. Do keep us updated

Minster2012 · 17/10/2017 10:09

Ooo so 2 transfers this week!

It's so weird, I've just had my deposit injection so no babies for me & my next one due in Jan by which time we'll know if I'm to be a mother! Really really bizarre!

Hopefully transfer to my best friend & surrogate next week, scan tomorrow to check!!

Minster2012 · 17/10/2017 10:09

Depo injection not deposit!! Stupid autocorrect

Hardygirl78 · 17/10/2017 10:18

Thank you everyone for the welcome, everyone is so lovely and supportive to each other.

Just off the phone and both eggs have fertilized and we're in for transfer on Thursday afternoon. I can't believe it, one step closer!

dinksandbinks · 17/10/2017 10:42

Ladies, I’m sorry I’ve still not written to you all!! I am so many pages behind now!! I can only access mumsnet on my phone at work (work blocks it for inappropriate content???!!!!) and it’s so annoying to try and type replies into a teeny wee box.

Last night I got home and went straight to bed I’m afraid, despite promising to catch up with everyone’s news! The OHSS is really grim. I’m in more pain than I was with my ruptured ectopic, can’t keep food in and don’t get a lot of sleep due to the pain. I’m back at the hospital on Thursday and I really hope they’ll offer to drain the fluid... sounds gross but I’ve got 2.5kg of it sloshing around!!

I promise to write tonight.

Hope everyone is ok. Thinking of you all!!!

Minster2012 · 17/10/2017 11:12

hardygirl that's awesome!! Really excellent news!! Are you going to transfer one or both? 3 transfers this week!!

dinks that sounds horrendous, I'm surprised you can still work, do ppl at work know? What do you do? Not eating, is that a silver lining or a bad thing?! Poor you, it really sounds horrible, I hope they drain it for you, make you more comfortable for sure. Sending hugs!!

Hardygirl78 · 17/10/2017 12:03

Minster, I don't know what to do, probably just take the advice of the clinic on Thursday.

Dinks, you poor thing it sounds awful. Hope you're on the mend soon.

Minster2012 · 17/10/2017 12:39

That's good to hear hardy my clinic were like "you need to decide well in advance" being a bit more chilled and being able to talk it through more and hear more of their thoughts would have been good! We were able to talk about it with them but felt they wanted to know months ago for transfer soon!!

otters2017 · 17/10/2017 13:34

Quick check in
hardy excellent news about the 2 fertilized! Whoop whoop! Good luck for transfer on thurs
harry good luck for your transfer too
Who else is having a transfer this week?
aliona I'm having egg collection tomorrow!
Busy week for us all!

Filipinam · 17/10/2017 13:50

Hi ladies I’m
New to this forum and am also about to start IVF but my immune results came back quite high so was told to have an HUmaira injection to balance my immune results ..however we have decided against taking the injection but I have already purchased this form a private clinic does anyone need the injection as I would like to sell it on

Appreciate any help x

Aliona19 · 17/10/2017 14:18

otters2017 Hope it will go smooth for u with great results x

Filipinam Yay. Now the countdown begins for you too. How did it go? Were you comfortable during the procedure?

Filipinam · 17/10/2017 14:54

Aliona Yes I was quite comfortable, didn't really feel anything, the whole thing lasted for minutes maybe;-) I could feel the catheter a little bit that's all.
